Queen Latifah 'serious' about adoptingThe topic of motherhood was brought up when Queen Latifah stopped by "The View" on Wednesday, and the 42-year-old actress revealed that she's still planning to adopt, a goal she's had for awhile. "I'm actually kind of working on that," she said. "I just always wanted to bring a child home. It doesn't matter where the child [comes] from."
And while Latifah's rep tells People magazine that there's "nothing new to report" on the baby front, Latifah assured Barbara Walters that she's "serious" about one day expanding her family. "I'm totally serious, so if you got a kid ... Just give me a year," she said. "Let me set up camp and send me the kid." She already has the family-friendly part down: Queen Latifah next stars in "Ice Age: Continental Drift," which opens Friday. |

We know she will be great in this capacity.
The only news I want to hear about Queen Latifah involves her finally admitting she's gay.
Awesome for anyone who adopts! To adopt a child has to be a very selfless act! Didn't know she was gay but to each his/her own!
Since she's black she will have to go to Europe and adopt a white baby to be considered cool in Hollywood. After all, all the white actresses adopt black babies.
studipasstupiddoes, I agree with you. Maybe she could adopt a kid from the British Royal family, since they send their kids to boarding school so young. Any kid would be lucky to have Queen La for a mom. She seems so down to earth, despite the cover girl makeup.
You are very ignorant my friend !!!!
Read up on the challenges that adoptive parents goes through, you clearly have NO clue!!
It's a very very long and emotionally mentally financially very very difficult process, you think the celebrities decide to adopt and few months after they have a child, soo much happening behind the seen you have no idea!!!
That's not how it works at al,l it takes years !!An average adoption takes between 2-4 years if you are lucky!! It also depends on if you adopt nationally or internationally!!!
It's still easier to adopt internationally. Due to the legal stuff! Check how YOUR system work and THEN comment!!!!
Does it really matter the color of the skin...? stupido!
who the F^%K cares?
Well, since you read the article and posted, an arguement can be made that you care.......and that you're (for some reason) mad about it.
Did she or Oprah come out of the closet yet?
Latifah is cool. I think she has a lot to offer to a child. I'm not talking money. But a good home and lots of love and caring. What more can a child ask for?
i think she'll be a great mom too.
good for her.
Although, she's absolutely right that her private life is her business, I can't help wonder how her partner must feel since they can't go out publicly because of the paparazzi. She must be bored out of her mind at home even if she does have the very best Queen Latifah's money can buy.
Jealous?
what . child eel be a lesbian to
She would be a wonderful mother. I had always hoped Oprah would adopt, but it doesn't look like that will happen.
Yes, that Oprah can provide for a swarm of children, let alone one. But she is annoying.....seriously annoying. Queen Latifah is awesome! And yes, I am black!
GOD BLESS HER!!!! She will make a 100 percent better parent then these idiots who can't care for an offspring!!!
Yep like Snooki..I feel sorry for that kid..
Why dont she just HAVE her own kids, is it that she's gay? I've never seen or heard of her in a serious relationship! But I love her !!!!
LOL!!! Um, that would be correct!
That can be a problem for gay couples. If only one of the them is actually the biological parent it can create some serious serious tension, just waiting to come out in arguement. And once those words are spoken "No, that's not our child, that's MY child", they can never be taken back.
Adoption is as fair a way as possible to get around that. And there are lots of perfectly good kids out there whose lives would be infinitely improved by having a permanent home.
And Queen Latifah is a heck of role model. Confident, true to herself, and giving. Come to think of it, it might be nice to see her tested by a child. Kids frequently shake all of those foundations, even in the best of adults.
Tell me when she gets serious about admitting she's a lesbian, till then – congrats Frank Ocean for being true to yourself and your fans.
You obiously didn't see the interview...
She's already admitted being gay.Do you want her to post it for a week like that Ocean guy?
