While you were working ...

Today's news you might've missed:

  • John Mayer, humiliated as he is, will hopefully find comfort in still having the No. 1 album in the country. After dissing Tay Swift like that, though, we're not placing our bets on next week. [Billboard]
  • Stephen King on Ray Bradbury's death: "The sound I hear today is the thunder of a giant's footsteps fading away. But the novels and stories remain, in all their resonance and strange beauty."[StephenKing.com]
  • Somebody call a Zack Morris time-out: Mark-Paul Gosselaar has betrayed our 12-year-old selves, saying in an interview that "Saved by the Bell" isn't "a great show." Yes, he's right, the writing was pretty corny, but there's a reason it's been in syndication for so long. [Yahoo!]
  • Kris Humphries apparently has a type (busty brunettes who, um, really, really enjoy makeup) if this is indeed his new paramour. [HuffPo]
  • Gisele Bundchen just might have another bun in the oven. [Us Weekly]
  • Kanye West, when not creating Nikes that can sell for $80k a pair on Ebay, is releasing new music videos. Behold, the (explicit, so we can't embed it here) clip for "Mercy": [YouTube]
  • Need a closer look at Miley Cyrus' 3.5 carat engagement ring that's "crafted in 18-karat gold with diamond floral motifs in an art nouveau pattern" (hey, that's the description!)? Peep the link. [People]
  • John C. Reilly's "Wreck-It Ralph" gets a trailer, and we get nostalgic:

Charlize Theron on her 'creepy' charity date

When you hear of celebrities signing up for those date auctions that benefit charities, you don’t normally find out how the date went.

But Charlize Theron wasn't shy about spilling the details to Conan O’Brien Tuesday night, saying that the auctioned date she agreed to was so “weird," she doesn't plan on doing another one.

"They trick you with the whole people are suffering thing," she said. "Rich people can be creeps too, they can rape.”

Check out the video for the full story.

Will Marvel give the Black Panther a movie next?

The movie site Latino Review reports that the company that recently blew the roof off the movie industry with its superhero-ensemble movie “The Avengers” would like to do the same with another proposed franchise built around the Black Panther, which first made its appearance in 1966.
