Coachella announces 2013 lineup

Across two weekends in mid-April, The Stone Roses, Blur, Phoenix and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline performances at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California.

The fest has revealed its complete lineup for the weekends of April 12-14 and April 19-21, with the Stone Roses, Blur, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lou Reed and Modest Mouse leading the opening night of the three-day event.

Jurassic 5, Tegan and Sara, Band of Horses, Passion Pit and Of Monsters and Men will also perform on April 12 and April 19.

In addition to Phoenix on April 13 and 20, Coachella attendees will hear from the XX, Postal Service, Sigur Rós, New Order, Hot Chip, Major Lazer, Bat for Lashes, Moby, 2 Chainz and Grizzly Bear.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will close out each weekend, along with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Vampire Weekend, Social Distortion, the Lumineers, La Roux and the Wu-Tang Clan.

Passes to both weekends will go on sale starting January 29 at 10 a.m. PT. (Sorry to tell some of you, but layaway is no longer an option.)

In 2003 Coachella started allowing tent camping as an option for festival lodging. The campground site is on a polo field adjacent to the venue grounds and has its own entrance on the south side of the venue. For the 2010 festival, there were more than 17,000 campers. At the 2012 event, on-site facilities included recycling, a general store, showers, mobile phone charging stations and an internet cafe with free WiFi.`

  2. Free VIP Coachella Tix...what!

Whether you love the artists or not, could anyone turn down a pair of free tickets for this year's show? I came across just that - all you have to do is like this facebook page and follow the instructions, and you're in the running to win.

No lay-a-way this year. The hippys will have to pay for tickets all at once. This is gonna cut down attendance big time. Hippys don't have money. Maybe they can barter for some tickets. Maybe trade some beads or tye dyed shirts or something.

The Lay a Way option was already offered prior to the lineup being announced. Attendance will definitely NOT suffer. It will completely sell out once the regular sale goes on a few minutes after 10am.

This is 2013. Shouldn't these hippie be retired by now? Nobody wants to hear a bunch of nancy boys screaming and beating on bongo drums.

I'm not a hippie nor are my grown children and we've been blessed enough to live nearby Coachella. We've gone to a few Coachella concerts especially the first one. Saw Morrissey, Perfect Circle & Perry Ferrell at the first one. It was amazing aside from the high temps when it was held in October. Brought my son home from college for his 21st birthday and his girlfriend now wife and my then 16 yr old son. Best festival ever. You're all jealous haters! Peace out..
