'Transformers 4' arriving in June 2014Another installment of the "Transformers" franchise is officially on the way, whether Shia LaBeouf wants to be a part of it or not. The actor, who has starred in the series since 2007, said while doing press for the third film, 2011's "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," that he wasn't interested in battling the 'bots again. (His co-star Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, on the other hand, has been game to come back.) Paramount announced the fourth installment on Monday, confirming that filmmaker Michael Bay will be back in the director's chair.
Once Bay is done with "Pain and Gain," a movie about a group of bodybuilders who go on a kidnapping, extortion and murder excursion in Florida, he'll get to work on the fourth "Transformers." The statement didn't mention which actors will be part of the next installment, but we already have a release date: June 29, 2014. Are you excited?

I think his Transformers Movies are great cant wait to see the next one, and if u say ur a fan and you hate the movies you are not a true fan, there are many different transformers incarnations and they all tell their own story, so his movies tell their own stories, so therefore theyre amazing as stand alone series but based on G1 then no but they are great.
you said that a true transfan must like the movies,but a true transfan would have tolerance for all continuites.

Jason Statham already signed up for the main role in Transformers 4. His fiancé Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was already in the past Transformers, so Statham was constantly on the set. He agreed to do it, woth Rosie. The only issue is who the decepticons will be.
Mr. Auto Bay, please include the Dinobots. Also, make the movie have more heart... but, with less humans.
I love all of these movies i am a true transformers fan i say keep them coming i just PRAY nothing happens to peter cullen before this movie comes out hes the best optimus prime in the world if he dies optimus dies...

He doesn't want to do another Transformers movie? Really, what other serious acting has the guy done? In what instance could he be slated as a serious actor? If he can pull it off, great. But his hefty paycheck comes from towing the line for the Transformers. Frankly, I wouldn't choose to bite the hand that feeds in his particular situation.
Would love to see this film go crazy. Bring in Hot Rod or Rodimus and Ultra Magnus. The dinobots and the arialbots would be a good addition too. Not to mention Unicron or Galvatron. There are sooo many angles that could be taken and pick up right where Dark of the Moon left off.

Transformers 4: The Return Of Liberal Garbage.
The story line matters only a little. Actors as well, it's all about CGI, battles and action. The third one was absurd, Malchovich's character was dumb and irrelevant but the action was cool and 3D was one of the best so far. I enjoyed it for what it was, we need popcorn movies, they have their place and the fact that they are the movies that bring the most money only proves it. The only way these movies fail is when they can't deliver on what they fan base expect from them.

Personally, I think the only way to go at this point is a Prequel... the Story of CyberTron... the War. This means all Transformers and no humans.....

There was no point for sequels. All has been done and explained in the 1st Installment. Moreover, Bay is a liar, he told everyone that the 3rd part T:DOTM will be his last one!

I know a lot of people may not like this Transformers series, but if you don't like it then I have an idea...DON'T GO SEE IT. All of you that said you hated it watched the first-third and will more than likely watch the 4th. it's an action movie that is more so centered for teens and young adult men. it's alien robots fighting alien robots for crying out loud. with that being said, the only way bay can have any success on the 4th movie is for him to set it on cybertron and do a prequel. Megatron, Fallen, Shockwave,Starscream, and Sentinel are all dead. He could bring in Unicron but then he would have to bring in Primus too and since cybertron got destroyed, that means Primus is dead too. but its just my opinion. Bay could probably find a good use for Unicron.

i personally enjoyed all 3 movies say what you want to but they all had good action and they all had good effects which at the end of the day thats why we watch movies like Transformers we dont watch them for their epic storylines i grew up watching transformers i was a fan then and i am a fan now and if they make a hundred movies i will see them all and i will buy all of the bluerays i personally would also like to see them make a thundercats movie sometime in the near future and possibly a new He-Man movie but hey i am just a fan and they dont pay me to make these decisions
and just a side note i dont think any of the characters should return maybe start a new storyline as any fan of the transformers cartoons will recall there are limitless senarios they can pick up and run with or as far as that goes make up a new one nothing says that the new franchise has to stay with the storyline of a dang near 30 year old cartoon

Why does Michael Bay get to keep on making movies...
I can't understand why people continue to support these films. Each one was been cinema of the lowest order, the action is poorly edited, the effects are an indistinguishable mass of churning gears, the humor is insulting, the plots incomprehensible, the characterization is non-existent and they are all an hour too long. Call me a hater bu these movies are terrible, and yes I am including the last 40 mins of the TF3 in that statement. In conclusion a continuation of the series without all the main characters but bring back the same film-maker is not a reboot it's a sequel.

All the Transformers movies have sucked and if it came back, it better be animated like the 1980's cartoon movie which is still the best Transformers movie to date.
Please film this ALL in stereoscopic 3D and have new 3D models made vs what you did in part 3, Bay! 2D conversions, 2D robot models, dumbing down the depth to make the 2D conversions 'blend naturally'!!! Shame shame.

I'd watch a dozen of them if they put them out. Funny how many people think a series of movies called Transformers revolve solely around interchangable actors, seriously who couldn't have played Shia and Fox's roles, & not the transforming robots. The real question is how is a movie about some 'roided out devients more important?
Please don't let that Rosie Whitten-whatever come back if Shia comes back. The chemistry between them was horrible and it was the worst thing about Dark of the Moon. I don't think Megan Fox is a Meryl Streep but they need to beg her to come back.

I would like to see what he will do with another Transformers movie, especially if the plan is to end the series and leave no loose ends. I am concerned with who they will bring in it anyway though, because every bad guy is pretty much done for and killed off. Galvatron, Unicron, and Rodimus would be great to see in this one. As for the other comment of no Shia, that is another issue, I hated when they got rid of megan fox, even though i didn;t mind rosie, but to get rid of the actual main character that would be ludicrous so whatever michael bay has to do to get shia to stay involved he should because that is the key character .

I don't get the people that complain about these films. What are people expecting going into a Transformers movie? It's not like Bay's trying to make some insightful film about the impact of an alien robot invasion on Earth. It's frickin Transformers. The same Transformers that's designed for 8 year old boys from the 80s. It's not gonna have Godfather level dialogue and it would be boring if it did. The main selling point of this franchise is action and there's almost no point in focusing on anything else. It's a KID'S movie. All you nostalgic 30 something's from the 80s AREN'T the target audience.

Your post should have ended this entire conversation(except for your very last sentence, i just turned 40 today and have really enjoyed all three and will be patiently awaiting the fourth). It's all about the action, special effects, and FUN! Hell, Betty White could play the hero and I'd still be in line to see it!
I'm one of those 30 somethings, but I understand that the movie wasn't designed with me in mind, and why should it be? Transformers was for kids in the 80s back when I was young, and it's STILL for kids today. Why would that change?

A man like Michael Bay does not make films for the money – not anymore – so I have to wonder WHY he would make a fourth film when the third one was so awful. I know it's only my opinion, and I do respect him as a filmmaker, but why not try to redefine himself and do something fresh?
It has to be money....I mean what else could it be? Unless he wants to actually try to prove that he can make a movie focused on the actual STORY and WRITING over the effects....lol, yeah that isn't likely.

Most of these naive comments posted are from 1990's children that never had the chance to appreciate a beautifully crafted cartoon series such as The Transformers... Which was so Popular that it made the big screen as a cartoon movie in the late 80's... All you 90's kids should check out a breakthrough masterpiece of transformers History... Michael Bay is contending with George Lucas of how much more rubbish can be milked out of the franchise. Lucas struck gold with the original Star Wars trilogy, then he made the garbage that came to be known as the "prequel trilogy" and now he the cartoons. Bay is trying to follow suit, except the Transformers movies have been rubbish from the beginning.
Yeah, I was about to say "Except the Star Wars movies are actually GOOD."
Even the prequels are masterpieces compared to Transformers. (I did like the last prequel though)
The problem with ANY movie Michael Bay directs is that is focuses SOLELY on effects over story.
The prequel trilogy for Star Wars was also fantastic, I dont know what you were watching. It wasn't like later on he decided to add more to the story, he already had a back story that he decided needed to be told. It gives the original trilogy more depth.
Fourth should be the last and best one to end in a big bang. That's a good way to suck tarnsformers dry until it is re risen in a decade or so.
I actually enjoyed them so far, I really loved the collapsing building scene in the last one. The blonde girl needs to go. I swear her acting had me banging my head against the person seating next to me. So yeah 2014 (life spared) I'll definitely watch it. Also, please God no more Twilight :'(

Transformers is a big screen adventure. However, Megan needs to come back. I could see Rosie being a quick fix as a guy needs his play toys, but the true stars will always be Shia and Megan. If it wasn't for this article, I would have never remembered that Rosie was her name. Get it together Bay and make Megan happy! If you do, I promise to fork out the money for my kids and me.

I guess my confession will expose me as a non-elitist movie going but looking forward to number four. All three of my children have enjoyed the series and have insisted on me buying the DVD's, so unlike so many of you who are saying, "no, no, no", my children and I will be saying, "yes, yes, yes!".

While I am a bit leary of having more than a trilogy I am very curious about the possible story line because each movie got better and better with the exception of the 2nd one. seemed they tried to go too big too fast. can't wait though!

They should have stopped it at the second one, unless they kept Meagan Fox, and I'm a straight girl saying that, she was a better actor and I absolutely hate it when producers fire actors and replace them. i totally agree! i loved them as a kid and love them even as an adult. although the first and second were good i wasnt that impressed with the third one (maybe because of the different actress) it took on a different light. but all in all i love these movies and im looking forward to the fourth edition to my collection!!!!!

give it up, its going to happen. it made hollywood money. it made even more money on the blurays. we can gripe about it, but nothing is stopping the Bayformer franchise from making the money. That being said, I just want to know who's going to play the bad guy. Megatron, Sentinal, and Shockwave are all dead. Starscream, Soundwave are the only two left for the decepticons to turn to. And no, I don't think Unicron is going to be it, unless they make a 2nd trilogy based on him.
There are plenty of Decepticons to choose from. Just like the story from the original cartoon, they could bring in Galvatron, Scourge.......Bruticus, which would be awesome. I'm not a big fan of Bay's designs for the Transformer Characters, and the waste of good story lines, and miss-use of good characters, but take out LaBeouf, and the 4th Transformer movie has a chance.

Please stop. It's not like these films are based on a series of novels. I thought only horror movies went the way of several meaningless sequels (see Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street).

Michael Bay is obviously going to keep going with the Transformer franchise until he drives it into the ground. Mr. Bay, we know you want to keep your money maker going but there comes a time when enough is enough and it's best to let it go out on top instead of sacrificing the quality and integrity of the franchise to the point that nobody wants to see it anymore. Just like there's too may Freddy Kruger movies, and Saw movies, too many Transformers is NOT a good thing...

Transformers have been around for almost 30 years, there have been multiple cartoons and comic books, and toys. That being said, there are tons of story lines that they could make a movie about, who cares what actors they have in them, I watch them for the transformers themselves because I grew up watching them. Keep the movies coming and people will watch them I promise. Look at the X-men movie series, they have already had 5 movies with more on the way and they are going strong.

I love Shia, but he's not essential to the transformers brand...I think that character has run its course, I think his relevance has always seemed a tad bit forced to me. But I say keep the autobots coming!
