Lindsay Lohan on Rosie's remarks: 'So intrusive'After Rosie O'Donnell remarked that Lindsay Lohan is neither right nor ready to play a young Liz Taylor in a Lifetime film, Lohan herself is questioning where O'Donnell's getting her info from. "It's funny that someone you don't know at all can say something so intrusive and so knowing," the 25-year-old actress told "Access Hollywood" Tuesday evening. O'Donnell told Matt Lauer on the "Today" show earlier that day that she feels "sorry" for Lohan, who's been cast as the late legend in Lifetime's "Liz & Dick."
"She's not in a place to work," O'Donnell said. "I don't think she's right for the role, and I don't think she's capable at this point of doing what's needed." Lohan's rep fired back that O'Donnell should "focus on her own career right now and not worry about everyone else's," and even Lohan's dad has joined the response train. "Is Rosie in ANY position to judge anyone?" Michael Lohan inquired in a statement to the Huffington Post. "I will fight tooth and nail for what's right! In this case, Rosie, you are wrong." Lifetime execs seem to agree. When the network announced that Lohan, who has been trying to resurrect her career after personal troubles began to eclipse it, was officially their Dame Taylor, the executive VP of programming for Lifetime called her "one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon." And then there's the fact, to hear producer Larry Thompson tell it, that Lohan "may be the most insured actress that ever walked on a soundstage," as he said to E!. |

I was so pleased to hear the Rosie O'Donnell converted to atheism. Ms. O'Donnell is one of those rare, intelligent, well educated celebrities who tells it like it is and isn't afraid to do so! As the US continues to become a more progressive nation, I'm hopeful that we will have finally discarded the antiquated beliefs that has kept the US on the back burner. It's time to move on; modernism, realism and rational thought will bring this country out of the hideous doldrums that our misguided forefathers infused in the beginning. I praise Barack Obama for his leadership, integrity, intelligence, poise and dignity. President Obama has done more to forge us ahead and not look back. the only reason Lohan took offence is because, for once, O'Donnell has struck a nerve & is absolutely correct in her judgement. People who point out that Elizabeth herself suffered drug addiction & went through rehab, forget that Ms Taylor became addicted to pills due to chronic pain suffered from a back injury. Lohan was heavily in to drug & alcohol because she was hanging out with the rest of Hollywoods drunken "Celebutantes." Major difference. I think the real reason Lifetime got Lohan is because she comes cheap (pun intended) and they couldn't afford anyone better.

Rosie was responding to a question and gave her opinion. I personally don't like Lohan for the role because she in no way resembles Liz Taylor but Lifetime can cast whoever they want. It was only about 6 months ago she got dumped as porn star Linda Lovelace. She has some serious issues and I hoe she overcomes them. Robert Downey is on o my favorite actors and he came back from a similar crash and burn. For me, Hugh, I don't think LL is a very good actress or beautiful – which makes me disappointed in te casting, i hope I am wrong. Maybe it willbe a turning point for LL in ER career and personal life . My advice for her is to get as far away from her mom and dad as possible. They are disgusting leeches and not parents.

Lohan was a decent actress, not sure about now? Liz Taylor wasn't perfect, she was married a lot and had some drug issues, but she also did a lot of charity work and had a lot of heartbreak in her life too. Hollywood was a different place, plus I think she was just more private in general. I don't like Lindsay for the role either, but it sounds like the movie is a done deal, let's see who watches!

I completely agree that Lohan is all wrong to have been cast as Elizabeth Taylor. And, I wonder if Lohan owns a dictionary, since her vocabularly is obviously lacking. Someone should explain to her what the word "intrusive" really means, before she misuses it again. Also, someone should force Lohan to look at the picture I just saw posted of her online, wearing what looks like a white peasant blouse sans skirt. When you're her age and unfit, your thighs get fat and saggy and wearing anything that short in public is disgraceful (and offensive to anyone who has to see it.) One would think with all her free time she would've done a few exercises, if she really is motivated to attempt a relaunch of her career. Personally, I'd rather not see Lohan on my TV screen ever again.
