'Black Swan' director takes on George Washington biopicPerhaps that myth about George Washington cutting down a cherry tree will be put to bed once and for all. Darren Aronofsky is reportedly entering into negotiations with Paramount Pictures to direct as well as produce “The General,” a biopic on the first U.S. president’s life. According to Variety, the script was written by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage.
Though not many details about the plot have been released, Variety indicates it will probably be less of a straightforward look at the early leader's life and more of a winding road, like in Clint Eastwood’s “Unforgiven.” But in the meantime look for more details on Aronofsky's next film, “Noah," about, yes, the Biblical figure. Russell Crowe will reportedly star in the flick, and the names of Saoirse Ronan and Jennifer Connelly have also reportedly been tossed around. “Noah” is expected to be released in 2014. |
