Russell Brand, Katy Perry end marriageAfter a little more than a year of matrimony, Russell Brand and Katy Perry are splitting up. Brand, 36, tells CNN in a statement, "Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends." The Brit comedian and actor filed for divorce from his pop star wife on December 30 in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences.
The news comes just a day after Brand was spotted not wearing his wedding ring, and Katy was seen without hers while in Hawaii over the Christmas holiday. The couple have steadfastly denied having problems in their relationship, with both of them shutting down rumors of a trial separation over the summer. In late November, Katy, 27, made light of the gossip that she and her husband were headed for divorce. "First I'm pregnant, then I'm divorced. What am I, 'All My Children?!'" she joked via Twitter. This week, however, the rumors escalated, with a source telling E! News on Wednesday that the couple was indeed having trouble and that they'd been spending time apart. The couple wed in India in October, 2010.

My take (as if it matters) is that this couple intersected at a time in their lives that each was on a different path. There has been regular news that Russell has been moving away from "partying" while Katy is only in her early 20's and has been enjoying her fame with parties and out-on-the-town events with her friends. Good for Russell and Katy, life is to short to not live it in a way that is best for you.

Just once, I'd like to hear one of the two of a celebrity couple say: "We're ending our marriage. We absolutely hate each other now, and will not remain friends. Thank goodness we didn't have any children. Wow, we were so immature to get married like that."
The marriage is not yet ended. He filed for divorce, but a judge has to grant it. They are just separated. Would not be surprised to read in the near future that they've reconciled.
Brand is a reformed drug addict and drinker. He is a homebody who wants to start a family. Katy is young and has a rising star and likes to party. It's understandable that they would part after a while, despite it appearing that they actually do love one another. He is actually the calmer of the two.

OK kids, let me weigh in why this marriage failed. Soon after saying "I do", she embarked on her world wide tour. They were not together as a couple. She is 10 years younger, in a different place than Brand, and into partying. She is not ready for kids, as her career is on fire. He is ready for a woman to be by his side, sober, no booze cause he can't have any. He is ready for kids. Hence the "irreconcilable differences". Personally, I find Brand to be highly entertaining. I believed he truly loved her. I hope he finds what he deserves.

Dave, you need to educate yourself about the origins of the bible, which original books were completely deleted and why, how much the words have been changed over the years for political or other gains, etc, etc. Do some research about how the major stories in the bible actually appeared in other religions centuries earlier in substantially similar detaill. It can be a bit shocking at first. It does not mean that there is no God, but it does mean that man (not God or the Holy Spirit) has put a lot of his own ideas into the bible and religous teachings. Then take that knowledge, clear out all the stuff added and changed by people over the years, and re-examine your views on the world, faith, marriage - all of it.

I was sad to read this. We saw Russell in concert earlier this year and it was evident just how much he loves his wife – he talked about her all night. While he may have been a bad boy in the past, he is a funny and down-to-earth guy and I am very sad for both of them – they really seemed to have a great relationship. Problem is that they didn't have enough time together – a common pitfall for celebrities, but a shame that they couldn't spend more time working on their relationship. Celebrities in general seem to give up on marriages too quickly – a good marriage takes time and work! Best wishes to both of them.

We should rearrange the conditions of marriage and as well as condition of having kids. Here is my proposal.
1. There should be prerequisites of having kids such as going through 1 year of training before having kids and if they pass parenting test after one year of training then they are allowed to have kids.
2. Once two people satisfy condition # 1 then than the couple will be allowed to get married.
How about another rule that no one in Hollywood can marry anyone else in Hollywood? Oh, sorry, they wouldn't sell all those millions in magazines and advertising without all these tawdry hookups, now would they?
