'Hunger Games' tickets - have you gotten yours?

With one month left until "The Hunger Games" opens, fans may want to start reserving their tickets.

An announcement that tickets are now available went up on "The Hunger Games" Facebook page Wednesday, and according to Entertainment Weekly, admission has already represented a large portion of sales for movie ticket e-retailer Fandango.com.

But before the movie opens on March 23, there's also an advance event for Los Angeles area fans (and those who can get there): the world premiere happening in L.A. on March 12.

Starting at 6 a.m. on Sunday, March 11, fans can camp out at Nokia Plaza to get the chance to be a part of the big night. If L.A. isn't doable for you, Yahoo! will also stream the red carpet for the world premiere online.

In the meantime, here's the song The Decemberists supplied to "The Hunger Games" soundtrack, "One Engine":

Thanks for some other great article. Where else may anybody get that kind of information in such an ideal way of writing? I've a presentation next week, and I'm on the search for such info.

What a disgusting movie about kids killing kids, which some lame plot about "a forced government survival contest" thrown in to make it seem like a "legit" way to portray the blloodshed. Anyone that sees this movie should be ashamed to support this crap.

    Oh, and..
@ B Dizzle – I may not understand you, but the point of the series is not that Katniss is an awesome shooter. She is, but the main plot is way more than that!

Urk... I don't live in the US, but I wish I did, I am DYING to see the movie! I am obsessed with the books, I've read them thoroughly ten times over, plus I'm totally crushing on Josh Hutcherson. XD Guess I'll just have to wait for the novelty to die out though... ^^

haven't we heard the televised-lottery-survival-of-the-fittest plot about a million times by now? I can't believe the author is trying to actually claim she came up with the idea on her own

Actually, she said she got her idea from watching a special on Iraq, Greek Mythology, and reality TV shows. Here's a fact about the series that I'm sure will surprise you: not every book is about the games. Gasp! Yep, that's right. Believe it or not there's more to the story than kids killing kids. How about you read not just the first book, but also the other two, before you think you know everything about a series.

Is that photo CGI or Photoshopped? I've shot plenty of bows and never knocked the arrow behind me hand. Anyone got an explanation?

Im sorry i just cant see a movie where a bow is being held incorrectly in a still photo. I think this ruins the whole plot.

I'm looking forward to this movie, but not enough to stand in line for hours just to see it at midnight. I'll go for a morning showing opening weekend, much easier to deal with.

She is holding her bow incorrectly and her draw isn't too hot either. However, I will still see the film and probably giggle like a schoolgirl. Incidentally – at my archery club, we're starting to see an influx of teenaged girls who want to start shooting. I expect this will spike even higher once the movie's out...

.He was right about Swan's guff and bluster and the need to inrcsaee investment, but the last point will not be improved by his better model. of what a price could be consistent to match avoided damages is just as informative for the long term. We know it will rise with very simple models. If that is allowed to occur, and the productivity commission report shows it is underway, then the economy will transform to one that is outside the parameters of economies described by the current crop of models. The current policy task is to initiate and facilitate that transformation.Models can be useful for understanding carbon price implementation and how transition from a carbon price as a cost to it being embedded in the economy as a social benefit might proceed. Long-term projections should be viewed with great scepticism.

They say that a soundtrack can either make or break a movie. I sure hope the movie is not ruined with a soundtrack containing songs that really don't "fit" the movie.

Wow with the breathless excitement and reverent tones the author uses in this article you would think we're dealing with Harry Potter style hysteria.. Then you look at the comments and only 13 people have posted. This article has been up on the front page of CNN for 8 hours now.

Methinks fandango or someone may not be telling the truth about its supposed popularity. It certainly isn't reflected in social media where disinterest seems to be the order of the day.

Are you serious? Nobody on the set of a movie about survival and stuff knows how to shoot a bow? Who told her to hold a bow like that? You don't just point at what you want the arrow to hit and let go- she is two seconds away from screwing her hand up big time.

She supposedly trained quite a bit and became quite good with a bow – perhaps this picture was a publicity shot before her training?

Wrong scene. In this scene she's just looking for food, not actually hunting in the arena as part of the Games. If you read the book you'd know. 🙂

She actually trained with an Olympic champion archer for weeks. Are you an olympic champion? Maybe she'd look better to you with a compound bow behind a dear stand purchased at Bass Pro? I can just see you being critical throughout the movie with your superior knowledge of survival skills. I guess she was lucky not to have you in the arena...
