Jack White to score 'Lone Ranger'

On the heels of his latest album release, former White Stripes frontman Jack White is picking up some movie business.

According to E!, the musician is set to write, produce and perform the score for Disney's "The Lone Ranger." Producer Jerry Bruckheimer told the audience at CinemaCon Tuesday that having White on board means we can expect "to have a little rock 'n' roll score."

Personally, Bruckheimer can't wait to hear White's version of the "William Tell Overture."

Although this is the first feature film he's scored, White's no stranger to the soundtrack, as he's contributed music to movies like "Cold Mountain" and the Bond film "Quantum of Solace."

Starring Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer as the titular Western hero, "The Lone Ranger" is scheduled to be released on May 31, 2013.

This movie will be horrible, but at least the music should rock.

Jack White was great in "Cold Mountain". Musically and as an actor in the film.
