Robin Roberts: I will beat MDS"Good Morning America's" Robin Roberts is bravely facing a new health battle. The 51-year-old revealed Monday that five years after overcoming breast cancer, she's been diagnosed with a rare blood disorder that affects the bone marrow called myelodysplastic syndrome, or MDS.
"My doctors tell me I'm going to beat this, and I know it's true," Roberts said in a statement Monday, explaining that the disease was once known as "preleukemia." Her doctors tell her she's "younger and fitter than most people who confront this disease, and will be cured." Roberts starts pre-treatment today, and thankfully her sister is a bone marrow match, which "greatly improves my chances for a cure," she noted. The "GMA" anchor was diagnosed on the same April day that the ABC program pulled ahead of NBC's morning show, "Today," for the first time in 16 years. "Talk about your highs and lows!" she said in her statement, adding that she's been living with the diagnosis for a while, and plans to continue her work with "GMA." |

Robin, I KNOW that you are going to get through this and come out even stronger than before. So many of us are not knowledgeable about the "C" word...we tend to think of fiction, rather than facts.
I prayed for you this morning, to endure not only your treatment, but the loss of your lovely Mother–your "Rock."
Your Sister, who is strong and loves you beyond words.
How can I say and show the love and blessings that are in store for you? We are with you every step of the way in spirit.
"And, this too shall Pass....."
Stay beautiful Robin.
Some truly great information, Gladiola I found this. "Civilization is a transient sickness." by Robinson Jeffers.
Robin, I admire you and will certainly be praying for you. I too began watching GMA back when you and Diane Sawyer were co-anchors. As I read through these posts, I know you will be encouraged and strengthened because most of the individuals taking the time to write appear to have a sincere and genuine concern for the restoration to your health. As for the few negative comments, I know you will not be disheartened. I have come to realize there will always be haters in this life. Although I was appalled by some of the hateful and sinful remarks that some people took the time to write, I sincerely believe that they will one day come to reap what they have sown. Keep your faith in the Lord.
My sister, I too am a BC survival. Do know that we are a special people, more than a conqueror & with our Lord & Savior the head of our lives ALL things are possible. Be blessed & know I'm praying for you & just as God brought you through BC five years ago He will not leave nor forsake you now. For He said, "my grace is sufficient."
And you will beat this thing. Let me know when you're ready for a good breakfast. I'll bring it myself.
Did the breast cancer treatments cause this?
You actually make it appear really easy together with your presentation however I in finding this topic to be really one thing which I think I might never understand. It seems too complicated and very large for me. I am taking a look forward on your next put up, I will try to get the grasp of it!
Ms. Robin Roberts,
My mother asked me to reach out to you, she is an avid fan of yours and she is very unhappy to hear about your present health challenge. Her name is Myrtis McCullough and she asked if I would try contacting you to let you know about Dr. Robert O. Young, She believes as I do that he possess the knowledge that will help propel you through these times of crisis and help deliver you back to a life style of health and well being. So we urged you to at least seek him out and hear is message. He and his wife are the owners of PHMIRACLE LIVING. Their website is http://www.phmiracleliving.com. I pray that God allows you to receive this message and that he gives you the strength to receive Dr. Young\s information with the same wisdom and resolve that you have displayed hundreds of times during your sport and your professional broadcasting career. Know that our prayers are with you.
wmc
my prayers are with you and your family. you can defeat anything with gods help. you can beat it. love the bolen family.
Prayers are for Robin to beat this!!! Just a reminder this morning of how fragil life is. Made me put aside a petty argument that I've been having with my husband (a cancer survivor of six years now!) and just relish in our almost 35 years together! Robin, you go girl!
Let us all pray with Robin as she fights and win this battle. She and the GMA team are such darlings to listen to in the mornings.
Robin, I love you. U are such a nice, kind person and God will not let happen anything wrong with you, because of your positivity is your strength. We and our prayers are alwase with you. God bless you.
she got the spirit and will do well, now lets talk about the long term side effects of chemotherapy.....cuz this is becoming pretty common
Thank you to you and your family for sharing this very personal experience with the world. With a rare bone marrow cancer there are not many examples for African American women or women in general. At 44 years young, last year I received a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma and was facing the possibility of needing a bone marrow transplant. There are women who feel alone facing these cancers even though we have our family and friends praying for and walking with us. It does help to know you are not the only one going thru this type of diagnosis. Keep smiling, living and sharing, you and your family will be in my prayers.
Robin,Within all of our trials, God always gives us hope in the midst of it. I'm glad that your sister is a match and will play a big part in your healing but God is the great physician. Continue to fight the battle of the mind. It's hard but your display of grace is amazing and inspirational. God has great plans for you. Walk with Him every step of the way.
Robin, I've enjoyed following your career – I pray God will bring you and your family through this. And what a fantastic sister you have - God bless her heart!
Continue to stay strong and remember your fans are praying for you!
Robin- The Domino family will keep you in our prayers. Keep the faith and all things will work out through Christ Jesus.
We Love You!
My prayers are with you Robin...
My grandmother was diagnosed with this in May and died in December. 🙁 I hope Robin's outcome is better!
She probably got this from sitting down with the biggest liar in American history.
When did she sit down with you?
She sat down with YOU??????????
Ha! this is the lady that said that britney spears, gwen stefani, madonna, and other white artist (noting wrong with them) invented that hair braid. I was so mad, that's what she gets for making up bool S#@
Wow...you are wishing a sickness on her JUST because she said something about some silly braid and a group of entertainers. Then I wonder what YOU have coming to you just for being an idiot?
Roby....I luv you. I will pray for you. I watched you announce five years ago that you had cancer. You did it with so much grace and composure. you will surely weather this storm God bless you.
God Bless you Robi, you are a fighter, you are a champion, you are going to win this battle agia.I and my family are praying for you.be of a good courage, may the Holy Spirit comfort you and give you strength as you are going through this.God is able, one of his covenant name is Jehovah Rapha,He is the healer.God bless you my sister.Shalom
I wish i would have skipped the radiation part. it was a horrible decision for me. i was told a few lies in that whole process. They told me that if I only removed the lump, I HAD TO HAVE radiation (as opposed to removing the whole breast up front). There's a little flyer in the waiting room that says that you are going to get tired and they don't know why. I believe that's a lie. How can they not know that radiating your bone marrow would make you tired. They also told me that they were only going to radiate a small corner of my lung. That's not what happened. They radiated the whole lung and i already had problems breathing from an occupational exposure. I was in bed for about three years. Too tired. There were plenty of other things they said that make you realize what a crock this system is. somehow i managed to survive the thing.
Ditto here – been thru the same ordeal as you. After radiation I was diagnosed with "BOOP", a lung infection caused by the radiation. What a nightmare for us, huh? Sometimes the "cure" is worse than the disease!!!
Tell me something I don't know .Radiation is nothing more than licensed torture ..They give you enough to make a grizzly
bear sick .Rad. treatment isn't any better now than 20 years ago..Only thing different is the price..Somebody has to pay for the exhorbitant equipment - it's you ..500,000 a year die undergoing Chemo. and radiation treatment.. They never publicize that ..They – the Medical Comm. always use the scare tactics to get you to be tortured ...
I'm usually disgusted by what people typically write in response to various articles/videos, but it is REALLY disturbing to see so many of the filthiest comments made about someone's life-threatening illness. No one is immune to misfortune or illness and it CAN happen to you or someone you love at any given time and I'm sure you're not going to want someone poking fun at that. Why are you people so disgusting??!
It should happen to more of his minions. You help him, you hurt americans.
Robin may God Bless/Strengthen/ and Heal you. Don't listen to all the negative remarks that come from some cold hearted non- caring people. People who take the time to write such mean and nasty remarks about anyone who is ill or sick are nothing more than rotten souls who have nothing better to do with their time. I believe that being mean and nasty somehow makes them feel better about their misrable selves. To compare a woman fighting for her life to a stupid interview that she gave to a individual who beat up a woman is not just wrong it is ignorant. (By the way she did not ruin the person's livelihood he did when he chose to beat up a woman). He seems to be moving forward and I don't think even he would make such a nasty remark. All of you who make mean remarks about people without walking in anyones shoes should be ashamed of yourself. Compassion and Love is what we should all have for one another instead of so much negativity and mean spiritedness. Robin Adopt the saying that Ellen Degeneres said the other day when I watched her show. She said that her haters were her motivators. You focuss on getting better and don't let anyone else's negative comments pull you down. Don't read them and move forward because people like that are not worth your time. Focuss on the positive. May God Be With Throughout Your Fight. God Bless and Good Luck.
My son was born with this disease. Although, because he also has Down syndrome and about an 80% chance of leukemia, he doesn't qualify for a BMT. We have to save it to save him from the leukemia.
I would be interested to find out if Robin has been on Tamoxifin after her breast cancer. I know if at least three people who were and all developed MDS. Hmmm.
You should contact her. Your gut instinct is probably right. I believe that there is a plant on this earth to cure every illness. You can not chemically alter a plant and expect it to have good properties. You can not patent a plant. That is why pharmaceutical companies alter plants or extract the key components. I would look into rooibos(African Red Bush Tea) for a natural aid for your child. Stay strong in your struggle.
No one cares.
You will be my in my prayers everday as you face or your fight to beat this. We so enjoy the entire GMA family every morning, than you all for all you do.
Jack...apparently people do care...that's evident in the supportive posts to this article. Just say you don't care and let that be it. I sincerely doubt your dumb a$$ can speak for all the other compassionate, caring folks out here.
Speak for yourself, idiot.
Robin, after that nasty ambush you pulled on Chris Brown and telling him you wouldn't bring up the Rheanna stuff just before going in front of the cameras, I have no sympathy for you and the karma you brought upon yourself. I am ambivalent as to the outcome you receive. Just remember to never again lie, cheat, and ruin someone's livelihood like that again by using your presence on TV. Life is fleeting and you helped ruin another's for your own agenda. Seems that cancer has an agenda too, huh?
You are an imbecile....
People like YOU should be the ones stricken with the painful and deadly diseases.
RIH.
Sorry, you're sick. Will you retire now? You aren't a good newscaster. You aren't funny. You make me long for Deborah Norville – heck, move Sherry over from the view. At least she can make me laugh.
Oh, and take Barbara Walters with you!
Aren't you nice? Well, she's not exactly a 'newscaster' but they aren't supposed to be funny! And – Norville – are you kidding? So we can watch her adams' apple jump as she talks? She is NOTHING compared to Robin! Robin is smart and kind and great at her job!
Robin, So sorry to hear you are having to go through this. You have so many people behind you sending you positive thoughts and prayers. You are as beautiful on the inside at you are on the outside!! You make GMA and will continue to do so. I always tell my 7yr old grand daughter...NGU...Never Give Up! Prayers and Best Wishes, Robin.
What is so new with this news? I have friends with the same illness and they don't go to the news and talk about and not everyone is writing to them good wells ,is she the only one in the world ?is least she can pay her bills she has tons of money ,some of people I know can't even afford to pay the medical bills.....suddenly everyone is feeling sorry for her ,while many in this world are having the same illness and are in worst stages..........such a fakes .......
Robin, I have MDS, too. Of course, most people don' uderstand it.. I just wanted to let yuo know that I undesrtand and you will be in my prayers. I have had MDS for five years and I keep up the fight everyday. I wish you much succeees and love
Michaele
Give it_hell_girl...
We will all be praying for Robin. She is the best.
Go away. I dont care about every celebrity with a hang nail. Whatever happened to suffering in stoic silence?!? Whatever happened to dignity and class?!?
I cried when I heard. It's not fair for such a good person to keep getting kicked by fate. But if anyone can kick back and beat this, Robin can. I agree with Bridget. You feel like family to me and I hurt for you. My prayer list just got longer!
They say whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger... Robin is a female Hercules.
This is an unfair fight for the MDS....it picked the wrong person to mess with! Robin, you are so beautiful and so strong. We will all fight this with you and we cherish every single morning we get to see your smiling face. Get it girl!!! xoxo
Well said. Robin is a class act. She will beat this with a stick !
Somebody in heaven seems to want her...badly.
Hi Robin:
You are "one in a million" and I love you being a part of GMA. I love the show and your beautiful smile. My prayers are w/you and your sister. Take care and I know you will win the battle.
All lesbians have a blood disease. It's called SIN.
John... go back to your church and play with some snakes. @sshole.
you are one sick puppy!
on a kinder note, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of trouble. go girl, beat this disease!
what a pure person you are!!!!!
John, you are sick and you need help, who are you to post against lesbians. you're day will come.
You, John, are hateful and Jesus would condemn you as he did the Scribes and Pharisees (religious zealots of his time).
God detests hypocrites like you. So do intelligent people who look forward instead of backward for their destiny. If there were such a thing as hell you'd be going there to burn. It's all fiction however and history is now in the process of crushing the deluded, aka you and yours. Primarily by thrusting you all into poverty and finally, hopefully a bit of common sense. So go back to your easy way out of reality but please keep the inappropriate responses to those mental hallucinations quiet in front of decent people.
John,
Obviously you do not read the Bible because it states that "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Or how this one: Matthew 7:1-5 "Judge not, that you be not judged.", Or even this one: Galatians 5:14
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Right on John and don't forget the interview with the liar in chief also. Damnation, a heck of a thing to waste.
Its obama's fault
Everything is Obama's fault .. but as always he'll just blame Bush
Our prayer with you. Think positive to be strong...
Please robin get better for all our sakes. Good Morning America will not be the same if my husband couldn't watch you every morning. We talk about the news together and he compliments you on what you wore that day. I now that that are many mountains to climb in life but we know that you have so many people praying for you and you can beat this like you beat the breast cancer, God is with you.
robin, you are smart, beautiful and a great tv anchor .....millions of people are pulling for you....wish you a speedy recovery.....
Hi.robin.may.god.be.with you.god.bless n take care ofyourself
Robin has shown over and over in her life that she is a fight. As with her past challenges, she will triumph once again!
I was diagnosed with MDS at age 25 and had a stem cell transplant from an unrelated donor. I will celebrate my 4 year anniversary in July, having all good check-ups since. Her odds are incredible with all of the advances being made and the fact that her sister is a match. I was very fortunate to have a few perfect matches in the registry since nobody in my family was a match, but too many people are unable to find matches and that needs to change. I am sure Robin will be a tremendous spokeswoman for BeTheMatch and encourage more to join the registry for bone marrow donation. Prayers are with you Robin!
Wonderful Post Matt L. and agree Robin would be a great spokesperson!!! Happy to hear of your success and 4 year anniversary, and wish you many more healthy anniversaries, and extend the same positive thoughts to Ms. Roberts for the same successful outcome! Peace, out.
Thinking about you and will continue to for this new challenge. You are strong, otherwise healthy, and bring a lot of class, joy and common sense to your work. You are respected and loved for what you do and are. Be brave and God Bless!
She's one of the most genuine and for that reason (and more!) genuinely likable people on TV. I hope the doctors are right... What a break that her sister is a match!
No God. No heaven. But Robin beats this with modern tech, human will and luck.
Unfortunately, there is a flip side to this coin. And that is that Sarah Palin continues to waste oxygen.
Robin: never ever eat food that is cooked or warmed up in a microwave. this causes leukemia. read the book " timeless secrets of health & rejuvenation" by Andreas moritz.
Show me the science. Ooga booga. Microwave what?
I'll add my thoughts and - yes, prayers, even though I'm not religious - to the well-wishers for Robin, such a talented, beautiful woman. We're behind you, Robin!
We know she will beat this discease.
We love and respect her and she will beat this.
dear robin, i heard about your disease, and regardles of what people say always remember God is a healer, a way maker, and everything else. He brought you thru once and he will do it again. He will never leave you of forsake you,so keep the faith and I will keep you and your family in my prayers
Pray and go to the doctor or maybe I should say go to the doctor and pray
@ Carlton! What on earth are you talking about? This is not a Obama issue! Grow up!
@ Claudia. you make no sense! good things happen to bad people? have you lost your sense of reality? bad things happen to good people plain an simple how you could say you love it when people say bad things happen to good people behooves me.
stop it.
You are being very rude, Oscar.
Robin truly must be one of the most likeable people in television. I hate to see her have to go through another challenge like this but I know she will come out of it shining like a star and being an inspiration as always. There are too many of us that need her to brighten our day.
For a network "talking head" she seems like a very smart and a very nice person – we wish her a quick victory.
wish you well and speedy recovery.
My grandfather had this. I wish nothing but the best for you and your family.
Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (delivered). Obama is not your Savior or Deliverer, only Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ alone! So whatever Obama says means nothing, unless He agrees with and says what God says! Recent interview, hint, hint...
Best wishes Robin. The prayers of my family are with you.
The odds are in her corner because I believe the spirit of God is in her and through him all things are possible.
I love when people say "why do bad things happen to good people" , no one is all "good".. so it should be.. with the world today, why do GOOD THINGS happen to BAD PEOPLE..
Robin,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May God continue to bless and keep you in his tender loving care. Remember, God steal heals.
My thoughts and prayers are with you Robin. You are a fighter. You WILL beat this too. God Bless You and your journey of beating this disease.
My Mother had MDS...Diet helps. Make sure you have lots of healthy choices.
Robin – You are a winner...No weapons formed against you shall prosper....
It is possible that the treatment Robin received for breast cancer may have led to this problem. If you are interested in a new, and very different idea, for the origin of cancer and its treatment please visit newalternativecancertherapy.com. Thank you.
Kathy, Where were you when Robin very clearly stated that this was due to her breast cancer treatment? Duh!
HI ROBIN MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU I HAVE MDS ALSO BUT IT DIDNOT EFFECT MY BONE MARROW I HAD A BONE MARROW BIPOSY AND IT CAME BACK OK BUT I HAVE TO RECEIVE A SHOT OF A MED CALLED ARANESP ONCE A MONTH FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE SO HANG IN THERE AND YOU WILL COME OUT A WINNER ALWAYS IN MY THOUGHTS

Robin, we are all praying for you to have a full recovery! We have all watched you since your early days on TV in Georgia and have been fans ever since. You feel like a friend and we support our friends wholeheartedly. You continue to fight and keep that wonderful spirit you have! We love you, girl!
i'll be praying for you Robin
You will be fine!
hang in there!
You are always an inspiration in all that you do. My cousin had this and survived. You will make it through. All the love and prayers I can send you!
Robin, my husband is in the hospital going through treatment for MDS and a possible bone marrow transplant. We watched GMA this morning together in his room and could truly empathize with you. You will be in our thoughts and prayers in the days ahead and we pray that God will give you strength during this challenging time. We admire you so much for being able to discuss it on TV. Will look forward to hearing good news.
Robin you will win this battle as you did with cancer!
Robin, I love you and you will certainly be in my prayers, God is The Healer!
My prayers are with you. You beat breast cancer you will beat this.
http://www.Hear-The-Truth.com
Special lady, FIGHT LIKE A GIRL!. . . .and you and others like you are my reasons to RELAY! In our home, we will pray for you and your family, including your sister who will also be going through invasive treatment. God is in the business of miracles!
My mother is going through the same exact things. She is a breast cancer survivor and after 7 years she developed MDS. My brother is so generously donating his bone marrow because he is a better match. Her surgury is scheduled for July 17, 2012. If you are interested in giving some support or guiding words to my mom, please email me and I'll link you to the Facebook Support page. Gorzo41@gmail.com. I really would love her to talk to people who are going through the same difficult time or who have survived this disease.
My prayers are with your mother and your family. I will also keep Robin Roberts in my prayers and her sister, who I used to watch as a news anchor in New Orleans. A good friend of mine has been battling bone marrow cancer for several years, but he is still in the fight. He went through chemo treatments, stem cell therapy and is now preparing to go through a bone marrow transplant. His brother is the donor. I pray for all to be Blessed with a full recovery.
I watch the show every morning and admire you for everything you do. You are a beautiful lady and I wish you the best. I know you will beat this. You will be in my prayers.
A lady with class, genuine accomplishment and completely competent has earned the right to be well. And may I join the legions of fans who wish you exactly that!
Good Luck
This will make it near impossible for ABC to replace her with someone more capable and refreshing to look at.
You are a bitter person...how does it feel to get satisfaction from the misery of others. TROLL ALERT!
Best wishes for an effortless recovery. She's a fine woman, and unfortunately got dealt a poor hand.
Good luck, Robin We love you! Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Stay strong!
Why do bad things happen to good people? She'll win this fight just like the 1st one. Good luck to ya Robin Roberts.
Woody, Coments like yours have a habit of bouncing back. Watch out in the future.
Hello Robin,
You are in my prayers and thoughts also you have already beat this..... You are a strong and beautiful Mississippi woman.. Hang in there Home Girl !!! We love you... PAP
Hard to believe, but some drugs have major side effects that include cancer, which leukemia is. It's possible the drugs that saved Robins life also caused the pre-leukemia. My dad had a kidney transplant and one of the anti-rejection drugs was Sandimmune that has a "side effect" of lymphoma cancer, which he died of.
As much as is possible from an outsider's perspective, I love you as a journalist, engaging personality and as an authentic person. Be strong knowing that millions of admires are praying for you. Blessings!
Her first problem – like most- is that she relies on the stupidity of her doctors. If she would have taken PREVENTIVE products- she wouldn't have any problems. Instead, like most- she's REACTIVE- not PROACTIVE. She's no role model. Plus, she's not that good of a reporter either.
Oh......go crawl back under your rock.
You're an AH
This is a silly and baseless comment. The drugs that she likely received for breast cancer have a long PROVEN track record of saving lives. NONE of the remedies that you are likely referring to have undergone anywhere near the scrutiny (if any) that these breast cancer drugs have undergone. Unfortunately, blood disorders following chemotherapy are a rare but well described secondary effect. It is unfair to blame Robin for some sort of unproven preventative treatment that could do as much harm as good for all we know. It's fine to have baseless opinions, but when you start blaming others for events out of their control, that's where the line must be drawn.
Get that step ladder out and use it so you can see over that earth worm's back.
JS, what a mean spirited comment, may karma be kinder on you than you were to Robin. She doesn't deserve that MR./MRS Perfect...not everyone has the same information when burdened with medical issues so maybe informing and not condeming would have been an act of kindness. Remember, what we give and what we recieve and even those that follow closely to the best health advice often end up with disease because their spirit is not pure...beware...
So you think all illness is preventable? Think again. Clearly you are just going out of your way to be a jerk. Why is that? Is your life that bad?
I have more faith in my "imaginary" friend, than some people have in their real "friends".
LOL. That was a good comment.
You are the bravest and always so encouraging. Sending loving wishes your way as you beat the MDS. God Bless.
Good Luck Robin. I have been a fan of you for many years. I pray your treatment will be successful and your good health returns soon. A long time fan. May God watch over you.
my love and prayers are with you "ri ri" you are indeed a fighter,,try herbal medison, they biter, it will heall you once and for all in god willing, you the recomend pls contact this mail adress all shall be well. by the grace.
Sending you some love, Robin. You're the bravest woman on daytime television. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Oh, boo hoo.
Some people (you) are just so small.
Some people (you) are just so fat.
You must feel mighty hiding behind your dad's computer. Probably surfing through his stash of man pr0n as well.
Harder, Daddy, harder! Give it to me, Daddy!!!
Wishing you all the best in your battle, Robin. I know you will beat this, too! You are in my prayers...
Robin, I have no doubt with your spirit, your faith, your family and all our prayers, you WILL again be triumphant over this medical challenge. We'll all be praying and pulling for you. God bless you and your sister and the medical team who will care for you both during this journey. Thank you for sharing with us so that we can keep you lifted in prayer.
Robin, there is not much that needs to be said....you already know what to do and you and i and everyone else knows you are a winner and will beat this. My prayers will never stop for all of you who are fighting the battle. We all love you and the Almighty God Bless You. 🙂
It is very important to have the total dependence on Jesus Christ. I am Deaf. In 2004, I was diagnosed with MSD. For about 6 months, I was given frequent transfusions and also on medication. In 2006, my brother is a bone marrow match, so I underwent a bone marrow transplant at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. It was successful, but I went through graft-versus-host disease some times. It was very difficult for me and my family, so I surrendered myself totally to Jesus Christ. He faithfully has been working through me. Now, I have been a bone marrow transplant survivor for 6 years. Have a faith in Jesus because He is the Great Physician, so He will heal you.
Sounds like the doctors saved your life, not your imaginary friend.
As a minister's wife, who certainly had plenty of faith, I was struck by an unusual disease. All the prayers and faith of the community have done NOTHING to heal me. I have spent years entirely bedridden despite all those prayers.
Sometimes, Jesus does NOT heal you, because you can do more good if you're unwell. I lost my paying job due to my health, but have found my niche as a support group leader (online) and educator/activist. I'm affecting far more lives and doing far more good flat on my back than I was when I was working in an office and had to fit the letter and article writing around my paying job. I can now answer those calls for emotional support round the clock.
lordy Lordy Jesus save this woman.
Dear Robin please hang in there. God is good. Peace and love
My thoughts and prayers are with you Robin. You are a true fighter and I admire greatly admire you!
We are here for Robin and all MDS patients and families as they face the challenges of dealing with a rare bone marrow failure disease. Visit our Web site to learn more about the resources and support available. http://www.aamds.org.
Hi Robin I admire your streghnth. I wouldnt be able to deal with these type of issues. I will keep you in my prayers. Keep up the great work!
Prayers and thoughts to Robin to overcome this disease.
Maybe she should try a man and things might get back to normal.
Nice cheap shop, Gizmo
nice....Did you think of that one ALL by yourself, or are you mad cause she won't "marry" YOU
So, Woody...u seem so aplomb abt being with a man, maybe what's good for u isn't good for others:D JAH!
You're a freaking IDIOT!!!
Hey Woody, sounds like you talk from experience. When did you start with men?
You comment makes me wish CNN allowed profanity. What's wrong with you?
You're such an ass
Thank you for alerting the rest of the population to your healing powers as a male (what, I don't know).
Judge not Woody
Money can sure fix a lot! Seriously though, I wish her the best. But, it's important to remember that her financial wellness is a huge factor in her coming through this disease.
Why do you say that, what does finance have to do with it?
finances has a lot to do with it! I have no health insurance no Dr. will touch you without it where I live.. They send you to a sub par clinic and they have no idea what they are doing... I take a blood thinner and what did the quack at the clinic tell me to do, take Advil ....first of all I take blood thinners, and what does Advil do, it thins your blood there for this Dr. told me to take something that clearly I am NOT to take... first thing they told me 10 yrs ago when I started blood thinners, don't take this, eat this or drink that.......that is what finances have to do with it.... you don't get quality care
Robin, I prayed for healing when you was diagnosed with breast cancer, and I was relieved you came through with flying colors. I will continue to pray for a special healing for this new medical crisis. I enjoy watching you and the gang in the mornings. Stay strong, and don't give up!
I agree with u Lil. Robin is a strong peson. I will pray for her too.
Robin you are my namesake, I'm a few years older than you. Yes my name is Robin Roberts, I know with every fiber of my body and soul you will emerge from this stonger than ever. You are in my prayers.
I stopped watching GMA along with the other 3 mainstream media back in 2004, but I did wish Robin all the best of luck in battling MDS and bringing awareness to the illness.
No one cares nice way to put a pretentious comment disguised in a well wish.
you make my mornings bright; all our love and prayerful wishes for a speedy recovery; we all went thru breast CA with you and please let us love you thru this also.
This past November i was diagnosed with mds and I am confused about it all still. i wish you all the luck in the world in your fight.
And all the best to you as well, Terra.
Live Strong, Robin.
I like Robin on GMA better than any of the morning hosts...hope everything turns out well for her...
Robin, I've been watching you for years and plan on watching you for many years to come. Anyone who can overcome breast cancer can beat MDS too. You're a fighter, a survivor, and a very strong woman. You will be filled with thoughts, love, and prayers from all your family, friends, and fans. Stay strong woman and never give up the fight!
I enjoyed watching you on ESPN and now on GMA. Wishing you the very best and a speedy recovery. God Bless
RObin my strong black sister. God brought this to you cause he knows you could facing. God is always with us.
What's black got to do with it?
this lady is a class act and hopefully she'll get better.
It's great to see so many positive comments, no haters! What a corageous woman. She is someone that will never give up!
Robin you are a strong women which I admire very much. I've been watching good morning america for a while now. I look forward watching you & the rest of the crew every morning. Thank you for your smiles & your dedication and for making me feel like part of the family. I pray that our heaving father fill you with his armor, grace, strength and most of all his love. Remember that through your trials & tribulations you grow stronger & wiser. I have always said that though we may go through the fire we will not get burn because we have lots of blessing coming "our way". Best of Luck & Be Strong. We are here for you!
I too have been diagnosed with MDS, just about 2 years ago. I am a little confused with the article saying Robin will be cured and a bone marrow transplant will do it. I was told that a bone marrow transplant was not a guarantee and it was very dangerous. Since MDS patients have very little resistance to infection to totally kill the red blood cells takes an enorumous chance if the transplant is not successful. The body can not fight any infection. My hopes and prayers are with Ms. Robert's and hope she is successful in beating this disease.
Ms. Robins, your courageous words filled my heart, along with your co-worker's who surrounding you. Laura asked you, "you needed anything Robin", well I would have asked you the same, but then what I feel you need is prayers. So you will be on my list. God protect you and you sister in this life saving endever. Please keep us posted.
Sometimes you have to double down when adversity hits. Ms. Roberts appears to be doing just that. Keep up the good work and keep healing; if anyone can beat this you can....
Hey Robin, I'm having a personal chef cook dinner for me and 9 friends on June 22 7pm, you, your mom and sister invited. You'd be the guest of honor-name your menu.
I am so sorry to hear you are sick after all you have been through. I wish you the best and hope all turns out well.
My dear friend just died from this disease after having a bone marrow stem cell transplant last November. Robin, you've got one hell of a fight in front of you – God bless and God speed
You Robin have been a God sent BLESSING to Good Morning America and I was never faithful to watch until you arrived since that day I have watched religiously and have enjoyed every day except when you are not there! God be with you on this journey as I know He will and also with your family believe me I know many who are praying for you as I am not the only one who feels this way!God Bless You in all the days ahead and my prayer is and always will be that God blesses you in a special way being the very special person that you are!
Robin I just heard your announcement. You are one of the bravest and stongest women I have had the pleasure of watching daily. And with your Faith and the Love of your family and friends (and us that veiw ) you will beat this. You will be in my thoughts and My Prayers daily... You go girl !!!!!!
Been a huge fan for years (since you were an anchor at ESPN)...keep up the great work and I'll pray for your health!!
Been watching you since ESPN & still enjoy your smiling face every morning. From Bristol to NYC, you've brought your A game constantly. Two phrases come to mind from two very courageous individuals such as yourself; Jim Valvano saying "Never give up" & Walter Payton's words, "Never die easy". Keep fighting, gal, we all love you! Stay strong & God Bless!
My husband had MDS and consumed apricot pits and shark cartilege... seriously. His blood work has shown no MDS for the last ten years, even since he's given up consuming the pits. Good luck to you.
Huh?????????????????
Ms. Roberts, I will not pretend I am your biggest fan because that goes to your mother I'm sure, but I am definitely one of your greatest admirers and fan. I have watch you over the years at different levels in your career and I am very proud to say that I think you are the best ESPN anchor to ever exist in my opinion. Of course you are the best morning host that goes without saying; 16 years and it took you and your co-host to dethrone those NBC busy bodies. Love you and thanks for all that you do. Stay blessed and put your God first.
I forgot, it sucks that I have to watch GMA on a 24 hour delay, darn Middle East don't know what they are missing.
My prayers and thoughts are with Robin Roberts!!! What an amazing strength this will take but I know she will be okay. My brother has fought and won his battle with ALL. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It was hard road but he's in remission now. (I was his bone marrow donor as well)
Good thoughts and vibes coming Robin's way!!!!
Good morning Robin. I want you to know that YOU are the epidemy of strength, you give me strength. God is good and your faith will enable you to beat MDS. It will be GFG...gone for good , God will take care of it. I love you Robin. You appear to be such a down to earth individual. I am praying for you and the ability to beat this. Tell your sister I am praying for her also. I hope all goes well for you at the doctor today and all that you must go through. Take care. Please tell the Sam, Josh, and Lara hello. Keep the faith!
Robin, Watching you most mornings; I feel like you're my sister. Take care and GOD Bless! YOU have already beaten this disease. You and your family are in my prayers.
I know you will beat this. My 10 year old grandson went through the same same a year ago. He was blessed with having a sibling donor, which is the best thing to have, and today he is doing great and is cancer free. I will be honest, it was not an easy thing for him to go through but he was amazing through the entire thing. My heart and prayers are with you as I know what you face. You are loved by many and admired by more. May God be with you, we are.
My love, prayers, and admiration are with you as you face this trial in your life. Your determination and faith will bring you through with flying colors. God blessed you with a wonderful sister who is there to stand by you and help you in every way. May God be with you and give you strength. Thank you for all you do.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I feel like you're family from watching you daily. All the best Robin.
My prayer is with you every day!
God is able, just trust in him. we are praying for you.
