Shia LaBeouf on sticking with indie films

Shia LaBeouf already made it clear that he won’t be involved in any forthcoming “Transformers” films, but it looks like his aversion to blockbusters runs deeper than Michael Bay’s billion-dollar franchise.

“I'm done,” LaBeouf told The Hollywood Reporter. “There's no room for being a visionary in the studio system. It literally cannot exist.”

The 26-year-old will next appear in “Lawless,” alongside Tom Hardy and Jessica Chastain. LaBeouf promoted the film, which hits theaters on August 29, at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

“I fought for ‘Lawless.’ I didn't jump onto anyone else's coattail and ride their wave,” he said.

Up next for the actor is Lars von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac.” (Nicole Kidman has reportedly signed on, as well.)

LaBeouf told the magazine that he took the role because writer/director Von Trier is “dangerous. He scares me. And I'm only going to work now when I'm terrified.”

What a load. The guy makes his fortune willingly starring in three sell-out cartoon, toy-based blockbusters and NOW tells us he's only going to only do risky (dangerous?) indies? How brave! How noble! What a crock.

This guy is 26 years old and has a career most actors would kill for yet every time I read or see an article about him he is whining and complaining about something. He started moaning about the industry when he was barely out of his teens.

He is a brat. He puts down everyone in his path including his parents. He is wealthy because of movies and his acting is bad. No class at all.

The guy who everyone knows whether they want to or not thanks to his selling out with the Transformer movies, genius. Better question might be: who are you? Wait. No one outside of your immediate family cares.
