Honey Boo Boo beat the first night of RNC

You better redneck-ognize!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the TLC reality show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" did well enough Wednesday night among the 18 to 49 age demo to do better than the coverage of the Republican National Convention. THR reports that the series about the young beauty queen pulled in a 1.3 rating while the coverage of the convention by Fox News was its closest competitor with a 1.2 rating.

"Honey Boo Boo" improved on its previous episode of drawing 2.3 million viewers to this week attracting slightly less than 3 million.

Don't know the show but was curious (what is a Honey Boo Boo?). Now I know it's a show of some sort but I have to say without seeing it that the kid looks like there aren't many forks in her family tree.

If you looking for a reason what's wrong with our society – there SHE is!
Instead of doing some constructive things, we watch a hyped-up brat, that makes loads of money now with us watching.
Even worse: I invest my time to write about it..
    yuck..

I agree with People magazine, Honey Boo-Boo is the worst half hour on TV.

What a sad world we live in where something like this could be popular. Maybe it's attracting people like a roadside accident, the less intelligent or easily amused just can't look away. It's what made Springer so popular I guess.

This is out of context. It's comparing cable shows. So a 1.2 share on Fox News...What was the RNC share on NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox combined? Most people watching a convention (dem or repub) are watching on major networks. This article is poorly written. It suggests that this show beat RNC ratings. Not true. This show beat the RNC ratings on cable channels. Personally I wouldn't watch the RNC but this is a sad attempt by CNN to act like nobody was watching the convention. Google "Invisible Obama", it went viral last night. That doesn't happen so quickly if no one was watching

Not surprised! Honey Boo Boo and her jar of cheese puffs is infinitely more interesting than a bunch of white people wearing elephant belt buckles and red top hats.

That's because politics are way too much for Obama supporters to understand; this show appears to be closer to their intellect.

I'm pretty sure Honey Boo Boo watchers aren't primarily liberal. I'm not saying they're conservative either; I'm just having a hard time seeing the Obama-supporter/Honey Boo Boo connection, especially since uber-conservatives often paint liberals as being TOO intellectual. Honey Boo Boo is like anti intellect.

    • Hey Marie

Bite me! I'll go head to head with you any day when it comes to politics. I think you'd be surprised just how intelligent we libs are. You just go back & watch your little honey boo boo. I'm sure that's within your intellect. I'll bet you can even understand all her big words. I'll bet she don't lie like a Republican, either. You can't handle the truth, which is so very obvious from your snippy little post.

How is it that we stoopid Dems don't know anything yet our man was elected president and stands a fair chance of being re-elected. We also believe in evolution and global warming while Repubs think women have force-fields that protect them from being impregnated by rapists.
