While you were working...Today's news you might've missed:
Watch: 'Prometheus,' 'Lincoln,' 'Snow White and the Huntsman' trailersFans frolicked to this past weekend's Wondercon (sort of a little sister to San Diego Comic-Con), which had moved for the first time to Anaheim, California. And along with the proximity to Hollywood, came more stars. Aside from panels for movies like "The Amazing Spider-Man," "Resident Evil: Retribution" and even "21 Jump Street" (which was already in theaters), new trailers arrived for two hotly anticipated summer movies. We still know next-to-nothing about Ridley Scott's science fiction epic, "Prometheus," and the new trailer filled in a little more backstory about the movie, written by "Lost" co-creator Damon Lindelof. 'Eastbound & Down': KP vs. DJ Blu RayThe intro to Sunday's "Eastbound & Down" took me back to my junior high school heyday. You know, when you and a friend would go into a local gift shop and steal everything in sight for the mere rush of saying you did. OK, so maybe that’s just me - and apparently KP’s dad. He and KP’s mentally challenged brother, Casper, open our show with a heist to remember. Over in Myrtle Beach, KP drops in on his girlfriend Andrea and her friends having a dorm room get together. “We’re not kids anymore, we’re in college!” she proclaims as he apologizes for the whole "Shane back from the dead" joke that didn’t go over so well. It’s time to grow up, and you wonder if KP ever will. 'Styled by June's' Ambrose ready to reinvent celebsThe entertainment industry can turn quickly on a star, unabashedly taking down a celeb for even a tepid style transgression. But image is tantamount in this business, and no one knows the necessity of having a look speak for you like veteran celebrity stylist and author June Ambrose. The style guru is pulling back the curtain on her process with VH1's new reality show, "Styled By June," and she explains that her job isn't just to help someone sharpen their sartorial sense - it's to help them rediscover who they are. Jessica Simpson celebrates with L.A. baby showerJessica Simpson celebrated the impending arrival of her baby girl with a soiree on Sunday. According to Us Weekly, the “Fashion Star” mentor and mom-to-be was joined by little sis Ashlee, actresses Jessica Alba and Ellen Pompeo as well as other friends and family members at her Los Angeles baby shower. Event-planner-to-the-stars Mindy Weiss is said to have organized the pink-and-yellow-themed affair. OWN cancels Rosie O'Donnell's showOprah Winfrey has pulled the plug on Rosie O’Donnell’s primetime OWN show. Fans of the long-struggling “The Rosie Show” have just one more opportunity on Tuesday, March 20 to attend a live taping. The final episode is expected to air on March 30. |
