Brian McKnight on racy song: I was bored

We know R&B can have a sexy side, but the X-rated lyrics on a preview from a new Brian McKnight song have given some fans pause.

As MTV notes, the response to McKnight's preview video of a song called "If You're Ready to Learn" has shown that not many are prepared for the singer's new direction.

The "Back at One" crooner posted a YouTube video previewing the track on Monday, and since then has set off a hailstorm of reactions, particularly on Twitter.

Obama wasn't worried about hitting Al Green high notes

While the rest of us would only attempt to sing Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" in the comfort of our own showers, it seems President Barack Obama didn't think twice about taking his vocals on the road.

The POTUS has told Rolling Stone that when the thought struck to sing a bit of Green's tune at a January campaign appearance in Harlem, New York, he knew he could do it.

As he tells the magazine, that stop was his fifth of the day, and by the time they arrived at the Apollo Theater, it was around 10:30 at night. Obama had been hoping to hear some Al Green at the time, but he missed out on the show.

While you were working...

[By the by, we noticed some of you like to have a little fun in this post. And that's fine by us! We're more than happy to offer you a spot to catch up with other readers. In fact, from here on out, this'll be the "free" post - come here and chat (responsibly) about topics unrelated to what's been up that day. This way, you guys can meet and greet here, leaving the comments on other posts to focus solely on the topic at hand. Have at it!]

Today's news you might've missed:

  • "Gossip Girl" EP Joshua Safran is trading in the (over-extended, and need to end soon) travails of know-it-all GG's Upper East Side/sometimes Brooklyn for the just-as-soapy behind-the-scenes drama of Broadway: He's the pick to executive produce the second season of "Smash." [NYT]
  • We could never afford anything Carrie & Co. set their eyes on in HBO's "Sex and the City," and that apparently applies to real life as well. The Manhattan townhome that Sarah Jessica Parker's character lived in has sold for $9.85 million. [People]
  • Drew Barrymore has said nothing about any of this, mind you, but the actress/producer is rumored to be planning a June wedding, on top of supposedly expecting a baby. [Us Weekly]
  • Don't eff with Lionel Richie, music industry. The singer's still holding on to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 with "Tuskegee." [Billboard]
  • It looks like "Toy Story 3" director Lee Unkrich's next Pixar project will have a fear factor: The movie, tentatively titled "Dia de los Muertos," will have something to do with the Mexican holiday. [EW]
  • And now, for some new "Beach Boys" music:

Tyra Banks, former 'ANTM' co-stars speak on shuffle

Nigel Barker, (Miss) J. Alexander and Jay Manuel are off "America's Next Top Model," but it sounds like everyone's ready to move forward.

Barker has already said that he's looking forward to the other ventures he can dabble in post-"ANTM," and J. Alexander told "Showbiz Tonight's" A.J. Hammer that he thought the time had come to part ways.

"I think it’s time that we actually just kind of go on," he said. And while he might've been "a bit annoyed" had he not discussed it with "ANTM" host/judge/exec producer Tyra Banks, but they "spoke on the phone so I’m good," he said. "I’m so, so good."

E! renews 'Kardashians' for three more seasons

Since you clearly don't hear enough about the Kardashian family - certainly not from us, we know - E! has lined up another three seasons of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," CNN's confirmed with the network.

A spokesperson for E! declined to offer more details, including specifics on how much the deal's worth. TMZ cites anonymous sources who say that the renewal brought "$40-plus million" to the ever-expanding family, with Kris, Bruce, Kim, Khloe and Kourtney getting the top-tier pay.

We frankly wouldn't be surprised if the Kardashians were making gobs of money filming their everyday lives for TV, as "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" is the most-watched and highest-rated program on E!. It's also the mothership that has spawned spin-off after spin-off, including "Khloe & Lamar," "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" and "Khloe and Kourtney take Miami."

The seventh season of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" launches May 20 at 9 p.m., kicking off 18 hour-long episodes in which Kourtney preps for the arrival of her second child, Khloe tries to spend time with loved ones, and Kim enjoys the closeness she has with her family, a statement from E! tells us.

Tamera Mowry-Housley expecting first child

Actress Tia Mowry's son Cree will soon have a cousin!

A rep for "The Game" star's twin, Tamera, tells CNN that the actress and reality star is expecting her first child with husband Adam Housley. The couple expect to welcome their little one in November.

Being an aunt to baby Cree has given Tamera, 33, plenty of practice for motherhood, as she told us last year that she was full of "love for my nephew like I've never had before, and I can only imagine what it'll be like when I have my own child. Because Tia and I are twins, sometimes I feel like her child is my own son."
