"Dancing With the Stars: All Stars" narrowed down the competition to just five couples Tuesday night, saying farewell to two stars in the process.
We started with the (unsurprising) elimination of Kirstie Alley and Maks Chmerkovskiy, who went into the double elimination with the lowest score on the leaderboard.
That ought to have given them time to prepare their farewells, as Alley graciously told press Tuesday after the elimination, "I'm so glad I did it, and it was a great run," according to Entertainment Weekly. "You know, Maks tried his hardest, but come on. The bottom line is, there's extraordinary dancers on here ... From the time I saw this cast I was slightly flipping out, and rightfully so."
The 61-year-old actress is ready for the newly found downtime now that she's done with "DWTS," and she said that she plans to spend the next 48 hours indulging in a marathon of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and "Criminal Minds." Joked Chmerkovskiy, "she's trying to find the best way to kill me and get away with it on 'Law & Order.'"
But the other couple sent home last night, Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd, was more surprising, as Marini himself conceded talking to press.
"This is probably for a lot of people, maybe a little shocking," he said. "It's a very good show. They know how to make drama, and it's good."
