Brad Paisley being eyed for 'Idol' gig?

There's still one more seat open at "American Idol's" judges' table, and Deadline reports that Fox is seriously considering adding country star Brad Paisley to the mix.

Considering that some of "Idol’s" most successful acts - including Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCreery and Kellie Pickler - are country stars, Deadline speculates that Paisley could be a good move, as the genre clearly has appeal with "Idol's" audience.

There's also the success of country music's Blake Shelton on NBC's “The Voice” to consider.

No one from Fox or Paisley’s camp has commented on the speculation, and Paisley's actually on tour until November. While that would potentially make it hard for him to join the series during its normal audition period, it looks like the Grammy winner could be free and clear by the time "Idol" hits the airwaves again at the start of next year.

I think it’s a great step for American Idol to get Brad Paisley onboard. He’s a great singer and he has several hit songs on the charts, which makes him knowledgeable and he knows how the business works. I can’t wait to see if he takes the job and watch a dynamite duo with Mariah Carey as well. I will love the show more now that I can use the Auto Hop feature to skip the commercials too. I’ve been using the Auto Hop feature to skip commercials after my coworker at Dish showed me its function. It's a feature you can enable to automatically skip the commercials or watch them on primetime shows. The Hopper’s auto hop feature, still allows networks to advertiser their commercials, this feature eliminates the hassle of manually fast forwarding commercials, which's what most of us do. It’s wonderful, not having to worry about skipping the commercials and it gives my remote a break.

Not a country music lover myself but he may do an ok job although i think they need someone who has more expreience in producing also. Lets face it the show went down hill when Simon left and nothing or no-one is going to save it. J-Lo was way too nice everyone was great! Tyler was also too nice and Randy...well what up dog needs to go!

He would be a good choice - certainly better than Charlie Sheen or Jerry Lewis. Are you listening, Lithgoe??????

Brad Paisley would be a wonderful judge. He knows music. If anyone knows him then you know he is a fantastic musician. I would definately watch American Idol if he is on it. He would be a terrific judge.

My neighbor had a couple of bulls. I think the bull would win. I've had horses most of my life, so I know a thing or two. Either way, they are both huge, so it's an honor to be compared to either one of them. lol

I would be amazed if Mr. Paisley would wish to participate as a judge, but I am glad to see a country artist in consideration. We all know the disdain Simon Cowell held for country musicians/music.
