President Obama's in need of a slow jam

Three years ago, Beyonce performed Etta James' "At Last" for a newly elected President Obama and First Lady Michelle as they had their first dance at an inaugural ball.

Now, as he prepares to enter his second term, another round of inauguration events are on the horizon - and the president's still mulling over the right song.

He told Ryan Seacrest as much on Tuesday, when the radio and TV personality asked whether Obama had a song picked out, should he win the election.

"Now that's a tough choice, and I think I'll have to consult with my wife," Obama said. "Whatever it is, it's got to be a slow song so that I can put my moves on Michelle. Something a little romantic, you know?"

Perhaps revealing a little more than Seacrest's audience really wanted to know, he added, "I haven't seen her a lot lately. I've been on the road too much."

We would recommend Al Green's "I'm Still In Love With You," since he loves to hit Green's high notes, but that's too upbeat. What suggestions do you have for songs that could help set the mood in January?

Wonderful goods from you, man. I've bear in mind your stuff prior to and you're simply extremely wonderful. I actually like what you've acquired right here, really like what you are saying and the way wherein you say it. You are making it enjoyable and you still care for to stay it wise. I can not wait to read much more from you. That is really a terrific website.

  2. I've got to be me--sammy davis jr. version

Whether I'm right or whether I'm wrong
Whether I find a place in this world or never belong
I gotta be me, I've gotta be me
What else can I be but what I am

I want to live, not merely survive
And I won't give up this dream
Of life that keeps me alive
I gotta be me, I gotta be me
The dream that I see makes me what I am

That far-away prize, a world of success
Is waiting for me if I heed the call
I won't settle down, won't settle for less
As long as there's a chance that I can have it all

I'll go it alone, that's how it must be
I can't be right for somebody else
If I'm not right for me
I gotta be free, I've gotta be free
Daring to try, to do it or die
    I've gotta be me

I'll go it alone, that's how it must be
I can't be right for somebody else
If I'm not right for me
I gotta be free, I just gotta be free
Daring to try, to do it or die
    I gotta be me

  3. that's amore -- dean martin

(In Napoli where love is King)
    (When boy meets girl)
    (Here's what they say)

When the moon hits your eye
    Like a big-a pizza pie
    That's amore
When the world seems to shine
Like you've had too much wine
    That's amore

    Bells'll ring
    Ting-a-ling-a-ling
    Ting-a-ling-a-ling
    And you'll sing "Vita bella"
    Hearts'll play
    Tippi-tippi-tay
    Tippi-tippi-tay
    Like a gay tarantella

When the stars make you drool
    Joost-a like pasta fazool
    That's amore
When you dance down the street
With a cloud at your feet, you're in love
When you walk in a dream
But you know you're not dreamin', signore
    'Scusami, but you see
Back in old Napoli, that's amore

(When the moon hits your eye)
    (Like a big-a pizza pie, that's amore)

    That's amore

(When the world seems to shine
(Like you've had too much wine, that's amore)

    That's amore

    (Bells will ring)
    (Ting-a-ling-a-ling)
    (ting-a-ling-a-ling)
    (And you'll sing "Vita bella")
    (Vita bell-vita bella)
    (Hearts will play)
    (Tippi-tippi-tay, tippi-tippi-tay)
    (Like a gay tarantella)

    Lucky fella

When the stars make you drool just like pasta fazool
    That's amore (that's amore)
When you dance down the street
With a cloud at your feet, you're in love
When you walk in a dream
But you know you're not dreaming, signore
    'Scusami, but you see

  5. How about this one...

    The moment I wake up
Before I put on my make up
I say a little prayer for you
    While combing my hair now
And wond'ring what dress to wear now
I say a little prayer for you

Forever, and ever you'll stay in my heart
    And I will love you
Forever, and ever we never will part
    Oh, how I love you
Together, forever, that's how it must be.
    To live without you
Would only mean heartbreak for me

I run for the bus, dear
While riding I think of us dear
I say a little prayer for you
At work I just take time
    { From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/b/burt-bacharach-lyrics/i-say-a-little-prayer-for-you-lyrics.html }
and all through my coffee break time
I say a little prayer for you

Forever, and ever you'll stay in my heart
    And I will love you
Forever, and ever we never will part
    Oh, how I love you
Together, forever, that's how it must be.
    To live without you
Would only mean heartbreak for me

I say a little prayer for you

I say a little prayer for you

    My darling, believe me
For me there is no one but you
    Please love me too
    I'm in love with you
    Answer my prayer
    Say you love me too

Not that he, or anyone of consequence, will read this, but my suggestion is Somewhere Over the Rainbow, the version by Israel Kamakawiwo`ole. You can still dance to it, but it has an uplifting feel to it. Perfect for starting a new term in office. I also think it's quite sweet.

Will someone please hire a copy editor? It's "tough" choice not "touch" choice (paragraph 4). In the days of spell check, no one proofreads anymore. – As for a song, President Obama seems to enjoy classic soul, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding or Marvin Gaye...one of them sang, "Dream A Little Dream Of Me." A rendition of that song by a new artist would be nice.

To the religious and racist whacko's: Obama spent most of his life in America. John Cain probably spent more time abroad than Barack. All racists are losers, just like Trump. See where his big fat squirrel-covered head has gotten him? Numerous divorces and bankruptcies, and lately he has become a complete laughingstock. Your kind will be left behind as the world moves forwards. Either embrace diversity, or go hide in a log cabin PRAYING for this world you can't accept to go away. Whites are becoming the minority in this country. Pretty soon, you won't be able to shoot off your racist mouths without someone shooting off your racist mouths. PEACE!

I love Christmas songs myself. Especially the one about Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. It is a friendly and happy song about a brave little deer that overcomes obstacles to become the greatest reindeer of all. He is a good reindeer.

Obama should sing "sympathy for the devil" and wear a devil costume. It would rule, plus scare all the Repubs. It would be great.
