Michelle Obama shows off dance moves on 'iCarly'

We know by now that first lady Michelle Obama isn't afraid to get on the dance floor, and this time, FLOTUS has taken her grooves to Nickelodeon's "iCarly."

Obama will appear in the January 16 episode as part of her Joining Forces initiative that supports military families, Entertainment Weekly reports.

In the (adorable) clip, Miranda Cosgrove's Carly and her pals are given a verbal pat on the back by the first lady, who tells them she's proud of the way they set up a webcast to celebrate the birthday of Carly's dad, an Air Force colonel, when he couldn't make it home.

She also finds time for a little "random dancing" while guesting in the episode, as you can see in the vid below:

The first lady's appearance on "iCarly" airs on Nickelodeon January 16 at 8 p.m. ET.

You all need to stop hating on the Obamas. Idiots b4 him messed up the country & they did the best they could to fix it. They did a good job, but it takes way more than four years to fix problems like that. You all are ignorant. As for the article, i'm glad michelle obama is showing she's still human-like a rich, powerful, less ignorant version of ourselves.

Seriously? All this about the First Lady being on a children's program? I have no idea why the people of this country can't look for positive things and move ahead in a logical, active, enthusiastic way for this country. Based on what I've seen from the Iowa Caucuses, there's nothing great happening in the republican world. Kudos for Mrs. Obama for helping fight to end childhood obesity!

First Lady Michelle Obama is awesome. Inspiring kids to be active and eat healthy is wonderful. Comforting military families whose loved ones are not able to be home is wonderful. She is a positive influence. She looked as if she was having fun and why not. I bet everybody on that set was having a fantastic time with her. Yes, I have a lady crush on the First Lady and proud of it.

That's the problem. Electing people that think they are above the "common" man. Most of America is made up of the "common" man. Then these "sitting on high" so called leaders start taking your "common" money and ruin our country to continue to finance their own interest, while continually destroying the "common" eveyday hardworking American. But, you follow them anyway. We need more "common" people in politics that can relate to the eveyday problems..not more millonaires buying the election. Beside, Mrs Kennedy or Laura Bush had no corrdination to try to dance anyway.

And what did GWB do for America? And you asked what President Obama has done for America? Well, for one he has dramatically cleaned up alot of the mess your previous leader has left us in for one. He has ended the illegitimate Iraqi war, got our NAVY Seals to kill the mastermind of the worst terrorist attack in American history and he has restored America's image and trust around the world. He has inspired the Arab Spring and has helped bring about democracy to Egypt, Libya and Sudan. He has stabilized our economy, passed financial reform to safeguard against another economic crisis and passed comprehensive healthcare to ensure that all Americans can afford coverage for their families. And all of this have been accomplished in under three years despite the obstructionist by the rightwing leadership. These are things our Founding Fathers would have been proud of.

Here's a thought.......why don't we think of people as individuals no matter their color? If they are decent people, work hard, etc. etc.then they deserve admiration. I was raised to admire only white people, but the only playmate in the neighborhood was a little Mexican girl. I grew to love that family; they were so clean, one could eat off their floors. They were beautiful inside and out, so I began to worder why I couldn't associate with anyone who was the same. The Obamas fit that description, along with millions of others. When have you ever seen a FLOTUS put on a pair of jeans and receive the Christmas tree in DC? They are cool people and know how to behave to fit the occassion......really admirable in my opinion.......

This dancing is "not classy" and warrants all the negativity and character assault? Perhaps there is no other first lady dancing because that was not their style. Also, I have seen my share of "wide loads" in my life and the first lady is certainly not in that category. However, 400 years of slavery and offspring's later bears witness to the fact many many many of our ancestors of all "racist" oh races love wrapping something around traditionally depicted large black posteriors. Based on the comics and satirist political commentary of past and present, there seems to be a somewhat obsessive compulsion with them. I can think of at least on recent First Lady whose rear was larger then the current first lady. So does the lack of rear end or the atypical flat rear make one classy in of itself. Also, every mixed function I have ever been at has had a soul train line, its traditional and fun. Come on who doesn't do the soul train line! What's wrong with that? LMAO in Georgia. Happy New Years!

The Republicans are the ones that left President Obama with all this mess. Yes people do all sorts of things for a good campaign, but you can't knock the Obamas there doing what every other president have done for a campaign. To those ones that think the first lady is a cow, she does have hips and but, her arms are small and toned her stomach is flat and a lot of ladies her age wish they could look as good as she does. I truly believe a lot of ppl dislike the Obamas because of their color, which is sad. President Bush did a lot of wrong doing and still he we praised. President Obama is trying to fix what was left behind. I like President Obama it's a shame President Obama and his Administration have not figure out how to get out of this mess. I will give him another chance because it's very difficult trying to fix someone elses mess in four years, hopefully after being in the white house he and his administration can come up with a good plan when he is elected President for the upcoming election.

I don't see where Laura Bush was a class act. In 1963 Laura Welch drove through a red light while intoxicated and killed a high school class mate in Midland Texas. Although the authorities concluded that foul play was not discovered, some believe that she was jealous of the honor roll football star who was not interested in her. Class act? When a black female or male in America drops out of school, do drugs or breaks the law some in the mainstream society say black people are shiftless, lazy, worthless, bums, losers, criminal and so on. But when a black person like First Lady Michelle Obama or President Obama play by the rules, stay in school and get an education and try to make something of themselves, the critics have a tendency to flip flop and accuse them of being opity or trying to be white and so on. So what is wrong with you people for crying out loud? Doesn't four hundred years of slavery in America, helping to build this country from the ground up and decades of Jim Crow oppression enough to warrant that African-Americans get some respect from you people? What does African-Americans have to do in America to get some respect from you people? Isn't this country for all of us? And what makes you people better than the rest of the American people?

Why do people feel the need to criticize the First Lady's eat healthy initiative? I don't remember this kind of nasty backlash against Nancy Reagan and her "war on drugs" in the 80's. If you're an adult and want to have a poor diet, thats fine. But don't feed your children the same way. And for everyone who's complaining about how the First Lady is dancing on iCarly, I have to ask: Have you ever actually watched the show? As the father of a 6 year old little girl I can tell you that the purpose of the "Random Dancing" scene's is to just dance anyway you want to, whether it looks good or not. Hence, the "Random" part.

Robyn: if you are as ignorant as you sound, please don't vote. Mrs. Obama taking her nieces and nephews on a free trip to Africa is hardly a trivial matter. Their participation in that unnecessary junket cost the taxpayers an additional amount in the thousands of dollars. Her brother makes around a half million dollars as the basketball coach at Oregon State. For an administration to complain about the rich not paying their fair share and then to prove this trip to family is, at the very least, hypocritical...and, a free trip such as that provided at our expense is a taxable event. I'm sure if any other party received such a free trip, the IRS would be on them like a duck on a June Bug if that party didn't pay taxes on the value of the trip. That you brought in the Bush family when the poster didn't express any opinion on them shows that you are presumptuous as well as dumb. In my opinion, Susan didn't go far enough: Mrs. Obama's brother should reimburse the government for the trip his children got at our expense, as should Mrs. Obama for all of the vacations she has taken while her husband has been in office,

How short memories are. Laura Bush took her daughters to Africa as well at the taxpayers expense for what was considered an official visit. Michelle Obama took her daughters to Africa for what was also considered an official visit. Demand the money back from Laura Bush and other first ladies as well for their "official visits" and you just maybe, might have a case. Until then, your arguments are still pretty one-sided.

Biohazard: I'm no fan of George Bush, either. However, your comparison makes no sense. Many presidents and first ladies have taken their own children on trips, Hillary Clinton to name another one. That's a perk of the office that is tolerated (although I think that should be taxed or paid for at the parents' expense as well). That's not the same as taking someone else's child at tax payers expense. Again, doing so was particularly hypocritical, given the Obama's continual campaign mantra that the rich don't pay their fair share of taxes.

@Jonsie...Since when was Michelle Obama part of the administration?? I'd like to know when she was given a position in the cabinet? Like many first ladies, she has her own causes that she promotes. She isn't going around speaking about the deficit or policy, she is supporting military families and asking kids to eat right and be healthy. Where's the agenda there? I'm all for free speech and speaking against the administration if you'd like, but direct your anger where appropriate. The first Lady is not it. I may have disliked George Bush, but I didn't direct my dislike at his policies at Laura, who (like Michelle) wasn't running our government.

I find reading this quite amusing... because if you didn't like the Obamas you wouldn't follow them and comment on their every move, their every decision and their every appearance. Face it they are good people, who are brilliant and don't pull any punches about anything. You ask them, and you get clear, precise, and intelligient answers, which says a lot for what you've had in the past. Like it or not... if they had a different coating on their bodies this would'nt be an issue.
