Letterman introduces Sports Illustrated's newest cover girlIf you've never heard of Kate Upton before, get ready to become better acquainted. The 19-year-old graces the cover of the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, which "The Late Show with David Letterman" unveiled Monday on a billboard across from the Ed Sullivan Theater. Upton and nine other models from the issue also stopped by Letterman's late night show to help him deliver his top 10 list, which focused on why this year's Swimsuit Issue is the best ever. One cryptic reason was that the magazine apparently includes ten models, but only nine swimsuits, while another was, "It's not in 3-D, but it looks like it is." Cover star Upton offered this enticing reason: "The art department was able to airbrush my mustache." Clearly this is a woman with a sense of humor, and we'll likely get to see more of it when the 19-year-old returns to "Late Show with David Letterman" tonight for an interview. I don't understand the people who are referring to this young woman as "fat". Honestly, I think she could gain 20-30 lbs and still look wonderful. People are too judgmental about weight. If an individual is healthy and happy, no one should tell them they aren't good enough just because they don't fit someone else's ideal image.

That has to be the worse swimsuit cover I have seen yet! That suit obviously is WAY TOO small for her, not flattering whatsoever, who the hell would ever where that ugly suit! I LOVE the swimsuit edition and that's the worst cover I have seen in YEARS. I reallly can't believe that they felt THIS picture was the "CREAM OF THE CROP" to get a cover shot! Bad, SI, JUST BAD.
Having been a collector of the edition since Kathy Ireland did the 25th Anniversary cover in 1989, SI has been going down hill since Jule Campbell left.
This cover is really lackluster, and sorry Kate Upton really is not what I think of when I think of the SI women.

Well with SI they are not trying to be like Victoria's Secret of having super skinny looking girls in their edition. SI has not ever had super skinny looking girls.

I think she is a rather poor example of a female form. There is nothing "sporty" about her. No muscle development, skinny arms, weak core, signs of emaciation in her entire structure. Boobs are droopy because of under-developed pecs. Her jaw stands out because of a weak neck. She's simply wearing pasties with straps. Separate the wheat from the chaff, fellas!

I agree with you. This suit is not flattering to her. It sqooshes her up top and gives her waist no definition. She has a good body but this suit is not attractive. It looks like Walmart to me. She would actually look better in a nicely cut suit or naked.
