Mayim Bialik worked the red carpet on Monday - just five days after a car accident left her with a “very impaired right hand."
But the actress appeared to be in good spirits at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Performers Peer Group Cocktail Reception, accessorizing her gray dress with black pumps and a splint.
“[It] took a lot of people to get me here but we did it,” Bialik told Access Hollywood, adding that once the bandages and the splint come off there will likely be a scar “running through my whole hand.”
So how will the nominee for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series, for her role as Amy Farrah Fowler on “The Big Bang Theory,” dress her wound at the Emmy Awards on September 23?
“We had already planned on a long sleeve dress. I'm a modest dresser anyway. There are not many dresses that cover your fingertips though so it might take a little of expanding the fabric, trying to get this contraption in a sleek black,” she told People of her splint. “I don't think my stylist would let me bedazzle my splint.”
Bialik said her life off the red carpet is slowly getting back to normal, as well.
The morning of the reception, Bialik tweeted that she “trimmed my boys' nails successfully using only my left hand. Feeling like a capable mom again after my accident: priceless.”
TMZ was the first to report that the white Volvo Bialik was driving collided with another vehicle on Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue Wednesday.
Los Angeles Police Lt. Andrew Neiman originally reported that Bialik suffered “severe lacerations to her left hand and thumb.”
