Sheldon runs wild on 'The Big Bang Theory'

What happens when you take the order out of Sheldon? Well, you get chaos, as we saw on Thursday night's "The Big Bang Theory."

Before I go any further, I have to admit there were many LOLs during last week's episode featuring that painting. I hope you enjoyed it too.

On to this week: Like everything else in his life, Sheldon's day is strictly planned out and controlled down to his haircuts. With his regular barber away, he wasn't about to let someone else cut his hair.

Soon, Sheldon's entire week was out of whack, and Leonard encouraged him to stop living by his own rules, so to speak.

The next thing you knew, Penny was sitting in Sheldon's spot. After she beat Leonard in chess, he remarked, "Between you playing chess like Bobby Fisher, and Sheldon being okay with you in his spot, I'm guessing someone went back in time and changed the course of human events."

Sheldon being Sheldon though, he started to lose it and at one point, engaged in a late night bongo drum session that woke up everyone up.

So, finally Penny agreed to cut Sheldon's hair. After some early resistance, he agreed. After all, Penny had Amy's endorsement: "There's not a hair on this body I wouldn't let this woman trim."

Things went well until she accidentally shaved off part of his hair in the back, due to his incessant giggling. Oops.

Meanwhile, Howard was also going a little out of whack. It turned out he wasn't quite cut out for NASA space training. He eventually found himself living off the land, as he told Bernadette in a video chat: "I ate a butterfly. It was so small, beautiful... I was so hungry."

Bernadette went to Howard's aid, but his mother beat her there first, of course.

So it felt a little like we had been down this road before with Sheldon going a little batty (last week's move to a retiring mad professor's office was almost a precursor), but I'm still very interested in Howard and Bernadette's story. And any scene between Sheldon and Penny is still gold.

Our number one pick for best comedy ever BUT Sheldon does not seem to know if he is from North East Texas or the Panhandle...surely the writers can locate his home in one or the other...not funny to those of us still in Texas. So glad to find an edgy comedy that tickles your brain.
