Demi Lovato fans rush stage, pause concertDemi Lovato fans in Paraguay weren't going to stand for a stage being in between them and their favorite star. As Celebuzz reports, the 19-year-old singer was in the country Thursday for a show, and was talking to the crowd when her fans anticipated that she was going to let some of the audience up on stage. But before she could clarify her instructions, one fan hopped on stage and rushed over to Lovato, throwing her arms around her in a hug. [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeHZ-7TxS0M] As security tried to remove that fan, others began to pour onto the stage as Lovato swiftly removed herself from the disruption. 'Avengers' opens strong at global box office"The Avengers" doesn't open for another week in the States (so close, fans - so close!) but it's already doing gangbusters overseas. According to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel's superhero ensemble film brought in $17.1 million from 10 countries on opening day Wednesday, including $6.2 million from "Thor" actor Chris Hemsworth's native Australia. Italy's box office saw $3.7 million in receipts for "The Avengers"; France, $2.9 million; Taiwan, $1.3 million; and just under a million in New Zealand. Who's your favorite superhero? Send in an iReport! Unsurprisingly, studio Disney tells EW it's "extremely encouraged" by how well "Avengers" is playing in overseas markets, and the early tracking for the movie can only be strengthening that sentiment. Aretha Franklin talks new album and biopicPowerhouse Aretha Franklin is set to receive the Music Icon award this Sunday during the TV Land Awards, and the singer's planning to keep her legacy alive with new music. She recently told Billboard she’s reunited with industry vet Clive Davis to record an upcoming album, and she wants Ne-Yo and other popular R&B voices to participate. “I'd love to get some Ne-Yo songs on there,” the 70-year-old told the publication of her upcoming RCA project while backstage at the TV Land taping. “Kenny ['Babyface'] Edmonds I've been talking to, and he has some songs that might be a good fit.” Selena Gomez 'duets' with Selena on tribute albumBeloved deceased singer Selena isn't being resurrected as a hologram, as we'd hoped, but fans can hear her sing again - and she's doing it with another popular Selena: the teen star Selena Gomez. The chart-topping Latin songstress died tragically in 1995 when Gomez was a mere toddler. Now 19, Gomez has recorded a "duet" with the late Selena on the tribute album "Enamorada De Ti," and Selena's brother A.B. is singing Gomez's praises. "She did an amazing job," he told E! of Gomez's work on the record, adding that Gomez "was named after my sister. That's pretty awesome." One wild stag party (and Wheaton) on 'The Big Bang Theory'As promised, Howard's stag party was one to remember on Thursday night's "Big Bang Theory." Wil Wheaton showed up, and despite burying the hatchet, still annoyed Sheldon. Kripke was mad there weren't any strippers, and comic book store owner Stuart was just depressed. Sheldon told some wildly inappropriate jokes - though Raj outdid him. Unfortunately, Wil's presence once again spelled trouble: he posted one of Raj's drunken rants about Howard having been with a prostitute on the Internet.... and Bernadette saw it. |
