While you were working...Today's news you might've missed:
Alfonso Ribeiro leads 'Carlton dance' flash mobAlfonso Ribeiro's still got it. Sixteen years after the conclusion of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," and the 40-year-old actor can do the "Carlton" dance, named after his Carlton Banks character on the show, like it's still 1992. In Los Angeles over the weekend, Ribeiro led what he called on Twitter "the world's largest simultaneous flash mob" as a promotion for fitness company ViSalus' Body by Vi program. He kicked off the dance routine with a little Carlton arm-swinging, to Tom Jones' "It's Not Unusual," of course. Rosie O'Donnell: Lohan's not right for Liz Taylor roleLifetime execs may be among those who think that Lindsay Lohan is one of the "rare actresses" with the talent to play the late Elizabeth Taylor, but Rosie O'Donnell decidedly is not. To be fair, O'Donnell wasn't speaking on the topic of Lohan's casting randomly - Matt Lauer asked if she thought it was a "good idea" for Lohan to play a young Taylor on Tuesday's edition of the "Today" show. "I feel very sorry for her," O'Donnell said. "I think she needs a lot of help, she needs a lot of time away." Katharine McPhee: From 'Idol' runner-up to a 'Smash' hitSinger and now actress Katharine McPhee is enjoying life as an "American Idol" alum. Since finishing season 5 as the runner-up, McPhee has sold more than 400,000 albums, and she's launched an acting career. On NBC's freshman series "Smash," she plays wannabe Broadway star Karen Cartwright, who has the technical training to make it on stage but learns that the off-stage drama might stand in her way. She recently sat down with "Showbiz Tonight's" Kareen Wynter to talk about life on set, her work with the non-profit group Malaria No More, and if she'd be good at judging an "Idol"-esque competition. ![]() ![]() Katharine McPhee: I'd be too meanKatharine McPhee talks to Showbiz Tonight's Kareen Wynter about watching the new singing competitions. ![]() ![]() McPhee: You can make a differenceSinger and actress Katharine McPhee talks about the importance of being involved in helping others. ![]() ![]() 'Smash' made me a morning personSinger and actress Katharine McPhee tells CNN why working on the NBC show "Smash" makes it easy to get up in the morning. Chelsea Handler: Still not a big fan of Angelina JolieChelsea Handler has never held back when it comes to the topic of Angelina Jolie, so don't expect her to start now. In the May issue of More magazine, the media personality - who’s tight with Brad Pitt’s ex-wife Jennifer Aniston - views the future Mrs. Pitt as the opposite of a girl’s girl. “You just know as a woman when you see another woman if that’s a woman you can trust,” Handler told the magazine of the recently-engaged actress. "[Jolie] doesn’t strike me as someone I would have a close friendship with.” |
