Christina Hendricks on Gosling's directorial debutChristina Hendricks and Ryan Gosling in the same film is a selling point unto itself, but "Mad Men" star Hendricks has revealed a tidbit that'll undoubtedly amp up anticipation. Hendricks, 37, is set to star in her "Drive" co-star Gosling's directorial debut, "How to Catch A Monster." As previously reported, the film's being described as "a fantasy noir" in which Hendricks plays Billy, a single mother of two kids.
Gosling wrote the script with her in mind, Hendricks told New York Magazine's Vulture, and as soon as she read it she knew she was signing on. In the film, her character's "supporting two children and trying to provide a home for them and a place of comfort in a continuously harder place to be." To that end, Hendricks' character finds herself "working in this very surreal club that gets me into a sort of predicament, and in the meantime, these boys are off on their own adventures and they discover this underground city." What kind of club? "Fetish club," Hendricks hinted. OK, so we've got "fantasy noir," Ryan Gosling, Christina Hendricks, and "fetish club" - the details can only get better from here. |
