While you were working...

Today's news you might've missed:

  • Mel Gibson, for all his PR troubles, isn't hurting for work. The actor is in talks for a part in Robert Rodriguez's new film, "Machete Kills." [THR]
  • We're a little concerned for Scarlett Johansson. We can enjoy a good chicken wing (Korean fried, please) with the best of them, but the actress seems to have formed a dependency. "Buffalo chicken wings, I am addicted to them," she admitted on the red carpet. "I can't stop eating them. I just can't get enough." Honey, we're sure there's help if you need it. [Fox411]
  • Quote of the day:  "Lindsay Lohan may be the most insured actress that ever walked on a sound stage," says the producer of her Lifetime movie, "Liz & Dick." He's not just relying on a "Plan B," that one. [E!]
  • Jennifer Lawrence, it seems, has become the definition of striking while the iron is hot. The Oscar nominee/"Hunger Games" trilogy heroine is said to be in talks for yet another movie, this time the adaptation of Jeannette Walls' "The Glass Castle" memoir. [Deadline]
  • Excellent news "True Blood" fans: Charlaine Harris' Harper Connelly mystery books could wind up on Syfy as a series called "Grave Sight." [EW]
  • It seems the voice in Nicki Minaj's head has now told her to reinstate her Twitter account after previously instructing her to delete it. (Roman? Was that you?) [MTV]
  • We're just waiting for the day when Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are "caught" holding hands on these little secluded trips of theirs. [People]

Alfonso Ribeiro leads 'Carlton dance' flash mob

Alfonso Ribeiro's still got it.

Sixteen years after the conclusion of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," and the 40-year-old actor can do the "Carlton" dance, named after his Carlton Banks character on the show, like it's still 1992.

In Los Angeles over the weekend, Ribeiro led what he called on Twitter "the world's largest simultaneous flash mob" as a promotion for fitness company ViSalus' Body by Vi program. He kicked off the dance routine with a little Carlton arm-swinging, to Tom Jones' "It's Not Unusual," of course.

Rosie O'Donnell: Lohan's not right for Liz Taylor role

Lifetime execs may be among those who think that Lindsay Lohan is one of the "rare actresses" with the talent to play the late Elizabeth Taylor, but Rosie O'Donnell decidedly is not.

To be fair, O'Donnell wasn't speaking on the topic of Lohan's casting randomly - Matt Lauer asked if she thought it was a "good idea" for Lohan to play a young Taylor on Tuesday's edition of the "Today" show.

"I feel very sorry for her," O'Donnell said. "I think she needs a lot of help, she needs a lot of time away."

Katharine McPhee: From 'Idol' runner-up to a 'Smash' hit

Singer and now actress Katharine McPhee is enjoying life as an "American Idol" alum. Since finishing season 5 as the runner-up, McPhee has sold more than 400,000 albums, and she's launched an acting career.

On NBC's freshman series "Smash," she plays wannabe Broadway star Karen Cartwright, who has the technical training to make it on stage but learns that the off-stage drama might stand in her way.

She recently sat down with "Showbiz Tonight's" Kareen Wynter to talk about life on set, her work with the non-profit group Malaria No More, and if she'd be good at judging an "Idol"-esque competition.

Chelsea Handler: Still not a big fan of Angelina Jolie

Chelsea Handler has never held back when it comes to the topic of Angelina Jolie, so don't expect her to start now.

In the May issue of More magazine, the media personality - who’s tight with Brad Pitt’s ex-wife Jennifer Aniston - views the future Mrs. Pitt as the opposite of a girl’s girl.

“You just know as a woman when you see another woman if that’s a woman you can trust,” Handler told the magazine of the recently-engaged actress. "[Jolie] doesn’t strike me as someone I would have a close friendship with.”
