Watch: New trailer for 'Great Gatsby'

Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby" was originally going to open on Christmas Day, but the latest trailer assures us that this will be worth the wait until spring.

Jay-Z and Kanye's "No Church in the Wild" makes another appearance in the second trailer, providing an urgent energy to the first few scenes. But where the first look at "Gatsby" leaned heavily on quick cuts, this one lingers more on the story.

Leonardo DiCaprio stars as the wealthy Jay Gatsby, while Tobey Maguire plays the doubtful Nick Carraway, who gets lost in Gatsby's world. Carey Mulligan portrays Gatsby's secret love, Daisy Buchanan, and Joel Edgerton is her unlikable husband, Tom.

What do you think of the new clip?

To jcluma: you are so right! And if Leonardo DiCaprio is going to trick it out the way he did Hoover, fake accent and wrong emphasis in the dialog, this glorious novel is going to lose something. I have a feeling this is going to be Moulin Rouge II–also a cartoony movie. And BTW, Carey Mulligan is not beautiful or etherial enough to be Daisy.

DiCaprio is perfect for this role. He is the Jay Gatsby Fitzgerald would have envisioned.....

No one has ever or will come close to the version with Robert Redford, Mia Farrow, and Sam Waterson. Sorry.

Mia Farrow is a terrible actress, was all wrong for the role, and I find it hard to believe that she was the woman a man would do anything for. I also thought the same thing about her in Death on the Nile. Mia Farrow? Really?

Let's see if this one time there is a connection between Las Vegas and a bunch of mobsters having left Havana kind of in a hurry as Batista lost control of the Island. It is nice to see all those pretty faces and all their gestures and mannerisms, but I hope the picture will portray more than just some basic history that surrounded such an important era. After all, millions of people are still suffering a wide variety of consequences fifty years later...

Are you serious? This movie is based on a book about white people, also this book takes place in the first half of the 20th century. You're the racist.

So does that mean I shouldn't watch a black movie like the Tuskegee Airmen? How racist is your remark?

This trailer is a freaked out Hollywood mess. It makes THE GREAT GATSBY look like a fast-paced cartoon, revealing the director's over-art-directed scenes with editing like it's some mindless action video. Why do this to a classic story that is a character study and a deep poetic mystery" It should have been slowed way down with long dissolves and whispered narration to make Gatsby's tragic yearning for love a force to grab you by the heart and throat.

I first heard about this film on Entourage. I think season 6 right? Was it in the making that long?

Why is this in 3D? I love this story but won't go to see it because of 3D?
