Emmy winner Julianne Moore gets validation for playing Palin

It took a behind-the-scenes village to transform Julianne Moore into Sarah Palin for the HBO movie "Game Change," and Moore thanked all of them as she took the Emmys stage Sunday night.

The actress won the Emmy for outstanding lead actress in a miniseries or movie, and she told the audience that she felt "so validated since Sarah Palin gave me a big thumbs down."

She also shared her gratitude for her dialect coach, "the amazing cast" and director Jay Roach, "who held my hand and guided me through."

Roach then went on to pick up the Emmy for outstanding directing of a miniseries or movie, and congratulated "Game Change" script writer Danny Strong, who won the Emmy for outstanding writing of a miniseries or movie.

I was surprised that Tom Hanks was able to get Julianna out of rehab and sober enough to show up for the taping of this film. Did she have to have a telepromter with her lines on it to get through the scenes on a daily basis.

Sarha Palin is not the blame. With what she had to work with I think she did an awsome job. They wanted a game change and they got it. She was not qualified and she knew it when she accepted. All that being said, she, like moct politicians, is an opportunist. She rode this all the way to the bank. She is not to be underestimated, she will be back. Now she has the taste of Big money, she will want more. I mean why be Gov when you can give an hour speech and pocket a 100k or more, duh. Smart lady

Wow, Greg, now she doesn't have to defend herself against all the phony lawsuits filed against her as governor. And you know what, she got to save all the money she was putting out as well as the money Alaska was putting out to defend against the suits. As for all of you out there, calling her an imbecile and ignorant and unqualified, please point out how Obama was more qualified to hold the office then Palin. Please use facts and not opinion. It would help if you could provide sources. While you're at it, point out how Obama is more intelligent than Palin. Please use fact and provide sources. Something simple like, college records and GPA info, papers he's written and articles he's published. Should be easy for a genius like him. You should at least be able to find something he wrote for the Harvard Law review, right? By the way, other than people he knew can you actually prove he attended Occidental or Columbia? Just asking. As for Ms. Moore and the rest of the Hollywood brain trust, who are they to criticize as if they ever had a meaningful thought.

I'm not sure who's confused here....
GREG: First you say Palin is not to blame, then you give several reasons why she IS to blame. She took a job she KNEW she wasn't qualified for....etc.

Obama is more qualified than Palin because he can accurately answer questions about American history and policy. She came off as stupid and there's no getting around that. Sarah Palin is a punchline and nothing more. If she had been unattractive there is ZERO chance she would have been picked. End of story.

She is very deserving of an emmy. Sarah Palin is dumber than a bull scrotum. It's hard for someone as smart as Julianne Moore to act that stupid.

She did a decent job. She could have made it easier and just gotten a pre-shoot lobotomy, but she did it the hard way, she acted stupid.

She wouldn't have had a part to play with Sarah Palin!! And she could never be as beautiful or vibrant! The people behind this book / movie are cowards. They unsuccessfully ran the McCain campaign and can't admit their faults – their scapegoat is Sarah Palin. And I'm surprised Tom Hanks has such disdain for Ms. Palin that he produced this piece of trash. He's not the gentleman I thought he was.

A great job!!! Please! Ms. Moore admitted herself that she did not spend one minute, not even 30 seconds with Sarah Palin. A lot of actors do that, to learn their character. But Ms. Moore did not. She just followed Tina Fey, CNN, MSNBC, The View, etc. to find out how to play her. Ms. Moore is a fake. She just wants to jump on that band wagon of Hollywood liberals who hate Sarah Palan, for some reason, I cannot figure!!!!! For God's sakes let it go. Sarah Palin did not make it to the VP house, she's not even in any political office, no threat to anyone. Democrats want to distract from what's really happening in America. So they just talk about ridiculous things, like Sarah Palin like she's some kind of terrorist we need to be afraid of. It's just a way to distract from the mess the last 4 years have been!!!!

originally wasn't going to watch this movie, because I find Sarah Palin to be one of the most obnoxious women in America. After hearing Steve Schmidt & Nicole Wallace say how realistic & on point this movie is, I then watched it. For those of you who don't know who they are, Schmidt was McCain's top senior campaign manager & Wallace was Palin's handler. Because Wallace was so distraught over the selection of Palin and knowing how absolutely stupid she was, she didn't even vote in that election. That's believing in your candidate! For those of you that absolutely love Palin, watch the movie. That woman is not qualified to be anything in politics. Dumb as a brick comes to mind. She couldn't even make through her term as being Govenor She has always been a glory hound, and in it for the money. She had her 15 minutes of fame, but apparently didn't get the message, because there she is spouting her right wing hatred on Faux News all the time. So if you want to be a Palin groupie, it shows how totally ignorant you are when it actually comes to politics. This woman had no business running for VP, and ruined the McCain campaign. The facts are the facts, people. Do some research! Or better yet, watch this movie about your little hero. I'll bet John McCain wished they would have vetted her better, otherwise, he may have had a better chance of winning that election.

I watched the movie, too. I have always disliked Palin, too. The movie just reinforced my views of her. The McCain campaign really screwed up by bringing her in as VP. If they'd won, she probably would have quit the VP, too. Not enough glory, and definitely not enough money for her. She is a shallow, unprofessional, uneducated, and a completely annoying person. My wish for her is to go back to Alaska, and hopefully we never hear from her again.

I know. Other actors who win awards for playing famous people will say nice things about the person they portrayed. For instance, Meryl Streep didn't agree with Margaret Thatcher politically, but she had the good sense to still give her credit for being an amazing woman. I guess Julianne Moore is too petty for that.
