American Country Awards: Luke Bryan wins 9, Carrie Underwood sets a recordLuke Bryan owned the night at the fan-voted American Country Awards ceremony on Monday. The "Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye" singer picked up nine awards, including artist of the year, album of the year for "Tailgates and Tanlines" and single of the year for "I Don't Want This Night To End."
Hosted by Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth in Las Vegas, the two-hour American Country Awards put on a Sin City spectacular with performances from Rascal Flatts, group of the year winner Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, group music video of the year winner Little Big Town, and from Bryan himself. "American Idol" alum Lauren Alaina picked up the best new artist honor while "Idol" star Carrie Underwood set an ACAs record. By nabbing two ACA awards last night, including best female artist of the year, Underwood now has a total of 11 ACA honors, the most of any artist. It was a really good show last night, except for the terrible hosts. Trace Adkins was just a little dull, but Kristin Chenoweth was really obnoxious and gross. The awards went to the people I wanted for the most part, except I didn’t think Luke Bryan should have won everything he did. I was talking to a coworker at DISH who thinks that those results were just due to the public voting that strong fan bases can dominate. I nearly missed the show last night because I was out with the boys, but thankfully my DISH Hopper recorded it with PrimeTime Anytime. It is really great how it records everything during primetime on the four major networks and saves it for a week, so I never miss anything. There may be a ton of these country music award shows, but I don’t mind because we get to see some great performances every time.
Bryan (M) is still talented!
I wonder who will win the country awards at the country award show next weekend, and the weekend after that...pretty sure there will be some more country awards after the next country awards, squeezed in right before the next country awards.
enjoy the view.!!!!!
hey congrats to all the winners of the aca and a special shut out to lauren alaina who i voted for two years ago way to go and im so happy for you lauren, keep up the good work
How many country music award shows are there? It seems like there's a new one every two weeks. The ACMs and the CMAs and the American Country Awards, which I don't think I've ever heard of, but how could I remember? Country music has more organizations than international boxing.
Miley Cyrus should have win an award for most tedivulous looking.
I meant most rediculous looking.
I don't like Miley Cyrus but .... you might want to learn how to spell ridiculous before insulting someone.
What about the Monkees. Why didna they win?
