Jason Sudeikis unsure if he'll return to 'SNL'

"Saturday Night Live" has already lost Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg, and it seems it's still in danger of losing Jason Sudeikis.

The actor/comedian told The Los Angeles Times that he's not sure if he'll be on board when the NBC sketch comedy show returns in the fall.

The 36-year-old actor/comedian has been placing more focus on his film career, and co-stars in this weekend's "The Campaign" alongside Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis. In addition to "The Campaign," Sudeikis has a number of film projects coming up - including playing the lead in 2013's "We're the Millers" - and the roles that have limited his contributions to "SNL."

"You start at 'SNL' when you're young and hungry, but I don't want my pro years to be my 'SNL' years," he told the paper. "This is me getting to play for K.U. or Duke or North Carolina, with pro-caliber people, but I don't want this to be it."

Although participating in "SNL's" political coverage during an election year could only raise his profile higher, that's not enough of a draw for Sudeikis.

Nine years in, he's ready not only for more responsibility, the actor told the L.A. Times, but also a more flexible schedule.

"I'd like the opportunity to use creative muscles that ... haven't been asked of me for the first nine years that I've worked there," Sudeikis said. "It could be some sort of title change. The least of the concerns is anything financial ... It's more having a desire to give more to a place I really believe in. To stay just for the juice of being in the public eye - of being Mitt Romney - is not enough."
