'Revenge': The body on the beach belongs to...[Editor's Note: If you don't want to know the identity of the body found on the beach in "Revenge's" pilot, stop reading now.] Each new episode of ABC’s “Revenge” further invests viewers in Emily Thorne’s plot to avenge her father’s death. And since the series’ pilot episode, which aired in September and teased a forthcoming climactic beach murder, fans have been dying to find out the victim’s identity. Many speculated that the lifeless body in the sand belonged to Daniel Grayson (Joshua Bowman), Emily’s (Emily VanCamp) fiancé. It was either that gorgeous head of hair, or Daniel’s mother, Victoria (Madeleine Stowe), who put that image in our heads. (In the pilot, as well as last night’s episode, Victoria darts to the scene of the crime, crying out for her son.) Well, 15 episodes into the soap’s first season (Creator Mike Kelly originally told Entertainment Weekly the reveal would take place during the 13th episode), “Revenge” finally dropped the bomb: (Spoiler Alert!) The body on the beach belongs to con artist Tyler (Ashton Holmes), a former friend of Daniel’s. Viewers immediately took to Twitter to express their shock. And Gabriel Mann, who plays Nolan on the series, told The Hollywood Reporter the cast was equally as surprised: “Up until the morning we got the script, which is when we had the table read and started shooting, we all couldn’t believe who it was,” Mann said. “Because we all had our own theories too. Of course, Mike [Kelly] and all our writers took them and flipped them on their ear.” Here’s how it went down: Tyler confessed to Amanda (Margarita Levieva) - whom he'd kidnapped and turned against Emily - that he planned to kill Daniel with Emily’s gun the night of the couple’s Fire & Ice engagement party. (He was seeking revenge on Emily for pinning Frank’s murder on him - the murder Amanda committed - earlier in the season.) Of course, if the show has taught us anything, it’s that plans for revenge are rarely carried out without a hitch. Amanda, who managed to break away from Tyler, finds Jack preparing to set sail – with the whale cam. After begging him to let her join, she flees, and heads straight for the scene of the impending crime. When Jack finds Amanda on the beach, she's leaning over the dead body. Upon Jack's request, she bolts back to the road and is picked up by Satoshi Takeda (Hiroyuki Sanada). Meanwhile, Jack unsuccessfully attempts to pull the body away from the shore before his figure is spotted - ironically by his brother, who was preparing to go for a dip with Daniel's younger sister. Only after everyone appears on the beach, hovering over Tyler, does Daniel show himself. We’re still not sure how much Daniel knows about Emily’s true identity, but Tyler, at least, managed to give him some photographic evidence of her secret past before his demise. “There are definitely a lot of suspects,” the show’s co-executive producer, Sanford Bookstaver, told EW. “But yes, the blood on [Daniel's] clothing should indicate that he could have been involved.” Bookstaver also talked about how challenging it was to recreate the pilot episode in nine days, as “most of the shots were not from the pilot at all. We re-shot almost every single scene … We had to rebuild that entire Fire & Ice tent. We went back to the beach. We had everybody in the same wardrobes. It was really complicated.” So who do you think murdered Tyler? Is it Daniel, Amanda, or someone else?

I cannot remember his name but hes the tall blonde ugly dude. Where did he go? He left the party in a huff. I think he killed him. He did have a score to settle with him. He is to protect Emily isnt he?
I love thi show!!!!! It was Daniel's face that was visable in the shooting scene, so don't know how Tyler got shot?? I thought it was Amanda but now I think Takeda. He left the party and had a plan to help Emily's plan get back on track. Good show for TV.
I was left scratching my head after the fabulous episode Wednesday night.....What does Nolan have to do with Takeda? It is like Nolan gave him the nod to go and do something. What did Nolan give the security guard? My thought on the killer is Grandpa Grayson.....He was no where to be seen during the speech at the party and was not seen at the beach after the shooting. Amanda did not kill Tyler. Whomever killed him had on black gloves and a black jacket.....Amanda did not have on gloves and if you look closely at her after Jack found her at the beach....she had grey sleeves on her jacket.

It was Amanda. She's a proven killer well paid by Emily and now has controol of the money Emily gave tyler. Don't be surprised to see the aisian nolen and Amanda are all in this as one unit , after all he got the box - from whom? Amanda who arranged for her escape. I don't think Emily was ever serious about Daniel but is setting him up for the murder all along to get to his mother.

I thought it was Satoshi Takeda also, but I noticed that the shooter's clothing was a black suit with a white shirt cuff and black gloves. The wrist and arm is slim as well. Takeda is wearing a white suit as well as mostly everyone at the party. Only folks with black suits that I could see were the security personnel. I guess I'm just going to have to wait and see what unfolds.

It was prob. Takeda because near the end Emily looks over at him and shakes her head. Ain't that ironic?
Satoshi Takeda is up to something. He is either the murderer or is trying to get into Amandas pants.
I saw that on National Geographic. Asians eat innerds and dogs and cats and lizzards and bugs and anything they can get their hands on. You just cant trust someone who eats peoples pets.
Yeah. It wasnt Jack. It was definitly Takeda. Takeda is a foreigner and had no business even being there. He is asian and sometimes they eat cats. They are some bad people. Cats are our friends. Takeda done it.
So I'm really confused because if I recall, in the pilot episode, you see them at this party, you see Daniel by the water, and Jack in a hooded sweatshirt with a gun. Jack shoots Daniel and then drags his body over by some grassy area. Jack's brother see's Jack, but didn't know it was him and goes over to the body to find Daniel and then Charlotte goes for help. Victoria comes rushing out to see Daniel on the beach clearly dead and Emily right behind her.... So...how is this body Tyler's?
It never showed Jack shooting the gun. All we saw was the gun being shot with someone with a black gun. Jack was just seen dragging the body away from the shore. And Daniels face was never shown when you see the body falling to the sand. We all just assumed that's who it was because they were all shouting Daniel. I believe that Satoshi Takeda shot Tyler and that Daniel was just knocked out and that's why he can't remember anything.
I recall the same thing... I'm pretty sure in the pilot you even see someone turning the body in the sand over and it is clearly Daniel, not Tyler. The article does say they re-shot the almost all scenes of the pilot episode so it looks like some re-writing occurred to keep Daniel on the show. That's my guess.
I just went back and watched the first few minutes of the pilot. It did show someone w/black gloves shooting daniel/tyler, and since it was dark, it was hard to tell who was shot, Jack pulling the body out of the water, Victoria screaming, etc. but the body was never turned over. Right when it was about to be turned, it cut to Emily with the Realtor at her house.
Sorry Dear, But The pilot episode there was no clear indication that Jack had in fact killed Daniel, there was never a gun shown in his hand. Nor did they show a face to either prove or disprove that the body belonged to either Daniel or Tyler. Therefor your confused for your own mind boggling reasons, not because the story line was wrong or poorly composed.

And, since Amanda (the real Emily Thorne) got in the car with Takeda, she'll be gone soon.
First I have to say I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! So hooked, it's crazy!! Kudos to Mike Kelly the Brilliant and the whole cast!!
My guess would be Mr. Takeda is the shooter..but with this show you never know, has so many twist and turns!
Right just could be him... Amanda got there and tyler was already dead... Takeda drugged daniel with cloroform and daniel got unconcsious.. When he saw everyone there he didnt know what was going on.. He was like ....mom?? Kind of is that you that i hear.... Takeda picked up amanda at the street on purpose.... He is teaching a lesson to emily .. To show her how bad her revenge can backfire on innocents... Like jack , daniel.. And even a,amda gor pulled into this revenge.. Does she really love daniel? I could see in her eyes disbelief that she is hurting more innocents .. Shes doing to others the same thing others did to her innocent father!
I do not watch this show but I love the photo. Emily Van Camp(?) looking at Stowe like she wants to blow her head off.
