Maksim Chmerkovskiy to exit 'DWTS'Get your fill of Maksim Chmerkovskiy while you can, because a rep for the longtime "Dancing With the Stars" performer has confirmed that Maks is getting ready to leave the ABC show. It seems Maks is interested in pursuing other opportunities, including acting and potentially a reality show with his brother, Val.
His rep said that Maks has decided not to renew his contract when it expires in 2014 - or in "DWTS" terms, two more cycles following the new season of "DWTS: All-Stars." That season will bow on Monday, for which Maks has been paired once again with Kirstie Alley. Speaking on his decision to leave after 15 seasons of "DWTS," Maks told the New York Post that he's ready for his career to take the spotlight. “Essentially, 80 percent of our job is to give somebody another push in their career or we make them into likable characters. But at the end of the day, they go off and they better themselves,” he said. “I loved doing it, but to be honest with you, at 32, I am at ‘what-about-me time.’” Love him or hate him, he's often a talking point for fans - will you be disappointed to see Maks go?

I met Max last weekend and he is the sweetest man!! REMEMBER........we see him on tv and it is called acting!! I have been a dancer for 15 years and I have had many teachers that talk just like Maks. It is called constructive criticism. If you cannot deal with it too bad. You are obviously not an athlete or you would know what that means. He is incredibly handsome and I will always remain a fan! So sad he is leaving, but wish him the best of luck in everything he does:)

he has a strong personality he wants his dancer to win...its called motivation. singing coaches are nasty at times also...not because they are mean but they know you can do it...
I hated Max! He had an arrogant, rude personality and I will watch the show more now that he's gone. I hated the way he treated his dancers, especially Kirstie Alley. He is NOT meant to be an instructor. He's just a dancer with an inflated ego and that's about it.

OMG CAN THAT MAN DANCE!!!!!!!!! Luv him, luv, luv,luv Maks. DWTS may aswell close up shop, as far as I am concerned with no Maks. He is the main reason I began watching the show & the only reason I continue 2 although it gets a little hard 2 watch with some of the partners they give him & when he has had great partners they screw him out of the trophy. He has been screwed soooo many times without being kissed on that trophy. MAKES ME ANGRY!!! U go Maks. Just b sure 2 get lots of publicity so your adoring fans (myself included) can keep track of u. Whttever happened 2 Etta or yetta (duh, can't remember her name right now) Gorgeous girl, superb dancer, just disappeared.
I'm happy to see Max go. I hated his arrogant, rude personality. He never had any patience with his dancers and is never meant to be an instructor in the first place!
maks is a very secure guy and gets in any new dance partners face he's attracted too. he doesn't worry about is it this or will it be that. he just does it and it goes the distance on its own.
Maks is fantastic! I will miss him on the show. His devilish personality and looks definitely add to the show. However, I think he usually gets paired with a celebrity who is not the likely one to go the distance and that has to be frustrating. Good Luck Maks.
Max is by far the best professional on this show. He is smart to further his own career. I believe DWTS is on a decline now anyway especially when you see that Palin girl back. What is wrong with you people at DWTS? She dance like a trained dancing bear in a Russian circus. I guess ABC just wanted her mother in the audience. If I had known I would have to see her mother, i would not have watched. One good thing, that baby looks just like his daddy. Live with that, Sarah. Anyway no one can replace Max!

I used to watch the show regularly, however, the show just lost my interest since the "stars" well just didn't add enough flavor to keep my interest. Most of the time you did not even recognize the guest dancers competing, not enough pull to hold my interest the show needed some top billing, which would have increased the viewership. Now, the interest by viewers has been in reality TV like singing or performance shows, modeling, acts, shows that allow the everyday common folk to take a shot to alter their financial future (fast track) just praying for their opportunity to be discovered changing their lives forever. Living the "American Dream" its what we all want.
I love Max and hate to see him go, but totally understand his decision. I think it's the best move for him after all this time on DWTS. Every season it seems he is paired with someone that needs a lot of work to have them look half way decent on the floor. Good luck Max in whatever you choose!!
Maks is just dancer. They are a dime a dozen. He can easily be replaced. Sorry Maks. He should be on his own anyway because his personality is not right for that show.
We will miss Maks and hope he makes better choices in his career next time.
Maks is a gutsy guy he'll make the right decisions that will suit him.
Maks and Louis Van Amstell are among my favorites on DTWS - Maks in particular brings a little color, some personality, that little "bad boy" something extra to the role of the pro - most of them are pretty much smiling "white bread." I will most definitely miss Maks – but wish him well and greater heights. (Also like Tony just because he seems so darn sweet!)
Yeah, some actor. I saw him in a commercial for a jewlery chain store playing a character who was, A dancer. I don't think he even spoke. And no, I'm not jealous. I have a great looking wife, he's a good dancer, he's not my type but I can see how the ladies would be attracted to him. He's not really not, "soul-mate", material though is he?

concert started 2 hrs late due to weather...35 songs....for some reason the show was even better last night can u believe he's 63..audience sang happy birthday...we all had our plastic rain gear on...he puts everything he

I'm leaving too. I heard Derek Hough, my favorite pro dancer, is leaving after this season. I won't be watching at all this season. I can't stomach watching Sarah Palin's offspring again. So long DWTS – it's been real fun for the most part.
i had been at his studio a number of years ago for another gig..it was most fun being there recently

Maks is the 'glue' that keeps us watching DWTS, and it will be a sad day when he goes at the end of 2014.
Before he does leave we would love to see Maks get the 'disco ball trophy' before future Oscars and other awards that he so truly deserves.. 😉
