ABC's '666 Park Avenue,' 'Last Resort' canceledCBS wasn't the only network cleaning house on Friday. As "Partners" was swiftly axed from that network's calendar, ABC has done the same with "666 Park Avenue" and "Last Resort."
Freshman supernatural drama "666," which centered on a tony New York apartment building where residents faced hellish circumstances, has been struggling in ratings for weeks. Airing after ABC's hit "Revenge" didn't help, and the network opted against ordering an additional nine episodes to run after the initial 13, Variety reports. The same can be said for another one of the network's freshman dramas, "Last Resort," whose cancellation was more surprising. The series centered on a Navy SEALs submarine crew who wound up on an island after surviving an attack, and was critically well-received. But being scheduled at 8 p.m. on Thursdays did "Last Resort" zero favors, and, like "666," will finish out its 13 episodes before heading off the air. If you're a fan, Variety notes that ABC hasn't closed the door completely on the possibility of resurrecting the series at some point in the future. |

I am VERY disappointed with ABC. Cancelled two of my favorite shows in consecutive seasons. The River last Spring and now 666 Parkway. Good gosh – give audiences an opportunity to warm up to something before yanking the cord on something different!

Taking entertaining shows off the air such as 666, last resort, pan am, romantically challenged with allyssa Milano,ABC definitely does not care about their viewers. They are more interested in ratings and money, talk about corporate greed, no wonder our country and our youth are in such a mess. Our young girls and women definitely DO NOT need more ideas on how to be nasty, mean, underhanded and snotty to each other or how to manipulate men from disgusting shows like the bachelor. Get a grip and take some responsibility. It is also your daughters, granddaughters, nieces, who are watching this trash. Television programming should be fun, to take you away from the stress of the day, not to make you feel angry and hopeless and frustrated and want you to lash out at others. And certainly not for the purpose of being mean to others and sitting back laughing when you have hurt somebody because that is funny?
im 16 and i dont even watch those shows i hardly ever watch tv at all when 666 came out i saw the trailor and just new i had to watch it.... now im down to not watching anything now. Atleast put 666 back on tv because it drives me crazy not knowing what was going to happen next.

Well I really did love the 666 park I would reqest off on sunday just to watch the show. I liked the suspence and mystery behind every surprise episode. I really hope that abc listen to the shows loyal fans and give us our show back.
I have to admit the show started off slow...but as the weeks went by I couldnt wait to see what happens next. I dont care for the woman who plays Jane. She is boring. I hope you find a way to keep the show on. Its the fantasy island of hotels.
Nowadays I consider ALL new TV shows as mini series, thinking from the start the show will only have a few episodes as in almost all cases, the good shows are quickly cancelled and more of the same crap is put in it's place. Times are changing and soon it will be the viewer NOT the networks making the decisions of who goes and who stays
It’s upsetting and quite a shame Last Resort has been cancelled. It is one of the only good shows currently on TV. The creators should try to get the show picked up by USA or FX – networks who’s viewers enjoy more intellectual stimulation than the ABC viewers watching Gray’s or The Bachelor. Even if the series was finished out (instead of an abrupt one season ending) and sold on DVD without being aired I, and I’m sure many of the other 9million+ viewers, would buy the entire series.
I cannot believe they are cancelling this show. 666 was so good and I watched every Sunday night. It has been quite a while since I watched network tv for 3 consecutive shows. Poor decision! Back to the tennis channel for me! ABC, get it together!

When i am not watching the awesome hit show 'Once upon a time' I am watching '666 Park Avenue'. This show is thrilling,suspensful and entertaining. This show should not get canceled. I usually dont like watching hellish type shows but this one has me hooked. Being a huge fan of lost i believe this will take off once the world knows the twist and if evil really wins.
This was the most intriguing TV show I have seen in a very long time. Excellent, writing & acting and so unique. Most people did not have to chance to even realize this show existed! One serious flaw however was using the name 666 being that the majority of U.S. citizens are Christian. That was a fatal flaw!! Bring it back with the name "The Drake Hotel". Also the violence was extreme & over the top & could easily be toned down. Also Sunday was not the right day to air a show about the dark side. It's all common sense. Still it was an excellent show so please bring it back with these changes and the ratings may fly up.

I love this show. Exciting, great acting and different. I can't beleive it's been cancelled. Now what another reality show Please NO! The setting is great in that old hotel in New York City. I so look forward to watching this every week. Please bring it back for those of us who expect more out of TV shows.

Once again ABC is making a huge mistake, .....seems to be their way. 666 was the best in their line-up. Why not give it a chance with a decent time slot and day. 10 PM on Sunday was a bad choice, but I still watched. ABC says ratings were low. Most everyone I know, didn't even know about 666. After watching 666, most all my friends became loyal watchers. Maybe ABC needs to promote it better, if they want good ratings. 666 is about the only program that ABC has/had that I even watch. Anything good, they axe. I guess that is why I will watch a different network again, as I do most evenings. Just when I was starting to think maybe there was hope for ABC.

Foolish decision to do this without even giving them another time slot or night. I love 666. I want to know what's under the mosaic tile. I want to know who are the people down the spiral staircase. I want to know what's in the red box in the safe. I think Vanessa and Terry are a magnificient couple. The show does not deserve to be canceled and then likely replaced with more Reality TV trash. This show is AMAZING and should NOT be cancelled!! I get pulled in further and further into the world of "The Drake" with each episode I watch and re-watch. How can you get an accurate account of all the people watching this show? Some DVR it, some (like me) watch on Hulu, some even illegally download it. I checked the download stats pm a site for last night's episode, over 5k people have downloaded so far, and that's just one from one site and one up-loader. DON'T CANCEL THIS GREAT SHOW ABC! What are you, FOX?? Shame on you!!!!!!!
I will be totally disappointed if ABC cancels 666, because we finally have a good program that you cant wait to return the following week to see what Gaven is up to . Get rid of some dumb reality show instead, there are way too many of those. I look forward to the show every week, and bring back Whoopie Goldberg periodically to boost the ratings for awhile till more people watch.

I am so sick of this. Last Resort definitely had merit and potential. Star power actors, tangible plot & action. But of course, networks are looking for ratings that compare to reality TV shows which draw in millions of idiots weekly. Apparently, idiots outnumber intelligent people looking for a show that's entertaining, creative & engaging without subjecting average people to ridicule for their weight, singing voice, poor dancing & other crazy behavior. I'm done with network TV.
It is such a shame that we can't have any good tvTV shows anymore. There aren't too many that I can get interested in, and when I find one, they cancel it. They must decide what to keep and what to cancel based on the 'good ole boy network' and not what their audience wants. It doesn't make sense to me, but I can't believe the decision is based on how many watch. I DETEST reality TV and that is just about all you can find. Thank goodness for Netflix. I watch 666 and Last Resort both.

Can't believe that ABC is counseling these two shows. These are two of the best new shows to hit TV in quite some time. Didn't see the first couple of episodes of 'Last Resort' but heard about it from a friend, and watched them on the net. Great show, great plot. Can't always watch '666' at its airtime, but always watch it on the net when I can't. These shows are so much better that all of the reality 'junk' that is on TV these days. Too bad that the executives at ABC do not know what true entertainment is all about.

I can't believe this, why do they keep doing this, everytime they get a good show on the air they cancel it, they did it last season. But they don't seem to cancel those awful reality shows, I cannot believe some of the things that are on TV these days. It is getting so that any yahoo can get a show, no talent required. Both of these shows interesting and entertaining. I am so sick of them not giving show a chance. I cannot believe that the Simpson's and Family Guy are still on the air.

Maybe we'll luck out and another network will pick up "Last Resort" like CBS did with "JAG" and it ended up going for a 10 year run. Good drama is hard to find anymore, especially when the executives are more interested in making a swift buck than they are running an entertainment empire.
Put it back on and cancel dancing with the stars b/c its all politics...

I liked 666, but it was taking way too long to get into who Gavin is and what the real story of the building is. I was getting frustrated thinking i'd have to wait until the season finale for so many questions to be answered. Guess now i dont have to worry...

I don't watch any shows on ABC; with the exception of DWTS (Kelly Monaco #General Hospital). If ABC wants to cancel my soaps; then I will not watch any of their primetime shows. ABC delusional and no longer relevant.

Are you people crazy???? 666 Park was the best show that ABC has put out in years. I dont understand why you dont give a show a chance to become popular. It is about time that a good show was aired and now it is scheduled for cancellation. The Sunday night line up on ABC was the best!!!, now it is being ruined by cancelling 666 Park. I am so upset. It is a great show with great actors and a good story line. Of course, someone at ABC does not know what makes up a good show, it is easier to air reality shows which appeal to people with no brains. If ABC wants to become the number one station it would be benefical to keep great shows like 666 Park. Once this show is cancelled, I am going back to CBS.

I cannot believe this show is canceled. How can they do this? This is an amazing show with amazing actors. Love Vannessa and Terry. The story lines are superverb. Hello, who votes on these things. I am soo angry. There is nothing left on tv worth watching. And we do not even get closure. I hope another station picks it up. Same thing happened with Law and Order Criminal Intent. Upset about 666 Park Avenue. It is a great show...or should I say was? Darn it!
How many really good shows do I get into only to see them cancelled...Jericho was a great show and was cancelled and strangely a show called Revolution pops up which is Jericho with the same basic idea but different characters but the basis of the show is Jericho. Now 666 Park Avenue. I could list so many shows that were not given a chance and I guess this is why people stick to idiots like the Kardashians because clearly they aren't going anywhere. Thanks for the tease networks and then pulling good shows.

Keep Last Resort!! I really enjoy this show & look forward to it each week. Just move it to a new night! I know Thursday can be a crazy night for TV. And I agree, with shows out there like HBB & Kardashians, we really are stretching it as far as what we find worth our time. Pretty sad.
I heard about Last Resort this morning then watched last weeks show I had recorded and frankly was not supprised. The latest episode Clearly spelled out that this show was going in the direction of a Lying President, People who wanted him out, people who were protecting him, etc, etc. Sound familure???

To bring back these great shows, buy them on dvd. When Fox cancelled Family Guy, so many people were buying the dvds that they brought it back. It's a long shot, but like someone else said all the networks care about is money.
You're right. Family guy was actually canceled TWICE. In the meantine Seth McFarlin has become mega rich.
It figures that they would cancel it before they revealed what the villian is... same with alcatraz on fox. Both great shows with great revealing plots that just need time to unfold. The way things are heading, writers shouldn't even waste their time.
Alcatraz was cancelled too......I never hear about these things.....First 666 and then I hear about Alcatraz.....Lets not forget that Fringe is in its last season

I think it is pretty sad that ABC has a great show in Last Resort but they are cancelling it. They are probably going to put on more crap like everything else out there. I was really enjoying it and I DVR the show if I can not watch it. It is a very suspenseful and attention keeping show. I think they are doing an injustice to viewers by cancelling it. I guess if they cancel it then I will not be watching ABC so they are the ones that lose out in the end.

I love 666 Park Avenue!!! The problem is it is on at the same time as The Walking Dead. I hope they bring it back on a different night. It is very different from other shows and I would love to find out where it is going.
I agree, 666 Park Ave. is on at the same time as Walking Dead, which makes it a second runner, but it's a great show in my opinion too. Always DVR'd it and then caught up later. Sad to hear that ABC is removing it after the first 13 episodes too. I've appreciated seeing more options than reality tv. I wish that they might reconsider. Last Resort was a good one too.

I LOVED 666, really disappointed that it didn't catch on..shoot, it makes me hate Network TV when the good shows get cancelled and they hang on to truly uninspired shows...Fortunately, FX and Cable will fill the gap that Network, especially ABC, leaves empty.

It's not surprising that either got cancelled, although they were both good shows. Most horror shows on networks like ABC can't get the ratings to stay, even when they deserve it, the same thing happened with the river last year. A lot of people wont watch 666 because its scary, and a lot wont watch because it somehow involves the devil and demons. Last Resort, although it was good, had an EXTREMELY boring premiere, which meant that many people weren't going to bother coming back to it the next week, I know I only did because I was bored. The time slots of both shows didn't help them either, Sunday night shows need big ratings, and placing 666 after Once Upon A Time and Revenge certainly did not help that show any as both of them already had a huge fan following. and as for Last Resort, it was on Thursday's, which meant it also needed big ratings, but it was also on early in the night, its hard for a new show to get good ratings when its not on at a convenient time.
I so agree. One of the main reason's I didnt watch Vanessa's show was because of the name. Although, I'm sure it was a good one (love her as an actress), if they considered a name change I would be more than happy to tune in lol

Sometimes I wonder what the network execs are thinking when they come up with time slots. 666 Park Avenue is really good, but it comes on Sunday nights (during football) so I catch-up with it on Xfinity On Demand Saturdays when there is nothing on. Too bad, Vanessa Williams is fantastic and she and Terry O'Quinn make quite the couple.

Yes of course they both get cancelled! I happened to like them both. Every time I find a show I like it gets cancelled. I am so tired of paying for cable that has nothing good on. Time to cut back and save some money. I will just get ride of cable then I have no bill and no worries. I will just get caught up with my reading, its better for my brain anyway!!

Last Resort should not be cancelled... It was one of the best shows on ABC.... I hope they rethink their decision or be prepared to get boycotted...

I totally agree Kris. I like 666 and I really liked Terra Nova. I hadn't watched network TV for years and the last couple of years I decided to give some of them a chance. It seems several of the ones I've liked have been rated well on IMDB and were entertaining only to be cancelled by the network. I do like Revenge and American Horror Story; however, I liked these two others equally as much.
Sorry to Last Resort has been canceled. I hope ABC will rethink that decision. I found it a very compelling series. Why not give it another chance?

As a former secret agent and now a multi billionaire I find these shows fascinating. Being owner of a private island with 27 pet monkeys and giraffes running around I spend a great deal of time watching TV. There are many good shows on but these two were my favorites. They will be sadly missed.
those were two of my favorite shows that I religiously watched every week! nothing else like them on TV. PLEASE DON'T CANCEL! Seriously. there is so much garbage on TV, and both of these shows were DIFFERENT and worth watching!

I loved 66 park ave and so did my bf.... First Nbc ordered syfy to cancel Eureka now this...and this is just another reason for why I dont buy cable anymore.

I totally agree and record the show as well. finally there is something other than a reality show on and it is cancelled. Really? give it a chance.
Wait a minute! It has been awhile since we tv watchers have been able to get the most out of cable in less than a hour. 'Last Resort' is/was good for the action. Hopefully, it will continue with a meaningful end while getting down to the bottom of who is behind all the madness. The ever surprising '666 Park Avenue' has many pieces to it's puzzle leaving you in suspense and awe. You jus know there is something more there. You wait for it, at least I do. Maybe change horror suspense to a Friday or Saturday at 8pm plus more advertisement on other channels with exact channel it will appear with day and time instead of check local listings. Or keep same days and times but advertise the show for those who do not know about at least the horror suspense. People will watch it!

Shows come and go so fast anymore, it's a shame. I did like 666, partners and made in jersey a lot, but it's the times we live in. What can you do?
Two of the more intelligent series out there this year, I guess tv viewers don't like show that you have to think about. But shows often come back from the dead once the Network realizes that people were watching.
No they would rather watch those stupid reality shows. UGHHH! The last episode left off with Jane going down those stairs and the floor closes up on her, Do you realize how hard it has been to make it through this week so I could learn of her fate, to have this happen.
This is a shame. It was chock full of Christmas and Santa Claus references.

666 Park Avenue was an incredibly innovation show. It was the only show of the new season that I loved. I'm totally bummed out !!

AGREE. 666 IS GREAT. I WATCH VERY LITTLE TV because very little holds my attention. I can't believe the one show that captured my attention is being cancelled.
I am sad to see 666 Park Avenue is cancelled. I really enjoyed the show.

That is too many people. You are too nice. I'd make about 30 peanut butter sandwiches and maybe 30 banana sandwiches and then have about 5 or 6 big bags of potato chips. Put it all on a table let em fight over them.

i go the veg store at 6:30am wed, prepare all trimmings for the turkey, stuffing my own, table is set evening before
very lonnnng table...i just ordered the huge center piece from the florist...it is very organized. you have to be with a large family..i ordered a bunch of activites... make a foam turkey, coloring books, crayons...kids tend to go nuts at these things so you have to keep them occupied. my house is large so it will all work out... cousins all pitch in so its not a problem we are used to it.
and i have a huugggggggge basement for the football area.

We are outta school all this week for Thanksgiving holidays. I'm thankful I'm not at school because my teacher eats do do. I'm also thankful cause we had macaroni and cheese for lunch. The Stouffer' frozen kind. My mom rules !
