Demi Moore seeks treatment, drops out of 'Lovelace'Demi Moore was slated to portray Gloria Steinem in the Linda Lovelace biopic, "Lovelace," but it seems that's no longer a go. A rep for the 49-year-old actress tells CNN that she is not working on the film. Moore's rep adds that the actress, who recently separated from her husband of six years, Ashton Kutcher, has been dealing with stress. As a result, "Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends."
On Tuesday, reports circulated that Moore had been rushed to the hospital on Monday night, with TMZ citing anonymous sources who allege the issue was substance abuse. Moore's rep did not have a comment on those allegations. A spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed to CNN that the department did respond to a 911 call from Oak Pass Road, a street on which the actress lives, at 10:49 p.m. for an unknown illness. However, the spokesman added that he was not allowed to identify the patient, whom he says was transported at 11:21 p.m. to a local hospital. |

Most of this stuff is just a publicity stunt. She hasn't been in the news until just recently, and so she has to have the publicity to show that she's still around. Most Hollywood marriages are a publicity stunt anyway. They don't get married to stay together forever, it's just to draw attention to themselves.

I admire her, but I also agree with whoever said it is difficult to believe "poor little rich girl" understands real stress of trying to pay bills, get to work on time without the car breaking down, keeping the kids in school, get dinner on the table every evening, pay doctor bills for which one has no insurance. These troubles make up "real" life in middle-America today. And every day, you go to bed knowing you face the same problems the next day.

Yeah my colleague's husband of 10 years asked her for a divorce last month and didn't want anything to do with their two little children. Despite that she had to come in to work at 9am, be efficient and stay till 6 or 7pm depending on the project, then on her way back home pick up her children from day care , cook for them, clean them, put them into bed and then get into bed to be up by 5am to be in the office by 9am all the time while dealing with her divorce mess. Seriously, Miss Moore is nothing but a selfish, self centered idiot who doesn't know reality and heart break. What did she think? she is a 49 year old grandma. If she wasn't so insecure she would be with a decent man her age and would probably have been happier!

I think the point some people are trying to make is that half of all married couples go through divorce. Of course it is difficult and stressful for anyone, including celebrities. Unfortunately for us in the real world, we can't quit our jobs and seek treatment for months on end because we can't afford it and don't have that luxury. While I feel bad for anyone in this position, you should go to work, focus on your career and your children, and eventually your divorce will be over. That's what the rest of working class couples have to do.

I'm pretty sure divorce/betrayal can be equally stressful. How do you know she wouldn't give up her money for a wholesome marriage? Sorry that you feel your paycheck-to-paycheck live is so stressful, but you have no right to decide that your stress is grander than someone else's problems. Any psychologist will tell you that divorce is one of the most stressful things a human being will experience, right up there with death, or losing a job. The reason is that all of these are huge emotional losses/changes in our lives. Get a grip– you aren't the only one to suffer.

You've got to be very young, as it seems you don't have an understanding about how it feels to be the one who is cheated on. Forgiving is one thing, but trusting again is another. There are some people who decide to work hard to get that trust back. Some stay, never feel that trust again, and are miserable. Others can't shake the whole thing and have to move on. I'm sure if you were the one who faced such heartache, you'd have a very different perspective. People react in different ways and heal in different ways. It seems quite judgmental of you to think that just the idea that you imagine is correct for another person.

I don't feel sorry for her at all. She picked him. That kind of an age difference never works out when it's the woman that's older. Women don't age as gracefully and have a short shelf-life compared to men. Men can make babies until the day they die and being with a younger woman enforces this. Women with younger men look desperate to hold onto their youth and impress others. Men with younger women can pull it off if they have money, as they are "taking care" of their companion.

Yes, let's all feel sorry for the multimillionaire who has nary a care in the world. Ms. Moore and the rest of the Hollywood are utterly and completely out of touch with reality. Stress? Try living paycheck to paycheck with a mortgage, bills, a car payment, etc., then tell me how much stress this big breakup is causing. They have only to divide assets and move on with their lives. Within a couple of weeks she'll be fully "recovered" and shopping on Rodeo Drive like nothing ever happened.

Point is Liz. If you are a paycheck to paycheck type person and going through what she is there would be very few other than those closet to you who would care. She doesn't have to worry about the money to pay for her divorce nor does she have the worry of day to day living. She may be sad, stressed and upset but then with her lifestyle what does one expect?

Studmuffin, what are you whining about? I am not a millionaire but I am proud that I had a job, I worked hard and I enjoyed my work. If you are living from paycheck to paycheck and complaining about your bills, try to get a handle on it. I live a comfortable life, do not own a house but am happy with what I have. Before retiring, we made sure everything was paid.
Everyone has bills, but some spend beyond their means. You do not pay for any celebrity's income, unless you choose to see their movies, buy movies, etc.
Like someone has said, money does not make their life picture perfect, life does have struggles, life is life. So learn to live your life a bit because you sure don't sound like you enjoy much.

This comment is nothing but a lame stereotype shrouded in a very thin veil of jealousy. There are many different causes for stress and stress-related symptoms. Stress is not exclusive to those of a certain economic standing. Have you never heard of executive stress? It is ignorant to assume that money somehow solves problems and alleviates stress; as if it solves any emotional dilemma life brings.
What really amazes me is how these celebrities who require serious rehab, only go in for 2 weeks to 2 months max. A true addicted person needs MUCH more time than this to beat their demons.
Celebrities and their connections think they are holy than thou and can rehab within weeks.
Sorry to burst the bubble of any celebrity here because, in the reality of things, rehab time takes a longer approach than what most of you get. You'll all be back into drugs/alcohol in not time flat with the serious lack of rehabilitation you really need in order for it to be fully effective and keep you on the wagon.
These short stints in rehab are a serious joke. No addictive person will stay sober from 1 to 3 months of rehab.

Frankly, she didn't ask for the info about her being rushed to the hospital to be for public consumption, she didn't ask for our opinions, and she doesn't need our smarta$$ remarks. She's a human being dealing with issues we know nothing about.....at the very least have some compassion!! I wish her the best and hope she finds the help she needs, not because she's rich, famous, or any other reason except she's a woman in pain and I prefer to send her a kind word of encouragement whether she ever sees it or not.
Obviously many of you have never known anyone who has suffered an eating disorder. This is not a "eat a cheeseburger" solution type problem. If that was the answer, we'd all be doing it to recover. It's an illness, a disease, please get some sort of mental illness education before you say insensitive and awful things.
