Report: Katie Holmes moves outTongues are wagging with reports that Katie Holmes has moved out of the home she shared with soon-to-be ex Tom Cruise and their 6-year-old daughter, Suri. According to People magazine, the 33-year-old actress was seen on June 28, the same day she filed for divorce, moving out of the New York City apartment in which the family of three lived together. Rumor has it she and Suri are going to live in another apartment in the city.
The new spot - which is said to be a three-bedroom pad that rents for between $10,000 and $12,000 a month - is reportedly close to the gymnastics studio where Suri takes classes. Cruise apparently was not home when Katie and Suri supposedly vacated the premises. The actor, who will turn 50 tomorrow, is actually in Iceland shooting the movie “Oblivion.” According to E! News, Holmes has hired New Jersey divorce lawyer Jonathan Wolfe and New York attorney Allan E. Mayefsky in the wake of the split.

I find all of this so very humorous. There is nothing wrong with Tom Cruise. We Americans just love to build someone up and then tear them down. So Katie just had to get away from Scientology so she could make sure her daughter is raised in a religion that hides and condones child molestation. Great move. Could it possibly be that she just doesn't love him any more and maybe never did but was just caught up in the aura that is Tom Cruise. He's a wonderful actor; and, so far as I can tell, a loving father. He continues to raise his other two adopted children, Connor and Isabella. Maybe he's just not a great husband. Other than being high profile actors it's a divorce people, plain and simple. Two people who don't want to be together any longer. He isn't being a jerk about custody or support. That makes him a bad guy????? I don't know that much about Scientology but it sure couldn't be any worse than any other religion/way of life and cetainly not any worse than Catholicism!!!!!
Scientology is based on a science fiction writer's desire to make money and get women.
You should read up on it. It is worse than any religion. Scientology isn't really a religion. It's a cult created by a science fiction writer. And it's main objective is to control your mind and your life. Holmes is a smart girl to get out of it with her daughter. Love oftentimes blinds us from making the right decision. You learn as as you grow.

Other types of licenses such as driver's licenses, professional licenses, etc. have one thing in common – they all expire in 3 or 4 years and need to be renewed. Marriage licenses should be the same. After a few years, they expire and if you still want to be married, you renew it. If you're sick of each other by then, you don't renew it and walk away. No divorce needed. This change should be made but ther divorce lawyers would block it.
I used to live in Clearwater FL, where the "church" is based. I even took the tour, out of sheer curiosity. All I can say is that by the time the tour was over, I couldn't get out of there fast enough!!! Crazy isn't even the word! It just appalls me how these maniacs have managed to obtain and keep tax-free status! That whole thing with Katie Holmes and Wack-Job Cruise always made my skin crawl; I am never all that interested in celebrity nonsense, but from having first hand interaction with those freaks I am honestly glad she finally escaped!!! She's going to need a lot of support, emotionally and otherwise, to be free and clear of those monsters, because they WILL stalk and harass her relentlessly!! Best of luck Katie!!!! <3

Only $10,000 a month? Many, she must be scrimping. It's obvious which commenters here are oblivious to the cost of living in NY. $500 will buy you a mansion in the po-dunk boonies – not NYC. A one-BR tiny loft in a decent part (where you don't get raped or mugged daily) costs around $1200-1500 a month –and that's just for a Joe-Schmoe nobody. Katie must be downsizing big time to save for the custody battle.

It's pretty obvious what took place here – Holmes is a devoted mother who does not want her daughter taken in by the brainwashers at Scientology. She is a hero in my eyes. Cruise is nearly insane with the power the Scientologists have bestowed on him. Yea, Scientology works for him because the members worship him and he has money to burn. But for the average person, it is a system to rip people off and then get them to rip other people off. Cruise needs to get outside help. This makes him look like more than a jerk.

I know PLENTY of couples where one of the partners is significantly older or younger than the other and everything is just fine. just because you've seen a few of these situations fail, doesn't mean they can't or don't work for anyone else.
My husband is 19 years older than me and we've been married for 32 years, very happily. Don't make broad statements. Divorce is sad regardless of who you are. Especially for children.

As a woman who survived a controlling spouse, this news thrills me to no end! She's has looked so miserable for years, the shell of the lovely young woman she once was. I can't imagine the nightmare her "dream" romance took once she went to the dark side. Look to your parents for solace and words of wisdom, for if I remember right, they had concerns when you got involved with Tom. Do not sign your rights away as Nicole did to her children.
