Michelle Rodriguez: No Oscar nod for Nicole Kidman“Avatar” star Michelle Rodriguez may have stepped in the proverbial hornet’s nest with some eyebrow-raising comments she made in France recently. The outspoken actress was speaking to New York magazine's Vulture last week at an amfAR event when she offered her take on Lee Daniels’ new film “The Paperboy.” To the question of whether one of the film’s stars, Nicole Kidman, could potentially earn an Oscar for her controversial turn in the flick (she "pees" on co-star Zac Efron in one scene) Rodriguez promptly shot the possibility down. Her reason? Kidman's neither “black” nor “trashy.” Russell Brand's good for a (pseudo) lap danceWhen chatting with comedian/actor Russell Brand, it'd be wise to prepare for anything - including hip thrusts. "I just do that every so often," he explained as he gave a demonstration for CNN. "I’m obliged to - I’ve got a contract with Warner Bros. studios that every 30 seconds or so I have to ... like dogs do!" he exclaimed while laughing, and, um, thrusting. You'll also catch some of his hip action in the upcoming "Rock Of Ages," in which the 36-year-old stars alongside Alec Baldwin, whom he also got the chance to kiss. 'True Blood' couple ready for 'bundle of fun'Baby will soon make three for “True Blood” on-and-off-screen couple Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, and Paquin showed off her growing bump recently in Los Angeles. The pair attended the red carpet premiere for season 5 of HBO’s epic vampire saga, and though the 29-year-old Oscar winner stayed mum about the couple’s first child together, Moyer was a bit more vocal. It probably helps that the 42-year-old has been to this rodeo before, having already had two other children from a previous relationship. What's going on with 'Private Practice'?“Private Practice” fans might be breathing into a paper bag right about now, because they've been hit with a one-two punch. First, reports are flying that ABC's ordered only 13 episodes of the medical drama for the next season. And then to top it off, there are rumors that the show’s main star, Kate Walsh, could be on her way out. Deadline reported on Walsh’s rumored potential exit Thursday as well as the abbreviated season, hinting that things aren’t looking too rosy for Shonda Rhimes' "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off. Beyonce signs on for 'Epic' roleNow that she's made her big stage comeback over Memorial Day weekend, Beyonce is ready to do the same on the big screen. The 30-year-old singer/actress has signed on to star as “Queen Tara” in a new animated film called "Epic," produced by 20th Century Fox Animation. She’ll be in excellent company, as the flick also features voice-overs by Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried, Johnny Knoxville, Aziz Ansari, Pitbull, Jason Sudeikis and Steven Tyler. |
