Who had the best VMAs performance?Awards are presented for music videos, sure, but the main reason we watch the MTV VMAs is to see the performances (and to see what crazy antics will inevitably happen ... although, this year's edition felt short on the crazy). Rihanna opened the show with a sensual performance of her songs "Cockiness" (which had an assist from A$AP Rocky) and "We Found Love." MTV VMAs: The Winners ListIn between performances from Rihanna, 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne, Green Day, Alicia Keys, Pink, Taylor Swift and more, the MTV Video Music Awards did take a few moments to hand out honors. Rihanna picked up the Video of the Year title with "We Found Love," while One Direction hit it big with three wins at Thursday night's ceremony. Check out the full list of winners after the jump: The awkward VMAs moment you were hoping for has been avoidedWhile even host Kevin Hart was hoping that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart would end up in the same room together at tonight's MTV Video Music Awards, it's not going to happen. Stewart's rep tells us that the 22-year-old actress will be on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival tonight supporting the screening of her film, "On the Road." Pattinson, meanwhile, will be left to introduce a clip from his upcoming movie with Stewart, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" with his other co-star, Taylor Lautner. Well, so much for that. But as Hart told us earlier this week, this is the VMAs - the one thing you should expect is the unexpected. What are you hoping to see tonight? The fun begins with a red carpet pre-show at 7 p.m. ET. While you were working ...Today's news you might've missed:
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKZj6lA9ICs&w=560&h=315%5D How Katie Holmes keeps perspectiveThe scrutiny has been intense for Katie Holmes this summer, and the media attention's only going to increase as she prepares for her first presentation at New York Fashion Week with her clothing line, Holmes & Yang. And while it would probably be understandable if she were frustrated by the severe invasion of privacy fame brings, Holmes tells Women's Wear Daily that really, it's not that bad. Ryan Gosling and 'Fifty Shades' rumors - we can dream, right?Ryan Gosling has long been on our list of actors who should play Christian Grey in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, and it looks like someone might've taken notice. According to the U.K. magazine Now, the husband of "Fifty Shades" author E.L. James, Niall Leonard, has said that the "last he heard" Gosling was one of the names mentioned in regards to who could play the sexy lead. But who knows - Leonard could've "heard" that a long, long time ago. Reps for author James told CNN they didn't have a comment on the rumor, and Gosling's reps have yet to respond. If this were to happen, though, we bet Universal, the studio behind the upcoming film, would have a mega-hit on its hands. Check out who else we'd cast as Christian Grey in the gallery above. |
