Report: 'Una Noche' actors to seek political asylumRemember those two Cuban actors who mysteriously disappeared after arriving in the U.S. to debut their film at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York? Well, they’ve now reportedly come out of hiding, and are said to be seeking political asylum here in the States. According to the BBC, Javier Nunez Florian and Anailin de la Rua, stars of the Tribeca prize winner “Una Noche” - about three young Cubans who try to flee to Miami to start a new life - popped up Friday after a week of hiding. Trailer Park: Peter Jackson defends 'Hobbit' footageTrailers for three anticipated movies are creating quite a bit of buzz in Tinseltown - and one for not-the-most-flattering reasons. According the Hollywood Reporter, “The Hobbit” director Peter Jackson is defending ten minutes of unfinished footage he showed at Cinemacon in Las Vegas last week, saying the audience’s less-than-enthusiastic response “wasn’t particularly surprising because it is something new.” Instead of shooting the 3-D "Lord of the Rings" prequel at the more standard rate of 24-frames-per-second, the filmmaker has gone with the faster rate of 48-frames-per-second, which yields a very different look. Whitney Cummings lands E! talk showMake room on the couch for another new talk show host! E! has announced plans to roll out a weekly gab-fest entitled “Love You, Mean It with Whitney Cummings.” The comedian’s latest vehicle, on the heels of her tepidly-received NBC sitcom, “Whitney," will be “a weekly medley of witty commentary featuring Whitney’s take on everything from the biggest pop culture and celebrity happenings, to life, relationships, sex, and more," the network says in a statement. 'Mad Men' gets down and dirty[The following post contains spoilers for the April 29 episode of AMC’s "Mad Men."] Good news everyone! Those “adult content” advisories that ran throughout Sunday night’s episode? Completely justified! But before we get to what scarred Sally for life, let’s talk about what else happened last night. Glen returned – all grown up and 50 percent less creepy – and it was sort of sweet to see that he and Sally had maintained their friendship over the years. Mel Gibson: I've got a bit of a temperMel Gibson has admitted to a trait some probably presumed quite a while ago, thanks to the headlines: The actor has said he's got a bit of a temper. Gibson made the admission Friday on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” after screenwriter Joe Eszterhas' release of what he says is a tape of Gibson ranting. Eszterhas, who wrote a script for a film Gibson is working on about Jewish hero Judah Maccabee, also accused the actor of anti-Semitism in a nine-page letter. |
