Overheard: Fred Willard promises 'full story to follow'We've heard from the police and a lawyer in the saga of Fred Willard's "lewd conduct" arrest last week, and now the actor himself has promised to share his side. The 72-year-old "For Your Consideration" star, who was in an adult movie theater at the time of his arrest, also seems to have a sense of humor about the situation. He posted on Monday:
On July 18, Willard was arrested when Los Angeles Police Department officers found the actor allegedly "engaged in lewd conduct" in an adult theater as the officers were doing a "routine inspection" on Santa Monica Boulevard. Willard was later released, but the arrest wound up getting him fired from PBS. The network told CNN in a statement July 19, “Given the unfortunate news reported today, effective immediately, Fred Willard no longer will be involved with the 'Market Warriors' series. Mark Walberg, the host of 'Antiques Roadshow,' will re-narrate the episodes already produced.” Willard's since reminded his fans on Twitter that he's still the host of ABC's new show, "Trust Us With Your Life," "so B sure 2 watch Trust Us [With] your life Tues, ABC 9," he wrote Monday.
