'Will & Grace' star: 'Three cheers' for Biden

Of all the shows currently on TV highlighting the gay experience in America, Vice President Joe Biden took it back - all the way back - with his shout-out to the '90s NBC sitcom “Will & Grace” on Sunday.

During an appearance on NBC's “Meet the Press," Biden said he's “absolutely comfortable” with same-sex marriage, and gave props to "W&G," which debuted in 1998, for changing the public’s perception on the topic.

"I think 'Will & Grace' did more to educate the American public than almost anything anybody has ever done," said Biden in a nod to the beloved series about a gay man living with a straight woman in New York City.

When the VP was asked if his own personal position on same-sex marriage was at the point where he would openly advocate for it, he responded, "I just think that the good news is that ... more and more Americans [have] come to understand [that] what this is all about is a simple proposition: Who do you love? Who do you love and will you be loyal to the person you love? And that's what people are finding out what all marriages, at their root, are about."

The stars of the NBC hit, Debra Messing and Eric McCormack, tweeted that they're flattered by Biden's name-dropping of their former gig.

"I'm thrilled Biden has come out in support of gay marriage and am beyond proud of what he said @ W&G #PROUD," Messing, who currently stars on "Smash," posted Sunday. "I could not be more proud. Thank you Mr. Vice President for yer support and yer words about 'W&G.'"

McCormack added, "Three cheers for VP Joe Biden! Fantastic interview. Now who ELSE is gonna step up?"

A lot of people care that are denied equal protection of the laws in this secular nation, which allows others to have whatever religious beliefs they want as long as the government doesn't endorse them.

He's actually worth millions and knows more about business and creating jobs than the Chicago Socialist. As for destroying the country, nothing could be worse than a 2nd term for the closet Muslim with the fake birth certificate. When he loses this November, America will start working again. Creating government jobs while the private sector stagnates is not helping us.

For all of you people commenting on this topic, let's get one thing clear.

Whether you believe in God, believe in science, or believe in absolutely nothing... let's be real. If a man loves another man, what does that mean?

Sure you can argue he may go to he11 or that he's a sinner. But c'mon all that aside... here's the FACTS. If a man loves another man, THAT MEANS MORE WOMEN FOR THE REST OF YOU GUYS OUT THERE. Plain and simple. So as much as you may judge or dislike a man who loves another man, think of the positive... more women for you.

YBP – I would GLADLY go head to head with you any day. 3 Masters degrees in Theology here. Let's do it.

First, please explain where life came from if there is no divine creator.
Secondly, please explain (theologically) the allowance for gay "marriage".
Thirdly, according to Thomas Aquinas (if you REALLY think you know theology), explain the consequences of sin.
Finally, explain how sodomizers will escape the consequences of their sin.

If you can do all four of these things, I will myself become atheist.

      1) why do you have 3 masters in the same thing.... At least waste the time on a PhD

      2) Explain the ridiculousness of your question "explain theologically the allowance for gay marriage". If you constrain the argument inside of your own personal world view, of course the answer will fit your paradigm.

      3) all of your questions you ask simply fit your paradigm.

It's like asking a frog the meaning of life and he says jumping.

I believe God created all of us to love Him and love one another. I have faith in God, which allows me to admit I can't even begin to know it all. You, on the other hand, seem to have a lot of faith in yourself - so much faith that you want everyone to be like you. Thankfully, God created a diverse world; I think He likes variation because look at all the different kinds of people, flowers, animals, geology... My faith allows me to be happy for others and to recognize that God loves them as much as He loves me. Will you be disappointed and angry to see your gay brothers and sisters in heaven? Will it tick you off to learn that you wasted a lot of your life oppressing them for no reason?

      1. We are made out of the same atoms as the rest of the universe. There is no special god atom that resides in us. So, there is nothing to stop life from being on our planet or other planets.

      2. This is not a theological question. People are not asking the government to force churches to marry gays. This is a legal issue and having certain rights under the law. Remember separation of church and state. The state can marry somebody without the approval of a religious organization.

      3. Jesus died for our sins. All sins, not just the ones you feel are appropriate to be forgiven.

      4. Same as answer 3.

If you don't believe Jesus died for our sins and that 3 "theological" degrees gives you the right to not notice the log sticking out of your own eye, you are not a Christian, and might as well be an atheist.

As a catholic, who has an MBA, I can prove to you why jebus and god are fake. One if the Bible was accurate, then Jebus would have been around 10 when he performed his miracles. Secondly, there was no printing available of any kind, and the spoken word cannot be translated accurately into several languages, and the spoken word cannot be accurately passed down verbatim for over 1450 years. In case you werent aware, Guttenburg printed the first bible in the mid 1400's. Finally, if you are a fundamentalist than you believe its ok to rape women, stone people, and marry underage, women and force them into domestic slavery. The worlds most popular fiction novel is full of contradictions, and you cannot only quote the passages you like, and forget about the ones you dont.

As for your argument about how life began, its called The BIg Bang Theory, and evolution. Both of these have been accepted by the scientific community.

Basically, Im saying you paid a good amount of money toi get degrees that specialized in the greatest fiction story ever told.

Unfortunately, the other commenters had nothing better to say than to hurl insults.

"Well, son, your friend has 2 dads because they love each other. Some day you'll find someone who you cannot bear to be without, and that person will become like the other half of you. For your friend's dads, their someone happened to be another man. Families are about love, son. That's all you need to think about."

It's easy. Kids get the idea of love. Do you freeze up when you have to explain why some kids in his class live with their grandparents because their parents don't feel like raising them anymore?

"When I inquired, he simply said "why does colin have two fathers and no mother?" Explain that one."

      Because his parents are gay.

Are you too stupid too figure that out?

Diamond Dave: the fact that you took the time to write that shows how very insecure you are about yourself.

It's an election year. If Biden thought he could get more votes with, "If you elect O and me, I'll gas every gay between New Jersey and California.", then he would've said that.

Any politician worth his salt knows that you must say what the public wants to hear in order to get their vote. After you are elected, you can back paddle and deny it all.
