Friday’s Top Five: Motivational movies

Is anyone struggling with their resolutions yet? It’s tough, I know; post-holiday blues and stress can be powerful, distracting forces.

If you need some inspiration, try watching any of the following films. Their messages of hope, persistence and hard work will push you back in the right direction.

What movies motivate and inspire you? (And Happy New Year!)

"Rocky" (1976): “You're gonna eat lightnin' and you're gonna crap thunder!” – Mickey

"The Shawshank Redemption" (1994): “In 1966, Andy Dufresne escaped from Shawshank prison.” – Red’s narration

"Rudy" (1993): “I’ve been ready for this my whole life!” – Rudy Ruettiger

"Dead Poets Society" (1989): “Oh captain, my captain.” – Todd Anderson (YAWP!!)

"Alive" (1993): “But if we die, we're gonna die walking.” – Nando

Honorable Mention:

"The Karate Kid" (1984): “Wax on. Wax off.” – Mr. Miyagi

"Lean On Me" (1989): “They used to call me Crazy Joe. Well, now they can call me Batman!” – Joe Clark

"Stand and Deliver" (1988): “A negative plus a negative equals a positive.” – Jaime Escalante

A negative times a negative equals a position. A negative plus a negative is a larger negative number.

That's what I was thinking. A negative plus a negative is a negative.

You should add The Lion King, Pinocchio, (or just any of the Disney movies in general), Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, the Original Star Wars Trilogy, It's a Wonderful Life, and The King's Speech

Your Honorable Mentions are better than some of the ones on the list, just to let you know.

The Way Back should definitely be on the list. That movie will convince everyone that they can lose their cell phone in whatever city they live in and should never panic if they have to walk home.

How did the Dead Poets Society end up on this list???? October Sky is a much better fit. DPS involved low self esteem suicide... I think you need to re-do this.

Never Say Never should be on that list.

I can prove that you don't have to be a good looking GUY who works hard to make the list. As you may all know, I'm an ugly girl who got action from some dark skinned males in the alley way... LOVIN IT LIKE MCDONALDS. Usher was NOT my first.

Cya!!! Keep supporting me and my music!
