While you were working ...

Today's news you might've missed:

  • If he used to perform with College Humor, we're betting that he'll be funny on "The Farm" too: Thomas Middleditch (left in the photo above) has been cast as Dwight Schrute's brother Jeb on the upcoming "Office" spinoff on NBC. [EW]
  • While some stars like to pretend that they're totally chill with the people who gave them life watching them get down and dirty on camera, Kirsten Dunst has been more honest. "I can't do that to [my Dad]," she's said of not filling him in on her latest movie, "Bachelorette." "I didn't even tell him there was an L.A. premiere." Which is exactly what we would've done, from fear of an awkward Thanksgiving alone. [E!]
  • It's probably a payday for some of you out there, so let's talk dollars and cents, specifically how they might relate to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes: Rumor has it Papa Cruise'll have to shell out $400,000 a month in child support until his daughter Suri turns 18. Frankly, we'd expect a hear a rumored higher number. [TMZ]
  • Also in money talks: Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban, who are said to be close to sealing a pair of deals with "American Idol." Minaj is rumored to be circling a deal that would offer $8 million, while Urban would reportedly pull in $3-4 million. [THR]
  • And speaking of Nicki Minaj - have you seen her music video for "I Am Your Leader"? [MTV]

Spike Lee, chronicling Brooklyn, heads to Red Hook

At first glance, Spike Lee's latest opus on Brooklyn might appear to be a straightforward story of an adolescent boy, in this case named Flik Royale, and the culture clash he experiences when he's sent to live with his grandfather over the summer.
