For Olivia Newton-John, home is where the heart is

Singer Olivia Newton-John has been around the world and back again several times over, but her favorite destination will always be her adoptive home country of Australia.

Newton-John recently sat down with CNN and fielded questions from our iReporters, one of whom asked about her favorite place to visit.

“I would choose Australia because that is my heart, home and where I love to spend time – it's my peaceful place,” she said, adding that her Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre, scheduled to open later this year in Melbourne, is especially important to her.

Newton-John also revealed one of her guilty pleasures, which is directly related to her busy schedule, and we'd bet it's not at all what you're thinking.

“I love to do laundry. When I get home from a trip, I really look forward to taking out my dirty clothes and my husband's clothes and doing the washing and getting everything organized,” she said. “I really enjoy the everyday things because it's a really homey experience for me. I'm always traveling, so when I get home I really like to be grounded and do all those ‘housewife-y’ things.”

Who knew that laundry could ever be considered an enjoyable task? Thanks to Olivia for chatting with us, and to all of our iReporters for submitting your questions!
