Death claims two on 'American Horror Story'[Editor's Note: This post contains spoilers for the January 2 episode of FX's " American Horror Story: Asylum."] It's been a few weeks since we were last at the asylum, but Wednesday night's episode picked up right where we left off, with Dr. Arden discovering a pregnant - and very much alive - Grace as Kit was sent to the brink of death. Pepper told the doctor quite clearly that she was Grace's guardian, and he would not be allowed to experiment on her as the aliens were protecting her.
When he revived Kit, Dr. Arden told him that nothing had happened while he was out. Arden and Sister Mary Eunice were still thick as thieves, plotting to give Judy electro-shock therapy. This led to one of the strangest scenes ever on this show, as a shocked Judy imagined a rollicking musical number with the inmates, Lana and Kit set to "The Name Game." Even if you're not on "Glee," Ryan Murphy makes you sing - and sing she did to one of the senior nuns about what was really going on in the asylum. [youtube http://youtu.be/lvbRwgadw80%5D Speaking of Lana and Kit, they came face-to-face with Thredson, who told them he had been hired by Mary Eunice, who is quite good at untying people. He told Lana he would keep her alive - for a while at least - as the mother of his child. Monsignor Howard, whom we most recently saw crucified, was spared by Death, who confirmed his belief that Mary Eunice was the devil and urged him to stop her. After the Monsignor tried to exorcise her, Mary Eunice seduced him and Arden walked in on them. And so, the Arden-Mary Eunice partnership was over. When Mary Eunice tried to mend things with Arden, he shot all of his freaks in front of her and nearly committed suicide. She realized he was of no more use to her and set her sights on the Monsignor. When she tempted the Monsignor with the possibility of becoming the pope, he responded by throwing her off a balcony. Death arrived to take Mary Eunice and the devil. As Arden incinerated Mary Eunice's body, he joined her on the gurney and appeared to meet his end as well. Let's acknowledge the great over-the-top performance from Lily Rabe, but frankly I'm glad to spend more time with Lana and Kit on this show. And it was long past time for Arden to go. We're now down to the Kit, Lana and Judy plot threads with only three episodes left. Plus, we still don't know what's really going on with those aliens. I don't like the Monsignor and never did – he seems very pompus and full of himself. I'm glad Sister Jude has finally seen him for who he truly is!
I will greatly miss Sister Mary Eunice. But I LOVE Pepper and of course my hero, Sister Jude!
Just got around to watching that episode on my DVR. I dont like that Sister Mary-Eunice "died". She played a great devil and it was a nice transition from when she was so quiet at the start of the season. Plus she was kinda cute! I didnt like Arden very much, but that means he must have done well playing the evil doctor. This show is awesome!
American Horror Story employs "actors" with SEVERE disabilities and profits from them.
Yeah, because a girl WITHOUT down syndrome telling you to die wouldn't be as freaky.

I am not sure who you are referring to, but if you are referring to Pepper-the actress that plays here does not have any syndrome. Look her up. The makeup people deserve Emmys for her make under.

Naomi Grossman, who plays the pinhead Pepper, is amazingly hot. Definitely not retarded.
My favorite show on cable!!! So well done and gripping with suspense. All the actors leave an open wound so to speak...the writing is cringe-worthy and delightful. I think this season are horrific dream sequences of judy's altered day to day stay in the asylum. It's all in her imagination.

As you may know, Ryan Murphy said the clue to next seasons theme will be in last weeks episode. Remember the song, Sister Mary played in the jukebox? "I put a spell on you". He also said it would be set in a town where lots of horror had been experienced and it would be a love story.
My theory: Next year it will be set in New Orleans and mainly focus on witchcraft etc.

The devil didn't jump out of Sister Mary because the devil told the Monsenior that he would only get one chance to kill her and it had better be quick, and that she wasn't put off by the fact that he wanted to kill her and in fact was turned on by it and that he was hers body and soul.
When she went over the railing she wasn't the devil but in fact Sister Mary. The devil would have jumped out if it were in control, but at the moment of death the good nun was in charge of her body and told the Monsenior that when she said she was tired of fighting. He knew what to do because the devil already told him, and he acted on it.
Ah, but Death said she was going to take "both of them."
In reply to her question "have you come for me"? Death told Sister Mary Eunice "yes, for both of you".
I absolutely love this show, but I didn't like the musical bit. Other than that, last night's episode was bizarrely wonderful, as usual.
This is my all time favorite television show. The writing is excellent, the actors are fantastic, the story is unique and gripping. I love everything about this show. I was surprised to see Sister Mary Eunice and the devil going out the way they did. I expected the devil to put up more of a fight. Didn't see Arden leaving the way he did either and I disagree with the writer..Arden adds so much suspense and drama to the show. His character is going to be missed because I enjoyed hating him. I thought he should have been killed by the monsters he created or those aliens I can't wait to see...OMG I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE THIS SHOW!!!!

I like the show very much it is better then half of the shows they have on now. People just don't understand the plot to the show. Yes I was upset you let them die bring at least one back. please don't take this show off air.
I agree that this show is really awesome, with great writing, and AMAZING Acting, albeit this year the show is a lot more violent, not to mention, graphic this season than last year! I look forward every week to Jessica's monlogues. She really is a great actress.(Now we know why she got a Golden Globe last year for her role in Horror Story.) However, I have a question. When Satan was possessing the killer, when the killer died, Satan flew into Sister Mary Eunice. I don't think that he would not save himself, by leaving her body, before she died. As she was falling, and looking at the Monsignor, why wouldn't Satan leave her body then? Besides, I don't think Satan would just let himself die, just like that. I honestly thought that he was going to fly into the Monsignor. What do you all think? Just wondering.
for the reason that the devil needs an innocent soul like Sister Mary Eunice and well the Monsignor is not so innocent.
I think it is because when the demon first appeared it was being exorcised and was in control. Mary Eunice was in control and suppressed the demon long enough to put it into hiding so to speak. I think it was unable to leave her body.

It will be different without Sister May Eunice...she was laughable and terrifying at the same time!
So sad there are only three episodes left – this show is amazing and the characters are so complex...truly my favorite show ever!
Only 3 episodes left this season. Its back next year with an entirely new horror story to tell. Already looking forward to it.

I was sorry James Cromwell's character was killed off...only because he is such a fine actor. Other than that, the show was good last night.
Then, for Pete's sake...DON'T WATCH IT! Are you being forced to do so? If not, the go away and let the ones who enjoy the show watch.
Jeez. Didn't know life was that difficult for some people.
