While you were working...

Today's news you might've missed:

  • Lena Dunham explains why "Girls" suffers a severe lack of diversity: "Something I wanted to avoid was tokenism in casting. If I had one of the four girls, if, for example, she was African-American... Not that the experience of an African-American girl and a white girl are drastically different, but there has to be specificity to that experience [that] I wasn't able to speak to. [NPR]
  • James Cameron, when not being in the "Titanic," deep sea exploration, and/or asteroid mining business, is in the "Avatar" business. "Period. That's it," he said recently. "I'm  not interested in developing anything... I'm making 'Avatar 2,' 'Avatar 3,' maybe 'Avatar 4,' and I'm not going to produce other people's movies for them." [NYT]
  • "Cougar Town" fans may make a shift from ABC to TBS if the show gets canceled on its current network, and picked up by the Turner Broadcasting-owned brand, which is owned by the same parent company as CNN. [Deadline]
  • Justin Bieber is no longer just another teen pop star - he's now a teen pop star with his high school diploma, as the 18-year-old revealed in an interview. [U.K. Telegraph]
  • Jennifer Love Hewitt playing a single mom who doubles as a call girl is going over well with viewers. Her Lifetime show "The Client List" has been picked up for a second season. [TVBytheNumbers]
  • Jack Osbourne isn't your standard B-list celebrity, no, but the proud papa is nonetheless showing off his newborn baby girl, Pearl, along with his fiancee in Hello! magazine. [Hello!]
