Adam Sandler could clean up at the Razzie AwardsSunday night might have belonged to “The Artist,” but Saturday night was all about Adam Sandler. On the eve of the 84th Academy Awards, Sandler earned a total of 11 Razzie nominations, which honor the worst achievements in film. The funnyman received Razzie Award nominations for his work on three 2011 flicks, according to the Los Angeles Times: “Just Go With It,” “Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star” and “Jack and Jill.”
Sandler earned a nod in the worst actor category for “Jack and Jill” and “Just Go With It” - films whose leading ladies, Jennifer Aniston and Brooklyn Decker, received nominations along with Sandler for worst on-screen couple. Meanwhile, “Jack and Jill’s” Katie Holmes landed a nod for worst supporting actress. “Bucky Larson” and “Jack and Jill” are each nominated for worst picture, along with “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Pt. 1,” “Transformers: Dark Of The Moon” and “New Year’s Eve.” Which film do you think will take the award when the Razzie Awards are presented on April Fool’s Day?

I think it is clear that the Razzies were created many years ago in anticipation of "Jack and Jill'. Call it devine providence.
Adam Sandler is the worst actor on the planet and deserves many razzies! Ben Stiller is next! Every movie they make sucks.
Wow, my comment was going to be "ABOUT" the article. I don't understand why we have Positive awards honoring achievements for excellent actors and other things yet people still feel they have to have Negative awards to point out or tear down what people do. SAD!!! But as a footnote it still amazes me how there are people out there who manage to drag Obama into "ANY" conversation that has absolutely "NOTHING" to do with the articles. Beyond sad...OBSESSED!!!

Sandler has become a complete sell out and all his movies are the same formula. Have something awkward happen, have a family moment of "Oh how sweet" that causes a breakthrough in thinking, have a turning point where the main character learns a lesson and play a lot of 80's music in the middle. Adam! You sold out! Your movies all suck anymore.
I don't understand how Adam Sandler continues to make movies. They are consistently lousy relying on tired cliches and moronic stunts (another hit to the groin). Someone please explain!
Sandler, Affleck and Stiller should all be lifetime Razzie achievement award recipients and do us all a favor and leave the entertainment field.
Why Hollywood allows Sandler to make films is beyond belief. The guy sux, always has, and always will.

I am a HUGE Adam Sandler fan, and I'm not afraid to say that Jack and Jill was the worst movie I've seen since 'Copper Mountain' with Jim Carrey.

I have to admit I went into the Movie 'Just Go with it' thinking it would be dumb, but it was really funny. Much better Than I had anticipated... Twilight movies are the worst and should win every year!!!

Really – CNN calls the Razzies News? The judges can join via internet and a Mastercard plunking down 50$??? So judges that pay to be judges. Razzies sound like a lot of jealous want to be filmakers that can't. Transformers nominated for a Razzie? How does the Fourth highest grossing movie of all time – as listed on Boxofficemojo.com get a Razzie Nom? Over a 130 million people saw it to make that much at the boxoffice around the world 1.2 billion.
So really the judges feel that a 130 million people got it wrong?
This movie made a mountain of money, no doubt, but unless robots and explosions are your thing – as it apparently is for millions of movie goers – this movie is quite unwatchable. It is one thing to suspend your disbelief, but a swimsuit model quality woman madly in love with Shea LeBeouf? Really?? Add that to the forced "one liners" that completely fail to resonate, even to a guy who as a kid used to play with the original toys and imagined Optimus Prime saying things like, "We will kill them all!" Michael Bay needs to stop making his movies quirky and take a page or two from Jim Cameron ala "Aliens" or "Terminator 2" - make us CARE about these characters, then put them into chaotic, explosive situations! THAT makes for a quality sci-fi/action film!

To Mike Jones: As much as I dislike both Adam Sandler and Woody Allen, I was interested in your comment that Sandler is a low-brow Woody Allen. When we think that Allen's only pretense to movie value was his claim he was some sort of intellectual, well, a low-brow Woody Allen is like a coffee pot that can't hold coffee. Although, in all fairness to Mr. Sandler, at least he wasn't dorking his 14 year-old stepdaughter.

I lovr Adam. i loved Jack & Jill wonderful when you sit in a movie and the whole threate is laughing the whole time. made me forget any problems i have even for a little while. Best movie he ever did. He deserves the award for it. he is sweet and fully at the same time. a pleasure yes it was to watch

Sandler has been and always will be another unfunny Jew comedian from a long tradition of unfunny Jewish comedians.
I don't know if there is a connection between funny comedian and his/her religion, but I will say that Sandler actually does better in more serious roles. Spanglish was great, although a light drama, still not one of his typical comedies, which I can assume only appeal to those with 12 year old humor. Just Go With It, sucked. What happened to good writing, all we get these days is SouthPark humor. I am an adult and wish they would stop insulting my intelligence with garbage.

licksit: I agree that Adam Sandler is not funny, although, like Carob, I doubt that his ethnicity has anything to do with it. Rather, I think he's not funny simply because he has no talent. But unlike Carob who opined that Sandler does better in more serious roles, I think he's even WORSE in more serious roles. Mr. Sandler richly deserves whatever Razzies he gets. I will even go so far as to say he deserves a Razzie lifetime achievement award.
Sandler was pretty BAD in those films, I saw the one with Aniston and was sorry I rented it. Thank god, I never saw Jack and Jill, I knew that one was going to be a turkey ! And what idiot decided to make Bucky Larson ? That one looked even worse from the advertising....(never saw that one, I say proudly !).
As for Katie Holmes, she should have looked at the script more closely.....and more jeers to her for dropping out of The Dark Knight film and letting Maggie Gyllenhall get the primo high profile roles of one of the most successful movies that year. Talk about a dumb move !

Sure during Obama's tenure the deficit ballooned even further but you could hardly blame Obama for it. Unlike Bush who took office after Clinton's tenure.
Obama was dealing with an Bush's imploding economy and the ongoing wars. The deficit skyrocketed because millions of American's were losing their jobs and their homes and the banks were collapsing all at the moment that Obama was taking office. Let's see, the banks still aren't lending much to potential homeowners, new housing starts are non-existent.
The best way to describe the last 3 years of the Obama Presidency is that America has been going through the withdrawal of the Bush "Junkie" Presidency. America was on the crack of poor policies and now we were going to have to go through the "shakes" and recovery and it's not going to happen over night.
Really blaming Obama for the state of the economy would be like blaming the city of New York for not repairing all of the damage in lower Manhattan from 911 by the end of 2002! And if you've been to New York, it still hasn't fully recovered and most likely won't until about 2015!
