Trailer Park: Brad Pitt in 'Killing Them Softly'Brad Pitt's role in "Killing Them Softly" was a major talker at this year's Cannes Film Festival, and come October the rest of us will finally be able to see what all the fuss was about. In the meantime, we can check out Pitt's chain-smoking, gun-toting pro enforcer Jackie Cogan in the new trailer. [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCCBo0yh6YM%5D
"Killing Them Softly" once again pairs Pitt with writer/director Andrew Dominik, who wore the same hats with Pitt's 2007 film, "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford." In his latest project, Dominik adapts George V. Higgins' novel "Cogan's Trade," submerging viewers in the world of Pitt's Cogan, who's called upon to investigate a robbery during a mob-protected poker game. But Pitt's really just one piece of the crime movie's puzzle: As film critic Tom Charity noted when he saw "Killing Them Softly" at Cannes, "the movie boasts a vivid gallery of lowlifes and hustlers, including James Gandolfini as a contract killer belly-flopping into a midlife crisis, Ben Mendelsohn as a lippy Australian junkie, and Ray Liotta as an ill-fated gambler." Charity found the film to be "gripping, serious and atmospheric," and said that "Killing Them Softly" is "a crime movie that drug dealers, bankers and businessmen will understand equally well." "Killing Them Softly" opens in the U.S. October 19. What do you think of the trailer? |

Looks good, great storyline, has a dark gritty feel to it. Johnny Cash in the background, sounds like a song that god would sing when he knows there's going to be doing a bodycount. Way to go brad........

Brad pitt is overated.
Travolta is our real hero.
I husband will be thrilled that there's a new "mob" movie out.
His look explains why he's looked like a grease ball for the past few months. Gotta love Brad. I'm sure I'll love this flick.
Forgot to say....great casting!! Ray Liotta and James Gandolfini!!!
Can't wait to see it! I love Brad...............and Angelina!!!
"i live in america and in america you're on your own" lol. this looks like every awful crime movie cliche in the book.
I love his beard – Angie Jolie is awesome.
i gotta see this one.
I like Brad, however, I am not sure how I feel about him in this movie roll. My first reaction was not too good. Love Ray Liotta, and James of course perfect for the roll.
hey C'mon Eileen..we're not taking Brad Pitt to dinner...it's not "roll", like bread, a dinner roll...it's "role", as in his role in this movie..brush up on your grammar and get it right.
L M A O! Too funny!
Brad Pitt and Gandolfini reunited, they had a great scene together in True Romance.
just looked at the pic again: .diamond pinky wring, machine gun, leather jacket...wow! hot stuff! LOL
looking good for a 48 year old.
John Travolta was overheard saying "I'd do him."
