Rosie O'Donnell, Michelle Rounds welcome babyRosie O'Donnell's family has grown by one more bundle of joy: The media personality and her wife Michelle Rounds have welcomed a baby girl. O'Donnell shared the happy news on Twitter Wednesday along with a photo of herself with Rounds and their swaddled newborn daughter.
"[W]e r thrilled to announce the arrival of r daughter Dakota – #withloveandthanks – AMEN," O'Donnell, 50, tweeted. O'Donnell's rep tells CNN that little Dakota was born on January 5 weighing in at five pounds, five ounces. "Moms and baby are happy and healthy," the rep says, who confirms that Dakota was adopted. The couple quietly tied the knot in June of last year, exchanging vows in private before Rounds underwent surgery for desmoid tumors. O'Donnell then suffered a heart attack that August, and told People magazineafterward that she was going to focus on recovery. “I will gladly stay home," O'Donnell said. "I want to try to work hard at getting myself healthy, on Mich and I getting started and maybe finding a baby.” Dakota's the fifth child for O'Donnell, who has four kids with her ex, Kelli Carpenter.

If I sound anti gay, I'm really not. I support two adults rights to associate with who they want too, including gay marriage. A marriage contract is a contract between two adults. It's their business and no one elses. I just think we need to stand back and look at the bigger picture here on why it's okay for two women or two men to do this with open arms, yet interracial, or single parenthood is so blasted in society.
We also need to explore the very real reality that it is more then been proven of a childs desperate need for both male and female influence. They survive a lifestyle of something else, and it IS better then staying in the system, but as long as there are willing and loving men and women couples willing to adopt, then why settle for any less then what they really NEED?

Why is it when we hear blasting of single moms for raising children without dads, society tends to agree and have over the last few decades FINALLY begun to recognize the need for fathers, especially considering how our prison inmates grew up. Yet, whenever the same argument is made involving two women who happen to be lesbians choosing to raise a child without daddy dearest, then all of a sudden the naysayers are bigots and all is considered hunky dory, and it's considered such a wonderful thing?
Is pushing the gay movement really THAT important that when we argue the case for both male and female influence, the needs of the child get pushed to the back to accomodate this politically correct agenda?
It's disgusting!! I've seen kids have to grow up in the system and not get adopted by very loving parents simply because the family willing to love and raise them weren't the same r@ce. The most important thing for a child is to be loved, GENUINELY loved, and you can't GENUINELY love a child if you aren't willing to put it's most basic and core needs first, and are more obsessed with pushing your own agenda. ONE of the most basic core needs of a child, aside from love, is to grow up with a man AND a woman. Divorces and deaths, and harsh life events happen to everyone but they are accidents and unforseen, but to INTENTIONALLY put such a future in front of a child is downright evil.

I believe Rosie has some major psychiatric issues, pathological twisting of the facts being one of them. She might have had an angina attack, but she never had a heart attack.

I got nothing against their being gay. That's their life and their business, not mine, but kids NEED strong male and female influences in their lives. I would no more agree to adopt out a child to a gay couple then I would to a single parent. The kid needs both, otherwise the likelihood of getting into legal trouble later in life skyrockets. There is a reason that the overwhelming majority of prison inmates grew up with only a mother and no father figure at all. I hope this kid beats the statistics.

My cousin and her partner have been together for 40+ years, They have two wonderful sons. One is an accountant, one os an officer in the Coast Guard, married and the parent of a beautiful daughter. 50% of American hetero marriages end in divorce. Despite the obstacles, disadvantages, and prejudices thrown at them, these two women have forged a terrific and enduring family. I got nothing against their being gay. That's their life and their business, not mine, but kids NEED strong male and female influences in their lives. I would no more agree to adopt out a child to a gay couple then I would to a single parent. The kid needs both, otherwise the likelihood of getting into legal trouble later in life skyrockets. There is a reason that the overwhelming majority of prison inmates grew up with only a mother and no father figure at all. I hope this kid beats the statistics.

One is an accountant, one os an officer in the Coast Guard, married and the parent of a beautiful daughter. 50% of American hetero marriages end in divorce. Despite the obstacles, disadvantages, and prejudices thrown at them, these two women have forged a terrific and enduring family. The hatred, bigotry, ignorance & just pure evil displayed on this page by the posters against gay families in general & Rosie in particular, is a sad statement on the average American. Ro & Michelle are certain to be far better parents than any of you black-hearted souls.... Exhibit 1,2,3 & 4: Parker, Chelsea, Blake & Vivi are all WONDERFUL kids raised OUTSIDE of Hollywood with very normal lives. And yes, I do know them. Dakota is an extremely lucky child to be joining this beautiful family.

If I sound anti gay, I'm really not. I support two adults rights to associate with who they want too, including gay marriage. A marriage contract is a contract between two adults. It's their business and no one elses. I just think we need to stand back and look at the bigger picture here on why it's okay for two women or two men to do this with open arms, yet interracial, or single parenthood is so blasted in society.
We also need to explore the very real reality that it is more then been proven of a childs desperate need for both male and female influence. They survive a lifestyle of something else, and it IS better then staying in the system, but as long as there are willing and loving men and women couples willing to adopt, then why settle for any less then what they really NEED?
"Survive" other types of families?! You mean like my siblings & I survived a dad who beat our mom, then left us to welfare & food stamps??? We'd have all been better off with 2 loving moms or 2 devoted dads. The stats actually show that gay parents produce more level-headed, practical & tolerant kids than anyone.
Why is it when we hear blasting of single moms for raising children without dads, society tends to agree and have over the last few decades FINALLY begun to recognize the need for fathers, especially considering how our prison inmates grew up. Yet, whenever the same argument is made involving two women who happen to be lesbians choosing to raise a child without daddy dearest, then all of a sudden the naysayers are bigots and all is considered hunky dory, and it's considered such a wonderful thing?
Is pushing the gay movement really THAT important that when we argue the case for both male and female influence, the needs of the child get pushed to the back to accomodate this politically correct agenda?
It's disgusting!! I've seen kids have to grow up in the system and not get adopted by very loving parents simply because the family willing to love and raise them weren't the same r@ce. The most important thing for a child is to be loved, GENUINELY loved, and you can't GENUINELY love a child if you aren't willing to put it's most basic and core needs first, and are more obsessed with pushing your own agenda. ONE of the most basic core needs of a child, aside from love, is to grow up with a man AND a woman. Divorces and deaths, and harsh life events happen to everyone but they are accidents and unforseen, but to INTENTIONALLY put such a future in front of a child is downright evil.

I believe Rosie has some major psychiatric issues, pathological twisting of the facts being one of them. She might have had an angina attack, but she never had a heart attack.
