Michelle Obama racked up major cool points with contestants for “The Biggest Loser” when she hung out with them at the White House.
According to TheGrio.com, the First Lady invited participants of NBC's weight loss show to break a sweat with her courtesy of her national Let’s Move! initiative, promoting healthy eating and exercise habits.
Part one of the pre-Obama special edition of the show - which included a head-to-toe makeover for six contestants - aired last week, and this week the emphasis was back on the body makeover.
The First Lady was not hands-off with her advice on how to get in shape: she put her money where her mouth was, participating in an intense physical workout with the show's trainers, Bob and Dolvette.
Adding her own personal touch, Mrs. Obama made it clear that she follows the show and knows each contestant, commenting on how “blown away” she was by their physical transformations.
"I am a big fan of 'The Biggest Loser,' because the contestants inspire so many of us,” she said. “They look phenomenal, but more importantly, they have confidence in their step."
The love was clearly mutual. Said "Biggest Loser" host Alison Sweeney in her recap on People magazine's site, "As I watched, I was touched by how Mrs. Obama knew the journeys of the contestants and how she could continue to inspire them in their final weeks on campus."
