Cee Lo's cat Purrfect racks up Twitter followersShe showed up seemingly out of nowhere at the start of this season of "The Voice." There she was, perched in judge Cee Lo Green's arms whenever he spoke to the camera about the auditions for his team: a cat named Purrfect. Soon, Cee Lo's Twitter stream kept referring to Purrfect, who, it turns out, also tweeted. Now, @PurrfectTheCat is approaching 50,000 Twitter followers.
The clever missives from this feline companion have now spun off a website on NBC.com, where Purrfect fans are encouraged to print out a photo of the cat and tweet their photos with her. So what's the real story behind Cee Lo's new furry friend? "Purrfect is a rented cat that happens to be a rescue," according to a source who spoke to E! Online. "It was Cee Lo's idea to have a cat this season; however, due to his travel schedule, he is not able to care for an animal full-time. Cee Lo liked the idea of working with a rescue as he loves animals." Purrfect hasn't shown up just yet since the live shows have begun, but we have a feeling we'll see her again on Monday night's show. I love this cat and love CeeLo for using a rescue cat. Too bad he can't have it all the time, it fits him purrfectly. I love animals too, especially cats. I have 5 of my own inside and two that just happened to come to me to feed and give love everyday.
I like Cee-lo. He always thinks outside of the box. Plus, anyone who loves and respects animals, esp. cats, wins a lot of cool points by me. Cats rule.
Oh! Look...a hipster Ernst Blowfeld. Another cultural dead-ender that hasn't got the memo that "rap" is officially passe. The cat seems heavily medicated, or maybe that's just a contact high. Gangsta Man gets points for using a rescue, but loses them x2 for Chairman Meow simply being nothing more than a fashion accessory to pump up his wafer-thin TV Q.

Forgive my ignorance. Who is this small guy with the two foot arms? And not that I watch ANY of those waste of valuable network time "talent" or "reality" shows, but why is this person a judge of anything? The cat? Give it a contract and all the tuna it wants. The other? Give him a 7up and send him back wherever he came from.

Pretty sure that cat isn't a rental anymore as Cee-Lo told Jay Leno last week she was at home in LA while his two dogs lived at home in Atlanta... Who knows, I may be wrong.

As gorgeous as this cat is, I highly doubt he/she is homeless. The term 'rented' probably just means the cat belongs to an animal trainer. I knew Cee Lo was too busy to have a cat. If the cat needs a home, I would take Purrfect in a minute.

I own a white persian cat also; her name is Diva. I can't imagine renting a cat to use as a prop! I think that is cruel as once the show is over, he will get rid of the cat! Purrfect should be placed in a good home where she will stay and be loved. How could he have her for awhile and not get attached!

A good start to becoming a sadistic killer of people. If this is a true story, I think you should be put in jail before you live up to these horrific expectations.
Purrfect is a beautiful cat, sort of James Bond-villainish. I hope that less photogenic cats are used for similar reasons in the future because long-haired and white cats are more desirable for their looks than 'plain cats'. Black cats, tuxies and tabbies are all capable of being trained and will sit on someone's lap for filming too. A cat does not need to look glamourous to have a big, pleasing personality – like Cee Lo himself.
I'm surprised he isn't torturing it like he did other animals when he was growing up. I hope Cee Los dies a violent death.

I don't think you can fault him for not adopting a cat. I'm sure he travels a lot, and he wouldn't be able to provide the attention a cat needs. Unless he is going to hire a maid to take care of his cat when he's away 80% of the time, I don't think it's practical for him to have one.
This reminds me of the book "Koko's Kitten".
All laughs and yucks aside.....I read a couple different bios that where CeeLo confessed to being an animal abuser in his early teens. Not sure how to read this stunt.
Does he ever think how the rented cat feels when he or she is returned at the end of the sessions? Animals need stability too, and a rescue cat needs a loving and permanent home. The cat is not a rental tuxedo to be worn for special occasions and then returned for storage. Can't afford a cat because of your schedule, don't have one until you are settled. Or have someone at home to take care of it – I am sure he can afford a cat-keeper. He should read the book by Eva Ibbotson: One Dog and his Boy.

I suspect since they talk about how she's a rescue, she probably has a regular home, and then is "borrowed" to appear in the show, sort of like how other rescues were adopted and then "rented out" to star in movies or commercials, like Morris the cat (in all his many incarnations) who lives with his handler.
