While you were working ...

Today's news you might've missed:

  • Matthew Perry is taking a cue from Angus T. Jones. In a new Funny or Die sketch, he says he’d like to give back all the money he made from projects like “Studio 60,” “Mr. Sunshine” and “Go On,” but not “Friends” because he’s not a “f--ing moron.” [Funny or Die]
  • CBS is adapting Stephen King’s 2009 novel “Under the Dome.” Thirteen episodes are set to air in summer 2013. [CBS]
  • It seems Alec Baldwin is in a giving mood this holiday season. The actor donated $1 million (for the second time since 2009) to his alma mater. The donation is in support of the Alec Baldwin Drama Scholarship Fund and the Talent Identification Process at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. [The TASC Group]
  • “Southland’s” Regina King will appear on a January episode of “Big Bang Theory.” We’re excited to see her deal with Jim Parsons’ Sheldon Cooper as Mrs. Davis, the head of human resources at the university where he works. [THR]
  • In case you were wondering, Olivier Sarkozy’s ex-wife reportedly approves of him dating Mary-Kate Olsen. Frankly, we’re much more curious as to whether or not we can expect “Passport to Paris: The sequel” to hit store shelves anytime soon. [Us Weekly]

Overheard: Katy Perry really loves her shapewear

Dressed in a navy blue Naeem Khan gown at UNICEF’s Snowflake Ball on Wednesday, Katy Perry told US Weekly that she left an important part of her ensemble at home: her shapewear.

“I feel like my [fat] is sticking out so bad right now. I almost always wear [Spanx], but not tonight, and I feel it pushing out, making me look fat. … I like to say I run on the elliptical for 30 minutes watching CNN, but I don't do it often enough. So I'm just like, ‘Oh, I guess I'm not fitting into this Lanvin dress for these couple of months.’ ”

Despite her missing undergarment, the pop star looked radiant walking the blue carpet at the New York City event.
