Tom Hanks drops 'F-bomb' on 'GMA' - Oops!

Tom Hanks plays a variety of roles in his upcoming film "Cloud Atlas," and it seems that he got a little too into one of his characters Friday morning on "Good Morning America."

The 56-year-old actor was chatting about the adaptation of the acclaimed novel of the same name when he was asked to speak in the accent of one of his characters.

Hanks was game, but he forget to clean up his character's potty mouth and accidentally said "f*****g" in the middle of his sentence. To be fair, though, he did warn "GMA's" Elizabeth Vargas ahead of time that "mostly it's swear words."

After the f-bomb slip, the actor immediately caught himself and apologized. "Man oh man, I'm sorry, I slipped into a brand of acting," he said. "I have never done that before, I want to apologize to the kids in America that are watching this right now. And let me say, next time on the show there will be a seven-second delay."

While Vargas tried to move on, Hanks got in one more joke: "Never give me a handheld mic! I blame the staff." When he took his apology to Twitter, Hanks added, "For GMA ... Oops! In character! Sorry!"

Its sad when the 1 % becomes uncivilized like the common criminal. No surprise, liberals are very uncivilized, uneducated fools.

In America curse words aren't really a big deal but it's a no-no for live television and mainly for the reason Tom says "sorry kids". Honestly, I'm sure most American's feel the way I do and find the situation humorous, not outrageous.

Traditionally we save the words we don't want children repeating until they are out of the room. It's cute for Hanks, not so cute for little Junior when he says it in kindergarten, and so he could land that show a hefty fine.

I hope he, and GMA are MASSIVELY fined. Not because I think there's anything wrong with what happened at all, but because, per FCC standards, what happened was wrong at a near-Biblical level. If they pay dearly for this, it'll help cause an outcry amongst even the bluehairs, that could lead to much more reasonable-for-today FCC standards.

Just remember, what you write and say is only a reflection of you. This article is the exact reason libs need to be taken out of positions of writing, government, etc. And put back where they belong – service industry, etc.

The sad part here is that the PTC wants to live in the 1950s when censors didn't even allow the word "pregnant" to be uttered. Gee, you think people watching I Love Lucy didn't notice when she was pregnant...They wrote it into the series. When her character gave birth, it was the most watched TV show until "Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen".

The PTC needs to realize that parents cuss and *gasp* in front of their kiddies! My nephew and nieces grew up hearing the F-bomb, a word that starts with "S" and ends with "hit" and a few other choice words.

Granted that a lot of parents will refrain from saying "such offensive words" in front of the kids and actually DO THEIR JOBS of monitoring what their kid(s) watch. It's a shame, though, when the PTC slams GMA or other shows for letting a profanity slip through. It's called LIVE TELEVISION and there will be the bloopers that might have to be bleeped later on.

Tom Hanks here even warned the viewers that there was the possibility of a nasty, offensive to some ears getting through. Sure enough, the F-bomb fell and exploded on people's ears, offending some and others were like "He cussed...big f^(%^ing deal."

If people cannot accept his mea culpa, I feel really sorry for them...NOT!
